ECONOMY LOW-INCOME RESIDENCIES
JAZMYNE KNOX | ARCH 301 | FALL 2020 | INSTRUCTOR: PROFESSOR STROTHER 05
Creating a community in a natural environment and including an environment for others to create in and interact with was a goal for the architectural design. The architectural plan prioritizes these experiences residents and outsiders may have within the community. The neighborhood is welcoming to tourists and allows them to engage with the exterior spaces such as the food truck area and the public park and playground area.

Working with interlocking shared spaces and private spaces the intention is to form residencies for up and coming families as well as including public green spaces for public use to grow produce that is protected from wildlife. A similar theme present is a response to the natural exterior surrounding the site, influencing the materiality, volumes, and circulation of the space.

The use of shipping containers is a way to make use of disposable items, or waste and contribute to the preservation of the environment. Along with shipping containers, the project also utilizes locally sourced wood which limits carbon footprint saves time and energy from harvest to transport, maintenance, and creates a warm atmosphere.

SERVICE BLUEPRINT ZUNZI’S DOWNTOWN
JAZMYNE KNOX | SERV 216 | SPRING 2019 | INSTRUCTOR: PROFESSOR MANHAES 11
Work with Zunzi’s in Downtown Savannah to facilitate a more efficient workflow amongst the customers and the workers.. Zunzi’s operates in the stairwell of a historic building with outside seating. Lines wrap around the block during lunch time. Project was a part of a service design studio. Research included speaking with different parts of the operation from the CEO to the front line workers.
Zunzi’s is a South African inspired takeout, delivery, and catering restaurant located in Savannah, Georgia. The restaurant

Advertising can be made more tangible with several grassroots strategies, including but not limited to: giving free stickers for mobile advertising, sponsoring buzz hours during which the cost of a sandwich is discounted for SCAD students, branded to-go containers, and dispersing coupons to SCAD students through SCAD student employees.

DIVERSITY MUSEUM OF GENDER ARTS
JAZMYNE KNOX | DSGN 224 | SPRING 2018 | INSTRUCTOR: PROFESSOR AFIFI 13
The concept of this project is based around the idea of equality versus equity and its place within nature. By visiting this museum, visitors will have a better understanding of their role in society and nature. In order to understand our place we must understand what is above us and below us and realize that they are not less than or greater than each other but play a role in our experiences.

Concept Drawings
The site plan is modeled from a female reproductive system because that’s where all human nature starts. The tensile system allows for sustainable shading as well as low economy building because of its lightness. .The tensile represents air, the bridge is earth, the sunlight is fire, and the lower roof below the bridge is water. 16

RESILIENCY A RECREATION AND DISASTER RELIEF CENTER
JAZMYNE KNOX | ARCH 302 | WINTER 2019 | INSTRUCTOR: PROFESSOR BACHA
This project will serve to create an area of relief in terms of activity as well as disaster. It will become an area of refugee, in every sense of the word, for all people regardless of race, socioeconomic status, and/or ideals. It will bridge communities and celebrate the historical society of Savannah. It will serve to better the ecological and cultural potential of the city.
Creating terracing that flows with the topography which can help slow down the runoff velocity of water, protecting our
Putting buildings in channels with retaining walls embedded in the earth then building them on top of pontoons so when the earth floods water will flow into channels allowing the building to float.
The bridge was once used as a connection from a poor city to an affluent city. By introducing this community greenhouse it will leverage interaction amongst the community in the same way that was done in the past, while also providing a source of food during a state of emergency.

WELL-BEING CHILDREN’S DAY CAMP
JAZMYNE KNOX | ARCH 406 | SPRING 2020 | INSTRUCTOR: PROFESSOR AFIFI
The focus of my design is fluidity. My design intent is to mimic the freedom and flow within the site to create meaningful freedom and flow within the community. By introducing a food hub to downtown Savannah we’re giving people the space to make better choices that may multiply and flourish throughout Savannah. This idea is similar to the ripple effect where, like ripples across the water when an item Is dropped in it, the food hub will be able to be mimicked anywhere.
My form is going to have an organic geometry established with paths and tree avenues while building off the geometry that is set forth for the rest of the city in order to create visual balance. Site Planthe and Section I want to stimulate ideaSIte of weaving through space to take advantage of time and views. Large gardens of produce will be setup roadside to allow for passing traffic to see the site. Connecting bothassides of theforsite The large gardens will serve the landmark the by site. Site paths will feed of intopathways. the bridge tunnels to encourage exploration. way
Using aquaponic gardening as the forefront of design.
-Cultivation of fish and plants together in a constructed re-circulating eco-system Farmers Market located on the west with building program on the east Gardens and markets located on the side of the road serving as the landmark for the site. 1
