Johnson (11-1) 81 vs Brown Mackie (6-8) 61 December 10, 2010 Johnson County Drops Brown Mackie OVERLAND PARK, KS – The Johnson County Community College men’s basketball team returned home and responded with an impressive 81-61 victory over Brown Mackie. The Cavaliers won their 10th straight and improved their record to 11-1 and 3-0 in region play. Brown Mackie drops to 6-8 overall and 1-2 in the region. The Cavaliers built an 14 point cushion in the first half 3622.The Cavaliers added 6 more to their lead in second half.. Sophomore Guard Ryan Magdziarz scored 21 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, dished out 3 assists and had 2 steals. Sophomore Ryan Arel chipped in with 14 points. 6-4 Freshman Forward Justin Leathers posted 14 points and 4 rebounds, to go along with 3 assists. JCCC had a nice offensive performance by shooting 51 %( 30/59) from the floor and also recorded 21 assists. The Cav’s also knocked down 8/24 three point baskets.” We really did an excellent job of finding the open man. Especially in the second half” The Cavs shot 60% in the second half. The Johnson County defense wasn’t too bad either. JCCC held the Lions to 38% from the floor and forced 17 turnovers.
