I was inspired by the fragments of colour breaking out from the grey surroundings in the two of the most famous cities in the world; the red buses in London and yellow taxis in New York. I found the style on the street reflected this juxtaposition of color in the what is otherwise a grey landscape.

In groups we presented a “hero” and “zero” brand for the category of women’s trainers. Our “hero” was Nike, a brand which we felt was at the top of its game and really understood their consumer. We chose Reebok as our “zero” brand, as we felt they just weren’t reaching their target market as well as they could be. After a brief overview of the industry, and a break down of each brand, we incorporated a range of primary and secondary research to support our argument, as well as suggesting improvements for Reebok.


HERO & ZERO


My colour story connotes a gentle, poetic and romantic theme and is called, “Frosted purple with an ethereal twist, oozing with a timeless grace�. With the complementary, flowing colour palette my focus has been on interior design specially in the bedroom and living rom. With the graceful and elegant theme of my colour story, I have applied my palette to Zara Home, a brand which demonstrates the timelessness of key home pieces.

In a group activity we were asked to deliver a presentation debating against the statement, “Fashion does more damage than good�. Our focus was on the consumer, and we carried out a survey of 100 people and spilt the presentation into four main categories: identity, accessibility (body image), accessibility (environment) and environment.


FASHION DEBATE


The brief was to produce an image with the theme of an “object of desire�. I exaggerated and amplified the typical stereotype of a girly girl, by placing toy ponies taking a selfie wearing lipstick, whilst being surrounded by other pieces of make up and pink items.


OBJECT OF DESIRE


After applying a range of Photoshop manipulations to a series of photographs of Kendall Jenner I created several layouts for an independent style fashion magazine. I use my blog, “Oh So Jem� to reflect on the course, share my view, opinions and I also write make up reviews, beauty and fashion related posts.
