Editors Note: Hey All! The last few months the SP Space team has become really close. This led to the focus of this edition to be on the SP family. Being part of the wider SP family is great, being part of this SP Space family is an honour. I used to think I was alone in this world being a SP fan, how wrong I was! Being an astronaut has changed my life and the lives of so many fans all over the world. I love this poem that I found on facebook, (author unknown) this sums up how I feel about my online friends. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=287185148059753&set=a.251585528286382.49047.249128921865376&type=1&theater
I am once again blown away by how much these people mean to me and how much we are willing to do for each other. Chuck often tweets how much he loves that we support each other, I think that our family would make him proud. So I sent out a message to fellow astronauts asking for people to tell their experiences of being part of the SP family. Be warned you will laugh and most likely cry, so have some tissues handy! Once again thanks to the team who work so hard on this magazine. Thanks also to Martin who supports me every step of the way. Huge thanks also to Simpleplan.cz who has supported us and shares photos and SP news. Hope you all enjoy this edition. Peace, Jen

Get to know the band: Part 4
Written by Karoline Hov. Twitter: @KarolineHov1
February 12th 2008 , the day so many people around the world were waiting for. Simple Plan was released. No, not the band, but their self-titled and third studio album. 11 new tracks for the world to enjoy. This album was different than the previous two for many reasons. Let’s use the album cover as an example. The first album cover that was released in early December 2007 was not welcomed very well by the fans. Pierre actually had to defend the artwork on his MySpace blog. This resulted in a second album cover, released on December 12th. The band then invited the fans to say their opinion on which of the two they prefered. Simple Plan themselves indicated that they were happy with both of the covers. On December 14th the decision was made and the 2nd album cover was chosen.
3 singles were released from this album, When I’m Gone, Your Love Is A Lie and Save You. Save You is probably one of the most emotional songs ever made by Simple Plan. Pierre wrote this when his brother, Jay, was fighting cancer. Pierre has in interviews said that this was a very tough time for him and writing Save You was his way of dealing with it. This album also had a lot more pop and hip-hop elements. When I’m Gone is a true evidence on that. Holding On is also a good example. Between the lines Pierre sings there’s some rapping. Chuck was actually the one who did these rapping parts. Despite their ”change of style” their sound was still pretty much the same. The songs still had deep meanings and they were still the same guys from Montreal, Canada. Because of their great success with this album Simple Plan were yet again able to tour all over the world.
FRIENDS FOREVER
written by Eleanor
Many people say it, few people mean it but Pierre, David, Chuck, Sébastien and Jeff are and have been best friends forever. The picture on the right is Simple Plan in thier teens playing in Chuck’s basement.
Their friendship began back in the early days of 1993 with the formation of the band Reset which included Pierre, Chuck and two other members. Chuck and Pierre became the greatest of friends back then and have been ever since. Chuck and Pierre even though they were great mates they argued alot.
2 years later Chuck met up with High school friends Jeff and Sébastien which were at the time in separate
bands of their own, joined together and created the band Simple Plan. A short while after Chuck was reunited with Pierre and slowly convinced him to leave Reset and join together in their band. David replaced Pierre’s spot in Reset but six months later he too left the band and came to join Simple Plan. Seb’s brother Jay was friends with Jeff, that is how they met. As Sébastien says in the movie ‘A big package for you’ there will never be a moment where he feels that he’s alone because he knows that the guys are always there for him and each other. They have been friends for over 15 years and they have been through everything together, they have stuck by each other through everything and no matter what happens they know that they will always be friends no matter what.
Tonight I’m feeling like an Astronaut…
by SINJA
We’re from different countries, we speak different languages, we’re all different, yet we’re all the same. We’re all Astronauts. We all have one thing in common: The love for Simple Plan. And that is what connects people from all over the world. But we’re more than just a bunch of fans. We’re far more than that… Joining the Simple Plan Fandom a few years ago is probably one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life. I remember people referring to the fandom as the SPFamily. It took me a while to understand why they did that. Everybody had a different story. There were people who have been in the fandom for many, many years and then there were people like me, the newcomers, the rookies. But still, we were all connected in some way. I felt so welcome and the energy in the fandom was just amazing. I’ve built up friendships with people from all over the world, I even got one of the girls at my school to listen to Simple Plan. And guess what? Today she’s my best friend. But some people say we’re not a strong fandom. Some even say that we’re falling apart. And if I’m being honest, that hurts me. Yes, we are fighting a lot, we have different opinions but isn’t that what a family does? We fight, but still, we’re a family! We respect each other and when we need it, we’re there for each other. The SPFamily has been there for me when I needed it the most. They’ve helped me through one of the hardest times of my life and believe me, no one in this fandom is weak. They’re all fighters. Some of them have been to hell and back but they’re still here. While doing some research for this article, I’ve read a lot of stories about the SPFamily. About how thankful people feel for being in this fandom and how many amazing people they’ve met. I also remembered something that Chuck said a while ago: “I always hoped that SP would impact people’s lives around the world but I don’t think I could ever imagined how amazing the SP family has become. I still can’t believe that some of you met your best friends because of our music. That some of you went through tough times thanks to our songs and are still here today because you had our music to help you…that always makes me so emotional and proud. It’s also very humbling. We thank you so much for supporting this band and allowing us in your lives. It’s very special to know that some of you grew up with us and had their 1st kiss to one of our songs, went through their 1st breakup listening to our albums, got through school playing our music…It’s so amazing. Makes me so happy. I really hope that Get Your Heart On! will be one of those albums that will be part of your lives. I know it will be a gigantic chapter in mine.” And that’s another point. The connection that we have with “our” band is amazing. They care about us, they want to know our stories, they believe in this fandom. They’re trying their best to support as much as we support them. They always try to help us and they never fail to amaze me with their kindness. The people I’ve met because of Simple Plan have affected my life just as much as the band itself. And I know that, even if Simple Plan as a band can’t last forever, the love for this band and the friendships I’ve built up because of them will.
