As an aspiring architect, I am constantly developing creative solutions that could optimize both cultural and social operations. Architecture presents itself as a medium to deliver structural, aesthetic, and environmental means that also contextualize the social and cultural values. I adamantly seeks ways to design architectures that promote in social and cultural values, ecological services, and economic feasibility. A KIT OF PARTS TO WHOLE 02

THE ESSENTIAL AND EXCESSIVE
ALBERTO CAMPO BAEZA, A POET’S HOUSE|TO LIVE TO DREAM TO SLEEP The Essence
The architect designed a house for dreaming, living, and dying. The minimalist sketches extract the quintessential concepts of the house for a poet. The house itself acts as a platonic volume inserting in a platform. The three different levels reveal the programs, bedroom at the floor buried underground; living space connecting to the garden, and a library constructed with high walls diffused through translucent glass. The essential models farther extract the concepts into abstract form and volumes. The bedroom underground is shown with heavier material to signify its symbolism for space of dying. The excess drawing focuses on representing the house itself in context of the neighborhood in Zaragoza, Spain. The different typology for the surround residential accentuate the presence of the Moliner House.

The specificity of site challenges the students to incorporate contextual movement into and around the building design. The students are given the opportunities to overlap diverse programs into the volumetric pattern. PLAN MASSING
FACADE
As one walks down the street from either direction, they can get a glimpse of artistic activities through the windows. The sole intention of the angled facade is to introduce both visual and physical interaction with the process of creating arts. The visual access into the building welcomes both local artists and community to participate in the artistic experience.

PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY AMPLITUDE AND EXACTITUDE|PRESERVE PRESIDENTIAL MEMORY
This presidential library seeks to preserve the presidential voices. It was since 1922 when the first American President broadcast his speech to the nation, delivering the speech directly to the people. Till today, the presidential address has senses of commonality and accessibility to the way presidents project their voices to the nation and the world. The acoustic memory of each American president amplifies the progression of history and politics in the United States. The acoustic memory of each American president amplifies the progression of history and politics in the United States. The acoustic gallery beneath the mounds broadcast the presidential voices as a “stagged conversation involving specific political issues: civil rights, global terrorism, international relations, national defense, education, and environment. The scale and expansion of the mounds indicate the impacts of the political issues and collection of archived voices. The presidential library also invites the community the project their voices toward the other end of the Cumberland River. The interactive broadcast centers surrounding the exhibition acts as the agency to help community participating in the making of acoustic memory.

MISTY INDIGO ANCHOR A COMMUNITY IN MEXICAN TOWN, DETROIT While designing for the trend of scaler living, the firm aJ² reserves the public domain as social thresholds for the residents by focusing on the surface of gathering at different scales. Within dwelling units, the table surface becomes the aggregation of family story and collective memory. As the design team zooms out to the scale of site, the courtyard design becomes a continuous surface with different nodes of gathering, from a more communal use of food truck deck, a residential misty courtyard, to children playground.

SITE AND ORGANIZATION STRATEGY The firm aJ² proposed design enables such a dynamic surface to distinguish itself in both an internal and external manner. The prefabricated component, comprised of a brick veneer frame, wide glazed aperture, and warm interior wooden lining, illustrates the weight and dynamic nature of the table. The components anchor themselves to a strategic corner of each dwelling located along the internal, courtyard oriented facade. Such positioning serves as both a window into the life of a particular family or individual, as well as an aperture out and across towards other inhabitant’s displayed relations. The anchors articulate a range of activities and relationships of familial and solitary qualities which flicker across the facade and animate the site. The site organization address the site primarily through the unresolved corner and prominent street conditions. By creating a prominent focal point along the intersection of Palm Street and Vernor Highway - the team wishes to fuse the public way with that of the inner, more residential focused courtyard. The food truck service area becomes the buffer at the corner for both neighborhood and residents to come together. With a large oak tree marking the edge between the food truck service area and residential courtyard, the social thresholds suddenly becomes more private and intimate for the residents.
