The Aspen Institute has selected West Kentucky Community and Technical College as one of the Top 10 community colleges in the nation each of the three consecutive times it has awarded the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the nation’s signature recognition of high achievement and performance in America’s community colleges. West Kentucky was named a top five community colleges and a “Finalist with Distinction” in 2011. In 2015 for a second time, the College was once again named a “Finalist with Distinction”and named one of the top three community colleges in the nation. West Kentucky was recognized for outstanding achievement in the areas of student learning outcomes, degree and college completion, labor market success in students securing jobs after college, and minority and low-income student success. West Kentucky Community and Technical College also provides a great return on your investment. The White House’s recently released College Score Card, ranked WKCTC’s average net price in the low range compared to other community colleges in the nation. The report added that individuals who graduate with an associate degree will make on average almost $5,000 more a year than individuals who only have a high school diploma. West Kentucky has a long history of helping students achieve their dream by providing an array of options to fit student needs and foster student success. I hope you enjoy your visit with our college!

WKCTC’s Inland Logistics and Marine Institute The Inland Logistics and Marine Institute at West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) is located at 631 Marine Way in downtown Paducah, Kentucky, and offers industry certified online and on-campus classes as well as tailor made training and continuing education through Workforce Solutions. In addition to providing a location for workforce training, the Institute also houses WKCTC’s logistics and operations management and marine technology programs. Students can earn an online Associate in Applied Science degree in Logistics and Operations Management or Marine Technology completely online, giving them the opportunity to rise above the crowd and expedite their career. On August 10, 2015, WKCTC welcomed more than 200 people to the newly renovated, 8,000 square-foot facility, situated between local river businesses and Paducah’s downtown, includes classrooms, a state-

It is a hub for WKCTC’s marine technology and logistics and operations management programs, as well as tailor-made training and continuing education for the local river industry. WKCTC has offered associate degrees in marine technology and logistics and operations management online for several years, but the U.S. Department of Labor awarded the college a $2.75 million grant in 2013 that has allowed it to further develop those programs as well as renovate and outfit the institute. ILMI Director Troy Courtney said the Department of Labor grant was the spark needed to significantly grow WKCTC’s programs. Since receiving the grant in October of 2013, Courtney said their programs have touched over 700 students. He said the new video lab at the institute will enable WKCTC to