SONG OF THE MONTH: Astronaut Written by Maddie
@MaddieBirkett
“Being human is the most terrible loneliness in the universe” AA Attansio. The song ‘Astronaut’ was a huge turning point for Simple Plan fans all over the world. Fans everywhere, no matter who they are or where they are from, are now known as Astronauts. Although it’s taken about 12 years, we finally have a name to call ourselves, just like many other fan clubs for other artists. We now have a theme song, and although this song is about being lonely and having no one, the song also makes us realise that we aren’t alone; all Astronauts have each other’s backs. You can find this song on Simple Plan’s newest album, Get Your Heart On. The video clip for Astronaut is one of my favourite music videos. It’s really smart and creative using an Astronaut to show the same meaning but in a different way. Using an Astronaut, who are usually separated from human life for long periods of time, instead of an average person. Also having no contact with real life, it was like the Astronaut was all alone on his own planet and he even tried connecting with human life but failed. He then sees the first sign of real life when he finds the bug. Of course, during the video it not only shows the Astronaut but also the guys of Simple Plan rocking out the song, in which looks like the middle of nowhere, like their own separate planet. The Astronaut then realises he’s not alone, finding another Astronaut and then is brought back to reality with one kiss. It’s a love story, performance and a lesson all in one. The lyrics of ‘Astronaut’ are really relatable, although not all of us can say that we have the job title of an Astronaut, majority of us can say that there has been at least one time in our life where we have felt alone. But the truth is, we’re not. We may not have a soul mate yet or a relationship, but we have each other. “Can anybody hear me? Or am I talking to myself? My mind is running empty, in the search for someone else who doesn’t look right through me. It’s all just static in my head. Can anybody tell me why I’m lonely like a satellite?” These lyrics show what everyone feels. Not feeling like anyone is listening, like you’re talking to yourself, wanting to find someone who understands you, not just with you for other reasons and of the comparison to a satellite makes sense, being in space floating around the atmosphere all alone. Thank you Simple Plan for continuing to show us that we are not alone and for giving us hope. There’s so much more to thank SP for, but let’s face it, we can’t fit that all in one article! Read the rest of the articles to find out how some people found their best friends through Simple Plan, whether it started from meeting them at their shows to RTing an SP related tweet.
WE ASKED?? How does the song Astronaut make you feel? Fans replied: Karoline Everything. It describes the way I feel perfect! It makes me feel better :) Erin ‘astronaut’ is the new ‘welcome to my life’ for me. Back in high school WTML gave me so much comfort when I felt like the world was against me. Today when I listen to astronaut I feel the same security I did back in high school. Astronaut reminds me that I’m never truly alone, once an astronaut, always an astronaut :) Sian To me Astronaut means that whenever i feel like I’m alone, I’m not. SP family will always be there. Sonia For me the song astounats means the friendship between us (simple plan fans). When I listen to this song I know that I’m not alone and if I feel bad I know that I can count on my big astronauts family Jodie this song reminds me when u r lonely u aint alone there r others just as lonely.
Mark When I saw this song live it made me cry, I had no idea of the impact it would have on me to see and hear everyone singing it and waving the lights. We are not alone! Jen W I was looking out around the crowd, it was so unbelievable beautiful and amazing I loved it. Susie Seeing this song live was amazing, all the lights from people phone’s moving was spectauclar. Love it.
THE SP FAMILY Each month the editors get together and decide on a theme for the next issue. One day I was looking through Tumblr at SP pics, as I do often and I came across this from http://pink-astronaut.tumblr.com/ and it got me thinking how great it is to be part of the SP Family. We decided that it was a sweet idea for this edition. I contacted Natalie on facebook and asked her if I could use this piece in the magazine. As a fellow member of the SP family would do she said yes, and we are now friends!
Don’t forget that we are all ASTRONAUTS and the things that bond us together are stronger than the things that tear us apart. Don’t forget all the times we get together and vote for things and win!! or when we get together and get something to trend on twitter!!! Don’t forget how amazing it is to go to a Simple Plan show and be surrounded by other astronauts, the feeling of being in a room with SP and everyone, and even though you don’t know anyone, you all still have a connection, we are all one, we all love this band, and we all love their music and understand how it feels to be an astronaut, to be alone. But we have each other, always. I will never not help an astronaut if you are going through a hard time, or just need someone to talk to and I know almost all of us are like that. Even if we have different ideas and are on different sides, we can still come together as one <33 Calling all astronauts if you even need anything I am always here!! even if I don’t answer right away don’t worry I will!!! You can come to me on here or my twitter @pink_seb or even my facebook. http://www.facebook.com/natalie.reinke.12 I will always be there for you, and that is what being a astronaut is all about, loving this band and being there for each other, its about damn time we go back to that. http://pink-astronaut.tumblr.com/ You can contact Natalie on @pink_Seb or http://www.facebook.com/natalie.reinke.12 Thanks Natalie! Your words are so true!
