Welcome Dear Members, We are wrapping up a wonderful winter here at the JCC and planning an amazing spring, blooming with activities for you and your family. Before I share some our top spring events, I wanted to tell you how excited we are to be opening a satellite location. On March 18th, we will be celebrating the Grand Opening of the Downtown Baltimore JCC (DBJCC) on Light Street in Federal Hill. Dozens of families have already signed up to participate in our parent/infant/toddler programs and we expect many more in the months and years to come as we strive to connect more families to our JCC community. Here are some wonderful special events that you won’t want to miss… 25th Annual Baltimore Jewish Film Festival at the Gordon Center starting April 4th and running through April 25th featuring award-winning Jewish-themed films from around the world. Israel's 65th. Celebrate! Sunday, June 2nd from 12-4pm in the ball fields of the Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC. If you love Matisyahu, you won’t want to miss his live concert as the family activities wind down. JCC Annual Meeting, Thursday, June 6th at the Gordon Center. We'll celebrate the achievements of our JCC and honor our outgoing Chairman of the Board, Neil Demchick for his two years of excellent leadership. We will also install Will Minkin, as the new board chair along with new officers and board members.

Preschool & Preschool Plus These programs are offered at both the Park Heights and Owings Mills JCC and provide children ages two through five with a well-rounded, age-appropriate curriculum. Experienced and certified early childhood education teachers engage children in activities designed to develop emotional, social, cognitive, physical and spiritual growth. Children gain self-confidence, develop friendships, and explore new concepts. Daily activities include: energetic play, music, art, circle time, Hebrew, story time, science, cooking, physical education, swimming and creative play. We also introduce children to the customs and traditions of Jewish life, including culture, ethics, Shabbat celebrations and holidays. We offer morning and extended day programs, including an early drop-off option which begins at 7:00am. For parents who need the added benefit of extended hours and yearround childcare, the Preschool Plus program is also available during summer months.
Award Winning Healthy Choices Program in OM Our students learn about “sometimes” foods and “anytime” foods by following the new Food Plate. They also learn about portions, vitamins, minerals and the benefits of physical activity. By eating together as a group, familystyle, children take charge of how much and what they eat. They are encouraged to recognize when they are hungry and when they are full. With daily activities and lessons focused on eating right and getting exercise our students are learning wellness skills that will empower them to make healthy choices throughout their life.
