Analysis Paper fan- Panel and Fold Processing One paper is on top another paper. 2 ways of sticking the papers:
1. sticking the edges
X33
There are 33 papers in total. All the ends are stuck together, and each 2. sticking the middle
paper works in an alternative sticking ways.

Finally, sticking the top and the bottom paper card onto the papers.
Paper fan- Panel and Fold Processing The changes of the angles when it is opening:
The angle between the papers ~1℃
The angle between the papers ~5℃
The angle between the papers ~11℃
The changes of the space when it is opening:
When the paper fan is opening, the horizontal space increased and the vertical gap decreased.

Add a line on the edge of both plane.
Rotate3D the edge in a horizontal level.
make the end becomes flat.
Then, trim and join the lines together, in order to create the above shape.

Sketch Design #1 What is your idea?
Gender/ Protection/ Space/ Round-
The design is mainly combined by two parts. First part:
The curves are only in the front but not the back.
Using the idea of cutting a paper fan into section, in order to create space and volume. Second part: it is also used the idea of folding to form a circle shape.

Side view
Both parts are designed in a rounded shape.
How does this respond to your personal space?
10
A personal space can be defined by several elements, that include gender. Female and male get different ‘ private parts’ of their body. Thus, in the view of being a woman, the front upper body part should be more protected. Besides, a rounded shape design tells the emotion of being friendly and no offences.
Sketch Design #2 What is your idea?
Emotion/ Layers/ Sharp/ Attack
Front view
Top view Different length of the paper sheet, in order to form a random or inregular shape.
It is putting on the neck which is our weakest part of the body for protection, and the object can be hold by the shoulder.
It can be opened as a paper fan, but there is two layers of the design as increasing the layering.
Cutting the middle circle to create sapce.
How does this respond to your personal space?
It is repersenting the emotion of anger, unhappy and anxious. The personal space will be larger when i get a negative emotion, and therefore, this design can keep away from the people and surrounding. 11
Sketch Design #3 This design is formed by a number of bow shape. They are connected by the angle/point of the folded paper.
What is your idea? Working space/ Sides/ Rotate
it is taken the feature of the tradational paper fan, which fold a sheet repectly. The bow will be put along the body shape, in a rotatating way.
The design considers the right hand side , which include right ear, arm, chest and back.
How does this respond to your personal space?
This design is considering the working space, which i am a right-handed person. My personal space of right hand side will be relatively larger than the left hand side. 12