My SP Family Story....by
Jen
I first heard of Simple Plan when I’m Just A Kid was released. I bought the album and listened to it all the time. My friends thought I was mad and obsessed(and they would be right!). I did not care but found that after the third album came out that I felt like I was really alone when it came to loving SP. Then that all changed!!!. I used to only use facebook and not twitter. I decided to get twitter just to follow SP and within days I was chatting to people from all over the world who loved SP as much as me. On twitter I met three people from Perth, two of them I met at Melbourne SC for real and one when he came over for a holiday. Two of these I keep in touch with still. Little did I know that going to Melbourne SC would change my social media life! After the Concert I joined a facebook page that was about The Australian Tour. I noticed that someone had posted that she really wanted a tour poster that she could not get at the Melbourne concert. When I noticed that they were for sale from the merch store online (a week later) I quickly inboxed her to tell her where she could purchase one. We got chatting and she added me to a closed facebook group. In this group I have met people that have changed my life. It is difficult to explain just how much these people mean to me when I have not met many of them in real life and in reality I will not ever meet a few of them (They live all over the world). The Creator of the group I have met as we went to see Maroon 5 together. As we had online we hit it off straight away. It was great to be able to verbalise some of our in jokes in the group. We also bumped into another member of the group which was great! One member that I met has become a really close friend as we share other interests and we always agree on so many things, I love our in jokes and how we well just get each other. This group ranges in ages from 14 to over 40. It is great that the 3 youngest members of the group are great friends with the oldest member (ok yes the oldest member is me!) It does not matter what our ages are, what sex we are, where we live or other interests, we all love Simple Plan. We tease each other, joke around, annoy each other just like a normal family I guess! (just need to add “He is mine” to a certain member! You know who you are!) If we are sick or sad we post to help each other, we have something to celebrate we post to celebrate. I can be myself, no pretences, just who I am. So I guess like a family that we want?) This group certainly changed my life. One member has become the sister/ best friend I have always I dreamed, I tell her everything, we share everything, and we have not met. No way we would have ever met otherwise, she lives 7 hours drive away. We will be meeting each other at Sound Wave next year if not before! Everyday I thank SP for this, I encourage you all to reach out to other SP fans, we are unique just as SP are unique. Oh and Simple Plan? THANK YOU!! Photo : line up for Melb SC.
SP FAMILY Helps each other...... Even at my age, I have copped a lot of flack about being a Simple Plan fan. Friends just don’t seem to understand what an impact the guys have made on my life. Therefore, the day I stumbled across a post advertising a new Australian facebook group where we could share our experiences and memories from the latest concert, I jumped at the chance to join. Never in 100 years could I have imagined what an impact this group of strangers would have on my life. Early this year, my dad was diagnosed with cancer. One of his wishes was that we didn’t tell anyone. I’m a pretty private person anyway, and tried to respect his wishes, but it was tough, and eventually I did confide in a few close friends. My relationship with my dad could be taken straight from the lyrics of “Perfect”, we had our ups and downs, but he was still my father, and I found myself constantly fighting the internal demons that come with such a diagnosis. Not wanting to dump my problems on my friends, I slowly withdrew more and more into a life of seclusion, cranking my music louder and keeping most of what was really going on and how I was feeling to myself. In issue one of this magazine you may have read my story about taking my tribe of kids to the Melbourne concert, but what I didn’t share was that my dad was raced to hospital the day before we set off, the first of many, trips to hospital. The emotional torment, should we go or not took its toll on all of us that night. But ultimately, it was this concert that saved this astronaut from a life on isolation. I don’t know why it’s easier telling strangers your problems. That anonymity that allows you to speak your mind, but within this new group, I found a voice to talk about how I was feeling about my dad’s situation. There were others in the group who had similar situations and I took strength through their stories. As the weeks went by, the pics and posts would help me get through the bad days. We joked that we no longer checked our news feed, virtually living within the group, our own private sanctuary where it was ok to be ourselves. We had SP dress up days where we wore our SP t-shirts and posted pictures for the rest of the group to share. We lived so far apart, some even in other corners of the globe, but we could still have days like this where we could all join in. I couldn’t believe how close we all were becoming; we had never met, but had that one common factor that had brought us all together, our love for Simple Plan. Here was a group of people that understood me. I could tell them about my fears and anxieties regarding dad’s health without fear of judgement. When things got tough and I tried to withdraw, there was always an inbox to check I was OK. My real life friends didn’t do that, in fact there were some I hadn’t heard of in months. On Father’s day my mum rang to say she had called the ambulance for dad again. I thought this was going to be just like his other trips to the hospital. Having sick kids I knew they wouldn’t allow us to visit him, so presumed I’d give him a few days before catching up for a belated father’s day. How wrong I was. I remember inboxing a group member 2 days later and telling her what was happening. This person, who I had never met, yet who had almost become my best friend and confidant kept me going long into the night as I waited for family to arrive from interstate. When dad passed away the next morning, I felt I had to be strong for my kids, my mum, and my family all while respecting my dad’s wish that even his passing be kept private, but I also knew I couldn’t do this on my own. As I looked at my phone trying to work out who to contact, there was a message from that same group member that had kept me semi sane the night before checking to see how we all were doing. Someone did care. As often happens living in a somewhat small town, my friends did find out. Some came to visit and offered their help to clean my house along with their awkward condolences, but that’s not what I needed. I wanted to laugh, to be distracted and I wanted to be free to talk and cry if and when I needed, and I got that from my fellow astronauts.
written by Leeann @adnaxar
As the days ticked by, there were times I felt I was barely holding it all together. I had gone back to work, more as an escape than anything else. I was struggling to keep it all together. The day before dad’s funeral I came home from work after a stressful shift to find a package on my doorstep. I was exhausted physically and mentally as I fumbled to open it. The only way to describe that gift that day was a care package. My Simple Plan family..... strangers, from around there world had opened up their arms and embraced me with messages of support. There were pages of emails, a card as well as a collage of SP pics and quotes as well as screen shots of those funny conversations we had had in the group. I was overwhelmed. I must admit, I couldn’t get through the first page of messages, but I sat there holding them as I finally let the emotions of the past week out, as did my niece when I showed her. I could not believe these people had done this for me. They gave me the strength to get through the next day.
