Welcome to the Royal Show, it means business in rural Britain A messa e from the President... I’m excited about the Royal Show. I’m excited as President of the Royal Agricultural Society of England but also as a businessman, a consumer and a chef. I think we should be talking about what’s great about farming in this country, make it aspirational and inspire a love of good quality food in the general public. Specifically, I think it’s vitally important that every restaurant in the country is promoting the great produce that is on their doorstep. A vibrant and successful Royal Show can play a very strong role in making that happen. John Torode, President of the RASE.
We ve listened to you! Feedback from exhibitors is vital to us: it tells us what you really think and means we can improve the things that are important to you. So, at the Royal Show 2009, you will see: • Focused marketing and PR initiatives including direct mail, print and online advertising. We are working harder to deliver more targeted visitors.
•A n improved Show layout including signage, maps and communication to help visitors find key areas and features around the Show.
• A BRAND-NEW website with a magazinestyle interface providing quick navigation, reasons to stay and come back and improved online ticketing.
• An extended and more comprehensive education area and trail, building on the success of 2008.
• Greater collaboration with media partners, key associations, societies and groups. • An improved vehicle access scheme for exhibitors, with a ‘no deposit’ system during build up. This is in addition to free parking for exhibitors on site during show open days in some locations.
