DESIGN - Winning Proposal The solution to the narrow frontage of the building is to provide dual purposes of the first floor to serve as the reception for the headquarters while fulfilling banking operation requirements. The first floor provides reception areas, lounge seating, as the living room for the headquarters. Banking functions can be closed off from the general spaces, allowing lounge areas to remain accessible throughout the operation hours. The second floor is an extension of the firstfloor banking and office facilitates to support private banking. The third floor hosts two separate functions, a Conference Center and the Customer Service Center. The Conference Center provides meeting rooms ranging from six to twenty guests to support the entire office building’s internal and external meetings. The Customer Service Center provides private touch down spaces to further in person customer relationships.
Architecture by SED-IA Architects
The fourth floor meeting hall can house 200300 people for a variety of activities such as training or sales events. A large pre-function area was planned to further support the function calls for more space.

DESIGN - First Proposal SCHEME 1: WALKING THROUGH THE FOREST From reflective surfaces that pull you into the interior forest to playful sculptures, this interior environment evokes imagery of a satisfied life. The heart of this design is the suspended second floor wrapped in LED panels. This “floating box” alternates in projecting forest imagery and video content displaying Shin Kong Life’s corporate vision. SCHEME 2: SECRET GARDEN By separating the first floor into two distinct interior plant-filled spaces, the central garden elegantly blurs the indoor/outdoor relationship. This design solution delved into Shin Kong Life’s desire to give back to the community through shared multifunctional spaces. The entry lobby can be opened up to the garden allowing for larger audiences to enjoy Shin Kong’s sponsored musical performances and other cultural activities.
ENTRY
Both schemes explore design decisions to reflect Shin Kong’s corporate values of innovation, service, sincerity, and community service.