On September 22nd Chuck tweeted “I get so stoked when SP fans tell me they met their best friends at one of our shows or thanks to our music. Love to hear those stories!” I thought about that tweet all day. I wanted to tell him about what my SP family had done for me when dad passed away, but how could I sum up their support, friendship, love, compassion and understanding in 140 characters. It took 17 hours; a lot of Dutch courage and ultimately a conversation we were having in the group that night to finally build up the nerve to reply to Chuck’s tweet. When my phone sounded a little while later, I was expecting the usual good morning tweet from one of the guys. Like many of you, I had tweeted the guys before, but I had never had a reply. What I saw left me without a doubt that Simple Plan is the most awesome group of guys on the planet. Chuck had not only read my tweet, but he had replied. In my card was written the following SP lyrics, “When you don’t think you can take no more, you might find what you’re searching for. Just around the corner” Well, I can honestly say I have found what I was looking for. Not only have I found a group that I love, but through them I have an amazing group of friends that accept me for who I am. I love each and every one of you. Thank you will never be enough to repay everything you have done for me, and I can’t wait for the day until we can finally meet. xoxo <3 To other SP fans who may feel alone, I encourage to reach out to other SP groups or members. Your SOS will be answered and your will be accepted as you are, another addition of the growing SP family.
SIMPLE PLAN. Two simple words. Two words which have significantly changed the lives of SP astronauts worldwide. I have found myself now asking, "What would be one word to describe this band?" To describe this band in one word would be literally impossible. No words would do them justice. Like many other fans, Simple Plan is my biggest role model and my heroes. They have changed my life in ways I could not have imagined.
I have been a fan of SP since the days of NP, NH, JB in 2002 at the age of 13. Growing up I listened to Simple Plan religiously. On a bad day I would plug in my earphones and blast SP from my discman (yes, we had those when I was growing up!!). Whatever mood I was in, SP’s music would calm me down or simply make my day better. When my Dad left my family when I was 13 years old, I didn’t see him for years at a time. It was pretty tough on my family. I remember one time I sent my Dad a cd with a few songs on it, one of them was “Perfect.” It was almost as if Simple Plan wrote this song for me to send to my Dad. Everything they wrote about not feeling perfect and wanting to make a parent proud, was exactly how I felt when my Dad left. In 2005, my Dad and I reconnected for the first time. For my 16th Birthday present my Dad took me and my two friends to SP’s concert on 8th October at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne. Even though I was up the back, just being there with Dad and my two closest friends was a moment I would never forget. My biggest dream of mine was to meet the boys from Simple Plan. I guess the point of telling you my back story/childhood history is for you to understand how meeting Simple Plan has changed my life even more.
Four months ago my childhood dreams as a tween came true. On the 2nd June in Melbourne, I met Simple Plan for the very first time. It was a day I will never forget. It is mind boggling to think that I was a part of the world’s largest Sound Check to date (160+ astronauts lined up for hours in the cold to meet SP). It’s amazing how a band can bring so many people together. Standing in the line I met 3 girls from talking about our obsession with SP. It still feels surreal to think that I have met the boys from Simple Plan. My favourite members have always been Pierre and Sebastien so meeting them for the first time was a moment never to forget. One particular moment which is very vivid in my mind was the first time I met Jeff. I told Jeff about my Grandfather passing away while I was very sick in hospital the day before their concert in Melbourne 2011. He gave me a hug and said “I hope you are ok.” To which I wanted to reply “I am thanks to you,” but all I could manage was “thanks” because I was mind-blown! Due to this excitement and feeling well beyond the clouds, I created a group on facebook in the hope that I could meet fellow astronauts and talk about the meet and greet. What I didn’t expect was that the people who later joined would soon become my online SP family. We talked about anything and everything to do with SP. We became close very quickly. Even though I have not met all of these astronauts in my group, I look forward to the day we can all be officially reunited. I was very fortunate when Jen sent me an email asking me if I wanted to come to Maroon 5 in Melbourne with her. It was bizziare when we met face to face because it had felt that we have known each other for years. Yet in reality we only met for the first time at Maroon 5’s concert and have been talking to each other since June this year. I am sure that other astronauts would agree with me when I say, regardless of the years between us, it means nothing when we all love SP as much as we all do. When you love a band they become a part of who you are, and with my new SPfamily we can all be ourselves. So back to my question, one word that I would use to describe the band is family. To other astronauts feeling as though you are alone, you are not. Don’’t be afraid to reach out. You may find yourself with amazing friends like I did. It seems like Simple Plan were always there. Because of the song Perfect, “my dad and I are closer than we used to be.” If there is one thing that SP taught me it would be that “it’s ok to be myself.” Peace out ^_^ Astronaut Lenore @SPastronautNore
SADLY A SP FAMILY Bullying story
Last month I became aware of a bullying story of one of the admins of a great SP facebook page. All names will not be mentioned for privacy reasons. Both the contributor and myself do not feel any ill feelings towards these people. Hi thanks for letting me talk to you about this upsetting time for you. Recently you experienced some cyber bullying by some members of the SP family. Can you tell me a little about what happened? Well, two fans told me that, on my website, I posted some photos of the Simple Plan’s private life, for example Pierre and Lachelle, and that posting photos from their official twitter is a rude thing. I felt very sad cause on my website I don’t want to hurt anyone. I saw that the other sites posted that photos so I thought “why don’t I post these photos on my site too?”. I made a mistake but they told me these things like they were threatening me. I said that I was so sorry but, for them, it was not enough. Could you believe that they were actually from the SP family? I really don’t know but I don’t think so, because I know many people from the real SP family and, when I make mistakes, they say that I’m wrong with kind words and not threatening me with bad words. Did anyone else help you through this time? Yes, a very nice person. She helped me by talking with these fans, trying to understand why they were so bad with me. I felt protected. I know that I can always count on the real fans that care about Simple Plan and the other fans that are in trouble and not. Any advice for anyone else who has been bullied by other members of the SP family? I saw many situations like this one. I’d like to say to these people 2 things: the first is to be always kind and don’t be immediately angry cause courtesy is the best weapon (that’s what we say in Italy). The second is don’t be afraid of their threats because they can’t do anything to you and true fans will always be by your side and help you if you need anything. Do you have any advice for the bullies?
written by Jen
To these kind of people I’d like to say only one thing: before talking with someone think about what you’re going to say cause your words can really hurt someone.
