During my internship, I performed trip coordination and digital marketing duties. I created a social media strategy plan, a promotional video for SCW and went on a construction trip to Honduras. While in Honduras I coordinated team members during a school renovation project. I gained a new understanding of how nonprofits work and what goes into planning large projects and events. The internship gave me experience in digital marketing, graphic design and enabled me to go on an inspiring international trip.

Going behind the scenes, farther than stage managers and actors, this internship has given me a new perspective of what goes on in a marketing and communications department. The hands-on opportunity has enhanced my knowledge of the marketing and PR world by providing an array of non-traditional intern projects including video filming and editing, designing posters, creating partnerships with local restaurants and hotels, meeting deadlines, conducting market research, facilitating social media work and partaking in marketing meetings. The combination of hard work and being treated like a coworker, not an intern, produced a successful internship experience.
