As the world continues to grapple with the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. David was able to exemplify effective and compassionate leadership. He was able to raise 6.6 million pesos through support from partners and fundraisers for supplies to combat the spread of COVID-19. He also worked with the Department of Finance to pass the “Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises” bill which provides help and support to affected businesses brought on by the pandemic. The priority programs of JCI Philippines such as the National Program for Disaster and Relief, “Oplan Kaagapay” and National Program for Medical Missions, “Got Heart” have helped thousands of Filipinos affected by the pandemic and the Taal Volcano eruption in January of last year. His 15 years in JCI have equipped him with the ability and qualification to lead the organization in this time of unprecedented crisis caused by COVID-19. His JCI journey has not only brought him achievements, but also moments of failure which have given him the strength and insight to pursue innovative ideas. This is incorporated in his theme for this year which is to “Mold and Motivate”.
Mr. David has demonstrated that despite the challenges that our country is still facing, young leaders such as himself and organizations such as JCI Philippines are greatly capable of bringing positive change and substantial contributions to our society and future generations.