LOVE IS THE WORD.......... Anti Bullying Campaign I met Caroline in a SP fb group. When I asked for reader contributions about the SP family she answered. We got chatting and this is the result!

We help people understand bullying and its affects on society. We give advice on how to handle situations. Most importantly, we motivate people to Stand Up to Bullying. This Campaign is for anyone that being bullied, anyone who has been bullied and for those who just won’t take bullying any more. Together we WILL end Bullying! You mentioned when we met that SP had inspired you to do this? Simple Plan has showed me that if you put your mind to it you can reach your dream. I use that every day when someone tells me that my campaign is not worth it, even though it is. They told that we could do anything. If I’ve never found out about them I would not have started this campaign and I would probably be dead. Have SP assisted you in any way in your life? When I was younger I was bullied a lot because I couldn’t read. As the years went by I became depressed and started cutting. Everyone picked on me and made jokes about cutting and suicide. The thing they didn’t know is that I cried every single night wishing things would get better, and because I felt it wasn’t I almost killed myself. When my classmates found out that I tried to kill myself they started emailing me words like I wished you died and stuff like that. Those days I didn’t go to school I was in my room with my iPod and laptop, listening to Simple Plan and searching things on Simple Plan. They made me happy and changed my mind. A few days before my 14th birthday I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. It made so much sense but so little. I am living proof, that music saves lives. And Simple Plan saved mine. How can people help you campaign? Our goal is to end bullying; you can support your Facebook page http://www. facebook.com/LUVistheWord You can follow us on twitter; @LUVistheWORD You can share the word to your friends. But most importantly Stand Up for yourself or someone that is being bullied. You can email me anytime if you need to talk to someone you, email: loveistheword514@gmail.com we will always be there. What is the Link to it? Our website is; http://standuptobullie.blogspot.ca/ Is there any advice for other people who have experienced what you sadly did? What I can say is that you are worth every single second. I am sure that you want to stop the hate and the easiest way is to Stand up to those bullies, if you are too shy, talk to someone you trust. No matter how much hate there is LOVE will be x1000 Stronger.
We met through SP! We met at the airport in Brazil while we were looking for Simple Plan. @mandy0ca
@SilviaBeividas me and my BFF.
Being a part of SP family is amazing because it's like having another family... And you've always got them to pick you back up when you are down. @SimpleplanURock Chloe - I met these awesome as people in this group on FB, they are soo amazing and they are very welcoming and awesome SP fans... I feel like they already know me and they are all very nice... Vit贸ria -This year I had the opportunity to meet two Simple Plan fans. One by the Twitter and the other by Instagram. The one that i met by twitter is called Leticia, she has a site of Simple Plan. And I wanted to talk to her because I wanted to go to the show Simple Plan would do in S茫o Paulo in 18th October 2012. She gave so much information, but, unfortunately, I couldn't go. Also, I just discovered that she's going to meet them in the sound check! And the other one is from Mexico, and she met the boys and took a lot of photos. I hope to meet them someday too and also give information to other fans.
Caroline -The Simple Plan family has changed my life in so many ways. Knowing that the SP family will always be there for me, they have always been there for me, they care and they will always listen. They will always understand. If I'm having a bad day no one else would understand me like they do, but they will, they will always support me. Just like with my Anti Bullying Campaign named Love is the Word. And to this day, I wouldn't be here if Simple Plan wasn't but most importantly if the SP family wasn't there too.
Simple Plan concert and Interview in Mexico by Ale This month I met another SP fan, this time it was Ale from Mexico who was lucky enough to interview Chuck and Seb for TV Joven Musica. Check out the interview here! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XD1viFqMHBk I asked Ale to share her experience. Once again I have now made a SP friend this time from Mexico! Ale’s first language is Spanish, so forgive any translation mistakes! When I got the call that I was interviewing Simple Plan, I could not contain my excitement. That band was one of the first bands I’ve listen to and their songs some of the first bands I listened to in English (I’m Mexican tho haha) . To be honest I don’t consider myself an astronaut but I’m deff a fan. I love their song Perfect and right now I’m loving Jet Lag in both versions (expecting for a Spanish one..) and Freaking me out with Alex (ATL). Two weeks later, I’m still a little bit star struck, both, Chuck and Sebastien were really nice and I totally have a lot a respect for them. As I said during the little chat I had with them, I really admire that they have been on the scene for more than a decade. At the end of the interview I got to talk to his manager, and wow he's really awesome too. I also got to meet the rest of Simple Plan and take a pic too. I’m still in shock by the amount of fans they have around the world and how passionate they are, especially about Mexicans astronauts. I am definitely looking forward to more Simple Plan shows in Mexico. HEY! • 8 October 2012 - 5:27 PM - ALEJANDRA D. GARCIA If you can speak Spanish you can check out the newspaper article here. http://www.milenio.com/cdb/doc/noticias2011/14de99605b74e7ab9b33eaa14276f7eb If not I have attempted to translate it! Please forgive me if the translation is poor! Simple Plan performed their concert in Mexico City at the Auditorium Blackberry in front of 4000 fans. When the boys came on the stage they wore masks of the iconic fighters of Mexico and had a play fight. The set list was the same as ever with the beach balls and lights adding to the enjoyment of the night.. Simple Plan also played shows at Monterrey, Puebla and Guadalajara. Follow her at @aledolores Thanks Ale for letting me share your story about meeting Simple Plan!
