MAY 25- On this overnight trip we visit three of the Seven Natural Wonders of Georgia! We travel Southwest to our first stop of the day, Radium Springs. Located on the East side of the Flint River in Albany, GA this natural Spring pumps 70,000 gallons per minute of clear, 68-degree water from an underground cave and is now an ecological & environmental Park. Walk through the courtyard where the former 1920’s Radium Springs Casino once stood, enjoy foliage-draped hillocks, crystal clear waters and flora both indigenous and exotic. The park features a restored terrace, new sidewalks, a casino garden and gazebos. Our next stop is Providence Canyon State Park also known as Georgia’s “Little Grand Canyon”. A testament to the power of man's influence on the land is manifested by the massive gullies running as deep as 150 feet which were simply caused by poor farming practices during the 1800s, yet today, they make for some of the prettiest photographs within the state. Check into our hotel in Columbus, GA and enjoy an included dinner! D

Our final stop President Roosevelt’s Little White House Historic Site in the FDR State Park. Built in 1923 whilst FDR was governor of New York, he had hoped that the buoyant spring waters of the area would help improve his polio affliction. It was here that he developed many of his New Deal programs and in April 1945 suffered a stroke and passed away whilst posing for a portrait. OCT 14th- Escape into the Blue Ridge Mountains to admire nature’s colors at their best! Our first stop is Dahlonega, the Appalachian town famous for a certain color: gold! Lunch on your own downtown before discovering “there’s Gold in that there Dahlonega Gold museum!” View massive gold nuggets, mine maps and equipment and learn how in 1849, Dahlonega became the country’s first gold rush town, twenty years before the California gold rush. Tonight, we’ll dine at the historic Smith House, which has been doling out delicious family style country cooking since 1922. As the legend goes, original owner Captain Hall literally struck gold as he broke ground on his home. During a renovation in 2006, an employee punched a hole through the floor directly into a mine shaft! Today the mine shaft opening is the centerpiece of an exhibit that digs deep into the history of Dahlonega at the Smith House. Spend the night in the nearby town of Helen, GA. D OCT 15th-Following breakfast we head to the town of Blue Ridge, GA to hop on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway.
