THIS SEMESTER I loved being an editor this semester. I have already learned a lot, whether it’s about team bonding, social skills, communication, or even how to use the software programs. Honestly, Using the design software is the most challenging part for me, and I think that goes for most of the editors. I think we are doing a really awesome job making up for the lack of knowledge on the actual programs. All of our editors have a really cool and unique eye for design, it’s just the execution that most of us struggle with, but, with help from you, Cooper, and the editors in chief, it’s nothing we can’t figure out. I mean, I can definitely say I know more about how to use Indesign than I did before, and that knowledge is very useful in the real world nowadays. As an editor, we have a little more responsibility, obviously, because we have to make up for what the staffers may lack, and we get the creative freedom to design our pages. As photo editors, it’s me and Coop’s job to coordinate with our photographers. We try to make sure they know what they want to capture, and if it’s more of a creative photo, we talk about that too. It is also our job to upload and edit the photos, which is definitely Cooper’s specialty. Honestly, I am so thankful for his guidance, I don’t know who else would put up with my constant questions.