MEXICO! MARIAN’s Review!
I met Marian though another one of SP friends and Marian was happy to share her experince of seeing and meeting SP last month in Mexico. Once again a pleasure to meet a felllow astronaut from over seas. Marian’s experince brought back many fond memories of when I met SP I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did. It is long but well worth the read! I left this unedited so you could feel the emotion!
It all started on Tuesday 2nd. The guys arrived to my city on Monday but me and my bff Jules didn’t have a ticket to their concert on Tuesday, as you know, we sorted it out and got tickets to see them that night. All of a sudden we were inside and waiting for SP to start playing. The first song they played was Shut Up we were all jumping and singing and having fun since the first minute of it, I was recording everything and, since we were front row, Pierre kept looking at us, at my camera, it was so cool, but then there was this moment when he came closer to us and reached my camera and tried to take a picture of him with it!!!! Bad thing is that I was recording so instead of taking a pic he stopped my video xD I have the video of that obviously, if you wanna watch ;) They played some more songs and after playing Summer Paradise the host of the radio station that SP were playing for came up stage to interview them. Pierre was supposed to read the questions in spanish and try to translate them so they could answer, it was SO funny listening to them and trying to guess haha I’ve got a video of that as well (yeah, I recorded the whole show lol) it’s kinda amazing because they were joking and singing and dancing while answering the questions haha and one question was something like “for a lot of fans “Perfect” is an anthem, what do you think of the song?” Or something like that and when they read it I immediately yelled “it’s my anthem!!” And Pierre heard me and asked “it’s your anthem?” And I was like “yeaaah!” Hahaha it was awesome as though we were talking to each other :’) They sang like 7 songs but they didn’t sing Perfect because they ran out of time because they were streaming the concert via radio and y’know, radio time and everything so. Also, Seb threw a guitar pick at one of my friends but she didn’t catch it instead it fell in front of me and the guy who was next to me tried to catch it and I was like HELL NO IT’S MINE and idk how but we ended up “fighting” for it and guess who won it! Hahaha it was so weird but I was not gonna let him have it since it was in front of me right lol so the concert finished and both my bff and myself were so damn happy and couldn’t believe we saw them when we didn’t even have tickets some hours before it ahah :) The concert finished and Donkey gave my bff a setlist :’) haha we were all happy now. Went out the venue and decided we should go to their hotel to say hi, but we had no good luck. This is the end of day 1.
On sunday 7th it was the first real concert. My friends and I had already m&g, soundcheck and early entry access because SPcrew. We waited in line for some hours just having fun until some people from the venue told us to make a line so they could check that our names were on the SPcrew list. We were now inside the venue, and we were about 60 fans waiting for the soundcheck to start. He could hear from the other side of the door that they were rehearsing Cant Keep My Hands Off You and we all started singing and when it finished, security guards told us we were going to get in for real. My friends and I ran to the stage and we made it 2nd row since we were just few and the guys were all gathered in the middle of the stage haha my friends and I were talking outside about how awesome it would be if they played Everytime or at least a part of it, so when they finished the sound check for Promise some fans asked Pierre if he could play Everytime AND HE DID HE TOOK HIS GUITAR AND STARTED SINGING omg it was so beautiful I never thought I’d get to listen to it live!! Then they started the rehearse for the NPNHJB medley .I almost died there as well because I never thought I’d listen to those songs live either!! It’s just perfect! When they finished playing the medley Pierre said “we’re not gonna play more songs so we have enough time to sign and take picture with y’all because you’re a lot!” lol “make a big circle around the place and wait for us, don’t move, we’re coming to you, just make a big circle and be patient, I promise we’re talking to every one of you” . We did as he said. We made a big circle and waited. The boys started to come down from stage and started to take pics and sign everyone’s stuff. The first one who came with us was Chuck. It was bloody awesome. He signed and talked a bit with my bff, she almost started crying when they stopped talking because he was so kind.. Then he talked to me, I had my ABPFY postcards with me so he asked me “do you want me to sign these?” and I was like “yeah, whichever you want” he signed the one of Japan and he was like “muchas gracias!” (that’s Thank You in spanish haha) we took a pic and I told him that I have this letter to gave him and asked if he could read it, because it would mean a lot and he was like “I promise I will” and smiled.. My heart melted haha so I opened my arms as if I was gonna give him a HUGE hug and he was like “come here” and he hugged me and as the hug was happening I said “thank you so much for everything!” and he said “thank you!!” and he continued with the m&g. Then Jeff came with us, I gave him the postcard of him doing the “rock on!” sign and I was like “I know you like this picture” and HE LAUGHED! Haha I was so excited because I wanted to listen to Jeff’s laugh LIVE (am I a freak?) and he was now laughing with me it was so awesome xD then we took a pic and I was so happy and then I gave him the letter I wrote to him and asked him to please read it and he replied with a “of course I will!!”
