When I joined JCI Catbalogan Balud in 2016, I told myself that I don’t want to be the president. Why? I saw how it worked. Sadly, it was a struggle and the president had to face it, sometimes alone. Fast forward to 2020, I ended up being the president. But I’m telling you, no regrets. None at all. The struggle? Yes, it was there, but now I know there’s a lot more to being the president than just trials. Being the L.O. President for me was an honour, privilege and an achievement.

An honour due to the respect you receive from the chapter and even from the community. It is overwhelming because of this, you know you are probably doing something right. It has been a privilege to be able to serve the community and lead an organization, since it is a chance not given to everyone. Lastly, it is an achievement. If ever someone would ask me what my greatest achievement in life is, I would definitely say being the President of JCI Catbalogan Balud. I know not everyone would understand, but being the L.O. President gives you more than just an achievement, it gives you a sense of purpose. It gave me one year worth of memories that I would love to visit over and over again when I’m old.

To the people I met on this journey, thank you very much. To Batch HIRAYA, I will forever be proud that I am one of you. Thank you for everything, please know that you have found not just a friend, but a brother in me. To my JCI Catbalogan Balud family, thank you for being my strength, thank you for giving me the chance to be your 2020 president. To my family and fiancée, thank you for always believing and supporting me. To our Lord God, thank you. Thank you for giving me the opportunity of one year to lead and one year to grow.

Kevin B. Casiño, JCI Catbalogan Balud 2020 L.O President, now signing off.
