Paducah’s Favorite Son, Alben Barkley. Listen to KY Appeals Court Justice Shea Nickell talk about his favorite historical figure, VP Alben Barkley, and view some of his Barkley memorabilia. Thursday, April 6 at 2:00 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center, Room 109.

The Numerous Burials of President Abraham Lincoln’s Body Between 1865-1901. Maggie Hamper is a former Michigan schoolteacher who returned to Paducah after retirement. She will share with us interesting facts about Lincoln, many unknown to the public! Thursday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center, Room 109.

The Man at the Top. Come hear Dr. Anton Reece, President of West Kentucky Community and Technical College share his thoughts and vision for the future of WKCTC. Thursday, April 27, at 2:00 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center, Room 109.

Executive Director, Bill Miller will discuss the River Port’s new addition, the BIG Blue Flat Top Crane, the Foreign Trade Zone Designation, America’s Marine Highway Leadership Award and the importance of Multi-Modal Transportation in this region for economic growth. Thursday, February 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center, Room 109. Turning Waste Plastic into Fuel Around the Globe. Dr. Jeffrey Seay, Professor, UK Paducah will share how population growth and urbanization in developing countries, has led to an increase in plastic waste generation, leading to environmental problems, particularly to the world’s oceans. Thursday, February 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center, Room 109. American Presidents: The Good, The Bad and the Indifferent. Hear Dr. David Krueger, retired WKCTC history professor, reveal some interesting facts about former US Presidents. Tuesday, February 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center, Room 109.

Honor Flight. Hear Doug Foster, Director of the Honor Flight Network Bluegrass Chapter, share the mission of this great organization. Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. Thursday, March 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center, Room 109.

Learning from the past, living in the present and believing in the future: A History of West Kentucky Community and Technical College. Author and Marketing Director Janett Blythe shares the history of WKCTC, from the birth of its founding institutions – Paducah Community College and WKCTC – to consolidation and WKCTC’s status as one of the top community colleges in the nation. Tuesday March 21 at 2:00 p.m. in Crounse Hall, room 101.

Behind the Scenes at the Market House Theatre. Take a trip backstage with Executive Director Michael Cochran to see what goes into their amazing productions. Tuesday March 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Market House Theatre, 132 Market House Square, Paducah, KY. Attendees will assemble in the entrance lobby. NOTE: This program will require some walking and a lot of standing.

Tour of WPSD Local 6. Dwayne Stice, HR/Programming Manager will give us a behind the scenes look of the television station. How it works and what it takes to get you what you watch.
