Greetings! My name is Joe Criscuoli from the Conferences & Visitor Services department at the University of Maryland. I am writing to raise your awareness about the university as a venue for meetings, conferences, and summer programs .
Unique Venues E-Mail Blast
You may already know that the University of Maryland College Park is a robust conference/ convention/event venue, and here are a few of the reasons why:
Selected “plain-text” as a method to achieve greater “opens” and “reads”
In 2017 The Hotel at the University of Maryland will open its doors. This four star facility will feature 297 rooms, a full service restaurant; a fitness center, pool and spa; and a generous amount of meeting and multi-function spaces. The newly renovated Marriott College Park Hotel and Conference Center also at the University of Maryland offers 237 rooms, including 31 luxury Studio Suites and 39,000 square feet of meeting and multi-function space. About 800 additional hotel rooms are nearby at value-rated hotels and inns are within one mile of campus, including 450 rooms at four hotels within a few minutes walking distance of the University. In the summer, the University’s 8,000+ air-conditioned student accommodations, and more than 400,000 square feet of lecture halls, arenas, and multi-function spaces, accommodate a wide array of conferences, conventions, camps, and events - some of which have involved as many as 16,000 participants. As a destination, the City of College Park, Maryland has several unique advantages:
The University of Maryland is a top-twenty Research 1 institution with a world-class research park that is home to several U.S. and world organizations and government agency research centers. The University of Maryland has joined the Big Ten sports conference and its academic affiliate the Committee for Institutional Cooperation. The University of Maryland is located at the North intersection of I-95 and the beltway of the Nation’s Capital, and it’s just a short Metro ride from Capitol Hill, U.S. monuments, museums, and many other attractions of Washington DC. The University of Maryland is within a six hour drive of three-quarters of the population of United States and is centrally located within a 35-minute drive of three international airports. Audience: You have a prime opportunity to arrange conferences, meetings, competitions, events, exhibitions, and academic symposiums at Maryland with just one phone call. And, we can also help with summer housing & dining, transportation, and more. Conferences & Visitor Services is a one-stop resource for help with site-selection, lodging, web-based registration, meeting/function space, food arrangements, event planning, transportation, hospitality, funds management, VIP care, signs and publications, technical services, and more.