All of a sudden David was with my friend Ale (who was in my left side) and Seb was with my bff, Jules, who was in my right side. I was in the middle of confusion ahah both of them finished talking to my friends and now both were in front of me and idk maybe they saw my friend’s face and mine of “uh-oh what are we gonna do now?” and they started talking to each other haha David was like “tu eres muy bonita!(youre really pretty!)” and Seb was like “muchas gracias!(thank you)” BUT my friends and I were like “LOL NO!” I told David “you’re supposed to say bonito not bonita!” And he said “bonito!” and we all laughed and idk they kept talking to each other saying nonsense in spanish ahaha and then David turned to me and asked what he was gonna sign and I gave him another postcard and gave him my letter and, again, asked him to read it and he was like “SIIIII!” (that’s yes in spanish haha) I love it when they try to talk in spanish. :’) The concert started and it was all B E A U T I F U L. I can’t even find the words to describe how awesome it went. They played about 20 songs, including the medley to dance (moves like jagger, sexy and i know it, dynamite) and a NP NH JB medley with everyone’s fave songs off that album. Everything was perfect. The fans went crazy, I swear I’ve never seen a craziest crowd for a SP concert, we were all jumping, singing, screaming, having the best time of our lives. This was by far the best sp concert I’ve been to. I went all emotional when they started singing Astronaut and I don’t even know why, but this is the second time this happen to me. It hits me when they sing “cause you’re all I’ve got” cause, yeah, sometimes they are all I got, it’s like I’m singing that to them and they know it. Same happened when they sang TSSML, I can’t even describe. Yeah, minutes later Pierre was walking outside the hotel with all his bags and walked straight to their van. Less than a minute later he was ready to sign and take pics with all of us. How sweet can they be? I had bought the newspaper because there was a note about them and I got them to sign it “to the SPfamily” so it could be like a gift to everyone. I had to stop here, if you want to read more check out this link!!!

letter to my 13 year old self "I write this letter not only to my 13 year old self but also to other young SP fans going through the ups and downs of high school. The point of this letter is that no matter how bad it gets it will get better, there is life after high school. It's also a message about being proud of who you are and how at the end of the day regardless of how lonely you feel you are NEVER truly alone. Being a SP fan means you are always loved and supported by the band and by the fans. Once an Astronaut always an Astronaut". Dear My 13 Year Old Self, I know you've just started high school and it seems like everything is moving too fast, but change is good embrace it. These next couple of years will test everything you have and then some but remember to stay strong, hold your head high and embrace who you are. Friendships will come and go. You will meet horrible people who will judge you and say the most horrible, hurtful things about you but you will also meet the most amazing people who will love you just the way you are. Your life won’t be perfect, you will feel invisible, you won't get invited to parties, you won't have a boyfriend until your 18, you will fight with your mother, you will fight with your best friend, you will scream into your pillow when your’e mad and you will cry yourself to sleep when your sad. And just when it feels like life has thrown everything at you and things can't get any worse the day will come when your life will change forever. You won't know it at first but you’re about to become part of something remarkable. It will start with a simple song, 4 powerful words that will make you feel like you belong...'Welcome To My Life'. It won't be an easy journey, you will receive extreme ridicule, more than ever before. People will call you names and make hideous statements about you but you will be strong because once you are an Astronaut you are never truly alone. All the pain and torment will be worth it in the end, one week before your 18th birthday you will receive a gift that no money can ever buy, you will meet the 5 amazing guys that inspire you to be the person you grow up to be. It will feel like a dream, a once in a lifetime experience but little do you know you will meet them again 3 years later and again 1 year after that. You will grow into a confident, strong, successful, beautiful woman, you will develop a relationship with your mother that is full of love and compassion, you will learn to trust again after years of heartache and you will not hide your love for the band that saved you, instead you will embrace everything they stand for and as a result you will meet some of the most amazing people in the world. You will look back on your teen years as a lesson, because without hurt we cannot really truly live. You will thank Simple Plan everyday for the love, happiness and simplicity they bring to your life. Regardless of the box you have been put in by society and despite how you may feel now, you will be free. Your horizons are boundless. Your potential is limitless. Breathe little girl, love yourself as you are the perfect you. Sincerely, an older wiser you xx

SIMPLE PLAN IS MY CREATIVE INSPIRATION “Pierre Bouvier leads a simple life with his daughter, Chloe. But, a shakeup is about to happen and he isn't prepared for the complications that will cause. But, he must ride the storm so he can be certain of his future.” – Tattoo’s of Memories Creativity is something everyone has. Some people can create things from nothing, from nowhere, but the majority of people I know have been inspired by the things in their everyday lives, be it their favourite book, music, band or TV show. For me, and I know for many within the Simple Plan fandom, Simple Plan – the band and their music – has been the catalyst for many different areas of the creative arts. Fan art, fan fiction, and covers of songs litter the World Wide Web and is a testament to the power of the band’s inspiring nature. The number of fanfics that I’ve read, and written, online is phenomenal. I personally have written forty odd stories revolving around the guys. The fanart that I’ve seen on Tumblr, deviantArt and other sites makes me realise how many talented people are out there who are passionate for the band. Posters, banners, and drawings that fans produce and bring to the concert are another avenue of inspiration. Also, those who get tattoos inspired by the band are just as creative as many come up with their own design ideas. Other people are musicians or aspiring to be and use the band’s music to help practice and further their own skills. I could go on, but I think what would be best is that I share some examples of my work, and of others work. Art often speaks for itself. FAN OF THE MONTH
It is my pleasure to introduce Kelly from Australia. I love meeting other SP fans who love them as much as I do! As usual I asked the questions that we all want to know about a fellow member of the SP Family
KELLY
Q: When was the first time you heard about Simple Plan? The first time I heard about Simple Plan was early 2002. I was 11 years old waiting to go to school and saw the video clip for addicted on tv. Q: When was your first SP show? My first SP show was in 2005 at Challenge Stadium in Perth W.A Q: For How long have you been a Spfan? I have been a SP fan since 2002, so 10 years this year. Q: How many times have you seen them live? I have seen SP live 3 times, 2005, 2008 and 2012. Q: What do you like the most about Simple Plan? The thing I like the most about Simple Plan is total devotion to their fans, they genuinely care about us and make us feel very special. Q: What’s your favourite possession of Simple Plan and why? My favorite possession of Simple Plan has to be their cd's for sure, no matter what I'm doing or how I'm feeling, there is always a song I can relate to and sing along with. Q: Say what Simple Plan means to you. What does Simple Plan mean to me? Everything. There isn't a day that goes by when I don't listen to their music or watch their hilariously funny videos and vlogs. They always put me in a good mood, no matter the situation. Q: Favourite Simple Plan song and why? My favourite Simple Plan song has to be 'Astronaut' because it's a beautiful, powerful song and a really good representation of how you can feel sometimes living in a world where you are different from everyone else. Q: Do you have any tattoo related to Simple Plan? And if you don’t would you like to have one? I have a Simple Plan lyric tattoo on my back which I got in 2007. It is the lyrics 'coz every wasted day, becomes a wasted chance, you're gonna wake up feeling sorry, coz life won't wait, I guess it's up to you' from the song 'When Im Gone'. I still have a lot more I would love to get put on me!
