Recreational One of the main problem in the city of Bandung is that the traffic in this city is one of the worst traffic jam in the South East Asia. This could lead into the mental health of the people that need to face the traffic almost everyday. DAR.MA.GA’s goal is to give people a place where they can refresh their mind from the stressful life by facilitating stress-reliefing activity such as music show, community gathering, picnic, and enjoying the lake view. Contextual Climate context: Bandung is located in Indonesia which the climate status is tropical. Tropical climate tends to make people uncomfortable because of its hot and humid enviorenment. That is why this building uses a massive double skin that is facing the west side, overhangs, cross ventilations, and vegetations covering the outdoor circulation and plaza. Monumental In the pre-historic times, Bandung used to be an enormous lake with mountains alongside. In those times, the main transportation that people use are the boats. With that in mind, designing this building with elements of boat is relevant because of its history and site condition which located in front of a lake. Darmaga means pier or shore in sunda language and the building on the site represents the boat on the shore. Because of the boat-like building shape, people and tourists can indentify the simple form and get familiar to it so darmaga could be state as a landmark.

The West’s way to achieve utopia is very egoistic, because of its only focus to sustaining human’s life. Without nature, plants, animals, even the universe, human will perish. Menteng district is one of the ‘lively’ area in the city of Jakarta. With the high rate of productivity and mobility of the neighborhood, this area always feel like its very crowded with cars and motorcycle. Located near a train station, the people that came from around the city is also one thing that impacted the density of this district.
A public parking park could be the solution of the problems in this area. The public parking space can provide space for cars or motorcycle that used to park on the road side. This could create a safe environment for pedestrian and decrease the rate of traffic in that area. The main plaza of the park can be use for street food markets and a meeting point or a resting area for people passing by.

The main goal is; this space can become the place where people from different backgrounds can gather in one place without any forced initiative. The parking space and food plaza is where people from any background can come to use and enjoy.
