A Primary Education Ministry of Christ the King Parish
A Letter from the Principal
Dear Christ the King Community,
This past year saw the world and country continue to grapple with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, and for the second school year in a row, Christ the King School had a terrific year. There were times of turbulence but the community again rose to the occasion and supported each other. As the school year came to a close there was a distinct feeling of returning to normal with parents back on campus as volunteers for our Field Days, classes traveling off-campus for field trips, and beautiful end-of-year school traditions celebrated as a full community. In some ways, the 2022-2023 school year was more difficult than last year, but in other ways, it showed just how much potential there is at CKS for future endeavors and how bright our future looks for our school and parish. As the school community takes a collective breath over the summer months, we pause for a moment to reflect. We reminisce about the events of the year like the most successful Crown Affair in school history and one of the most well-attended Grandparents and Special Friends Days ever. We say thank you to Ms. Jennifer Harris, Ms. Sarah Witt, and Mr. Caleb Dinger for their service to CKS as they move on to new challenges. We offer a special note of thanks to Mrs. Deb Fay, former parent and current grandparent, who stepped in to assist in managing our Annual Giving Fund and helped us reach heights previously unimaginable. We excitedly welcomed Mrs. Teresa Davis, Mrs. Margo Thompson, Ms. Bailey Biggerstaff, and Mr. Shawn Sterling to our school community and thank them for bringing their ideas and energy to the students and community. And we look forward to what the future holds as renovation projects make steady progress all over the building, all made possible by the incredible generosity of the Christ the King Church and School community. More than ever, CKS is Always Thinking, Always Growing! Christ the King Church and School is truly a special and blessed place, and beyond that, we are a special and blessed community. That word, community, is the best word to encapsulate what makes everything we do here possible. The grace we experience, the feeling of the Holy Spirit working in and through each of us, is truly remarkable and awe inspiring. Thank you for being a part of our community and especially for your continued support of our school through prayer, volunteering, and charity. This ministry of the Church is only possible with the support of each person in our community, so on behalf of the students, faculty, and staff…THANK YOU! Sincerely in Christ, Mr. Alan Mila Principal
