August 1, 2016 Peter Danis Sent via email to umdpsk.president@gmail.com Dear Peter Danis: This letter should serve as official documentation, on behalf of the Vice President for Student Affairs, that Phi Sigma Kappa has fulfilled all of the requirements necessary to be a recognized fraternity at the University of Maryland. According to the recognition policy, a chapter must provide satisfactory information confirming they are responsibly managed; fiscally reliable; a responsible steward of University property; a constructive member of the campus community; and willing to observe the rules and laws of the community. These expectations must be continuously met to maintain recognition. In keeping with the Vice President’s expectation that sororities and fraternities be responsibly managed and participate as constructive members of the community, as a general rule, recognition will not be granted unless the sorority or fraternity chapter meets the following expectations: Registered student organization with the University Minimum of eight (8) current undergraduate student members In good standing with Inter/National Headquarters Accepted as a member of a governing council Proof of 1 million dollar insurance policy Compliant with the University of Maryland Chapter Expectations Paperwork Expectations Programming Expectations Attendance Expectations Behavioral Misconduct
Compliant Compliant Compliant Compliant Compliant Exceeds Expectations All required paperwork submitted 12 of 12 programs completed- Bronze 6 of 6 requirements completed N/A
Phi Sigma Kappa has fulfilled each of these requirements, submitted all of the necessary paperwork, and exceeded expectations by completing programming in each of the twelve areas of member development. Congratulations, your chapter will be Recognized with Distinction for the 2016-2017 academic year! We are very proud of your chapter for meeting all of the requirements and look forward to seeing what you will accomplish in this upcoming year. As a reminder, recognition will generally be granted to a sorority or fraternity for a term of one academic year. Once recognized, a chapter is expected to remain in compliance with the terms of recognition. To view a copy of the recognition policy, please visit the Fraternity and Sorority Life website at www.greek.umd.edu. If you have questions or concerns regarding this process, please contact the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life at (301) 314 – 7172. Sincerely,
