Four court gymnasium Three lane running track Competition level swimming pool and a leisure pool Fitness areas and multipurpose rooms Office for Health Services, Counseling and Recreations Administration This 110,000 sf project was conceived as an oasis off the main campus and in close proximity to student housing and a number of athletic �elds. Placed prominently on a ridge looking down over playing �elds, transparency through the building was emphasized as a way to connect the interior athletics program with exterior activity spaces. The building was sited to take advantage of day lighting spaces and to work as a hub for adjacent uses, becoming an anchor point for future development in this area.

7,000 sf of Fitness space Multipurpose rooms Three lane elevated track Renovated locker rooms Relocated Recreation office New lobby and entry sequence This 10,000 sf renovation project, prominently located along the Loyola Drive, is to be visual focal point as one enters the university, serving as a valuable recruiting tool and further foster an environment that is rich in learning possibilities. The new construction provides transparency to activity and resurrect a dated facility, enliven the entry sequence to the �tness complex. Social interaction is key and the feel of “openness” and �exibility should de�ne the architectural experience by emphasizing the importance of visual connections both internally and externally as well as provide a �exibility as the university’s �tness commitment grows and evolves.
