These days we live in an exceptional time, a time beyond our wildest imagination and beyond what we ever have experienced. The almost invisible virus has paralyzed a world economy, has emptied our avenues and streets, has forced us not to shake hands and to keep distance from our friends, has even closed our churches, and has forced us to stay at home.

The pandemic has forced each one of us to look at our different behaviors in a way that we are not used to. We are compelled to move collectively for the good rather than to be individualistic. It was never an easy situation that came across our lives’ existence now, especially in our term as the 2020 LO President. But still we delivered.

Perhaps because of the COVID-19 threat, it is worth grappling with the mystery of uncertainty. But in the midst of crisis, God is reminding us “the harder the effort we invest in our faith, the greater the blessing that is promised to us”.

We must still be able to face a world of negativity with a positive attitude. As we move forward embracing this new normal, we remind ourselves of our goal to mold and motivate. Create positive change in our own communities, and eventually to the world. We can do all that by providing developmental opportunities that will empower young people. Let us uphold the JCI Values as we tread towards achieving our ultimate goals, and envision to be the leading global network of young active citizens.

As one JCI family, we move forward and together. Let us aim to grow and activate impactful motivators to make the remaining months our first full year in JCI a success because “Service to Humanity is Best Work of Life”
