AR/MR R+D (USA): As a member of the AECOM Mission Critical Advanced Technologies Group, collaborated with the AECOM Digital Transformation Team for an R+D effort and was involved in discussions regarding implementation strategies for emerging augmented-reality and mixed-reality technologies. Core goals included development of proprietary software to automate parts of design and production processes for ongoing data center work and development of custom digital tools for design visualization and client presentation using Microsoft Hololens. Optimization Algorithm Authorship (USA): Wrote a parametric algorithm that effectively outputs optimal data hall layouts using several various-sized data center modules, maximizing ultimate leasable area and module size diversity to achieve flexible leasing options while minimizing remaining unusable real estate. Worked with design architect and multiple engineering disciplines to analyze and document existing conditions for a brownfield site, to create a site development strategy, and generate design schemes for a new data/colocation center in Silicon Valley. Agriscience BIM Modeler (USA): Responsible for building Revit models for several existing scientific laboratories, agricultural facilities, and corporate offices for a major material and agriscience client. Used Revit models to produce DD and CD drawing packages for various projects in Michigan, Indiana, and California. Data Center BIM Modeler (USA): Worked closely with project architect and many engineering disciplines, used Revit models to create CD drawing packages for modifications to existing data centers in Virginia and Washington State for a major technology corporation. Visualization Artist (USA): Responsible for producing interior and exterior renderings of small-scale modular data centers for an energy client in Washington State, which were used by the AECOM marketing department to pursue more work of the same type. Production Designer (USA): Produced drawings for development of a shooting range at a private sport club in Oregon. Production Designer (USA): Produced drawings for hazardous material mitigation work for the United States Military. Transportation Production Designer and Rhino Modeler (USA): Worked with the AECOM transportation department to create parametric design tools that with a set of global input parameters can be used for any project site to generate design schemes for park-and-ride and light rail station development, which included parking stall layout optimization, and with the intent to be used for future expansion of greater Portland light rail system in Oregon. Structural Draftsman (USA): Worked directly with senior structural engineer to produce structural drawings for an industrial crane platform expansion at an aerospace manufacturing/fabrication facility in Oregon. Independent – Design Architect, Project Architect April 2016 – October 2017 Custom Residence (USA): Led private client to pursue and achieve higher level of design excellence within allowable budget. Designed, produced, and managed all phases (SD, DD, CD, CA) of a custom single-family residence, constructed on a remote site at the edge of the Okanogan National Forest in Washington State. Coordinated with all engineering disciplines, fabricators, manufacturers, and suppliers, and conducted site visits throughout the construction process.
DLR Group – Architectural Staff, Designer October 2013 – October 2016 Starbucks Design Production (USA): Responsible for producing numerous designs for realization of both new stores and TI projects in airports and retail spaces across the US. Produced designs for corporate meeting rooms and the Global CMO’s personal office at Starbucks World Headquarters in Seattle. Parametric Ceiling Design and Interior CD Production (Saudia Arabia): Produced full interior CD set for construction of a new convention center. The orb-like building, unusual in form, included auditorium, ring-like foyer, entire secured level with private office and lounge for Saudi Arabian King and dignitaries, shops, restaurant/cafe, and workspaces as part of the Sinnovate Technology Hub in King Abdullah Economic City. Responsible for writing a parametric algorithm that generated design options for a custom feature acoustical ceiling system throughout an entire level of the convention center. Retail Property Redevelopment (USA): Built and managed entire architectural BIM model of an extensive commercial/retail property, conducted code research, produced full CD set, coordinated closely with all engineering disciplines and GC. Directly supported project architect during CA phase of the now redeveloped property in Oregon. Retail Property New Development (USA): Built and managed architectural BIM model, coordinated with engineering disciplines and GC, conducted code research, and produced full CD set for new construction of 14 retail buildings, part of a 1,3 million square-foot commercial/retail development in California. K-12 Education Historic Renovation (USA): Worked with architectural production team in final stage of CD phase to meet project deadline for historic school renovation in Washington State. Police Station Design Proposal (USA): In response to an RFP, collaborated directly with the Northwest Regional Design Leader on design and renderings to produce a design proposal for a new police station in Oregon.