Q: What’s your favourite part of ABPFY? My favourite part of ABPFY has to be at the end where they all talk about each other and why they love each member of the band. You can really see how much they care about each other and how they are not only band members but they are best friends as well, which is lovely to see. Q: If you could spend a whole day with SP, what would you do? If I could spend a whole day with SP, I think it would be cool to go to the beach, maybe write a song, play some music, then go to a theme park or something and have a good time. Then finish the day with a BBQ and drinks, hanging out and listening to stories from the road. Q: Best Simple Plan memory? I think I have way too many best SP memories to list but the ones that stand out are memories from concerts. The anticipation for weeks before the show, then going to the show, seeing them and being so excited, then reminiscing after the show and wishing I could go back. Q: Have you made friends thanks to Simple Plan? Yes I have made quite a few friends thanks to Simple Plan, especially on our facebook group where we all share a love for the guys. Q: Favourite SP quote? My favorite SP quote is 'Be yourself and follow your dreams and if people don't like you, f@!k them, they don't have to be you, YOU do! So do what you wanna do and don't change for anyone' Q: Favourite Simple Plan video? My favorite Simple Plan video is 'Summer Paradise' because its a great video of them hanging out and having a good time in a beautiful place, plus its an awesome song to go with it. Q: What song would you like Simple Plan to cover? I would love the to do 'Under The Bridge by Red Hot Chilli Peppers' Q: Apart of SP , which other bands do you like? Mcfly, We Are The In Crowd and All Time Low. Q: If you could say anything to Simple Plan right now, what would you tell them? If I could say anything to SP right now, I would thank them for making the music they make which has been there for me everyday, through the good times and the bad times for the last 10 years and always reminding me that its okay to be myself, no matter what other people think.

TWITTER TALK............ Jeff –
We were all pleased for Jeff when he shared that his restaurant Mangiafoco was awarded 4 stars, and celebrated when he reached 90,000 followers on his twitter account. (Hey Jeff, where’s that 80k vid you promised us???) He voiced his disapproval of bootleggers selling SP merchandise knock offs outside North American concerts. He was a little disappointed about missing out on a certain “Halloween party” but that didn’t stop him having fun, although it appeared his celebrity status didn’t help him get served in at least one venue. Like the other guys, Jeff shared some pics of fans and gifts that he had received, (although I would have preferred to see the pic of him in his underwear looking out onto the fans singing below his window) and also reminded us for future reference that he wears a size M shirt. He also let fans know that he is not on Instagram and urged the person using his name on that social media to contact him so they could try and work out some arrangement. To show followers that he was in fact the REAL Jeff Stinco on twitter, he changed his avatar.
David
–
Enjoying the new Adele 007 track, while checking out high school pics of other rockers, David also took the time to sharing a cause he feels strongly about, animal rescue. (http:// lotlrescue.com.au/)With so many concerts this month, I sure do hope that he found that much needed massage he was asking for.
Seb
– With bags packed, Seb was ready for the month ahead. Even though they had a busy schedule ahead, SP wasn’t the only thing on his mind as he announced the chance to win the signed lyrics of his song my dear. He seemed to enjoy the local cuisine but might have over indulged in the Mexican food at least once. Mexican food wasn’t the only thing he enjoyed as he and Jeff took a much needed break to enjoy some wrestling. Seb shared some pics of the South American fans as well as some of the gifts he received. Although working so hard, Seb took some time out for a little yoga, naps, walks and a little writing, all while keeping us entertained by his sometimes random, funny tweets.
Pierre – Now back on the road, Pierre has been making good use of not only
his now verified Twitter, but also Instagram accounts. It was not all work and no play for Pierre who was able to enjoy a few rounds of golf and doing Q & A’s with fans around the world (generally while I was asleep) When security stopped the guys meeting fans at the airport, Pierre tweeted the name of the motel of the hotel they were staying at, and hung out with the fans there. When a fans camera died as she went to take a pic with him, Pierre whipped out his fone, and posted the pic on his account for her. Not only did he share some of the gifts he received, but he also made us all jealous and dreaming of Summer Paradise with the views and places he was experiencing.
Chuck
– 17 shows in 8 countries didn’t slow Chuck down from tweeting this month. Not only was he working up a sweat on stage, but behind the scenes Chuck has been working night and day (and sometimes the wee small hours of the morning) doing the final touches to the book, something he is very proud of. He sent special shout outs to fans who were attending shows and posted pics on both Twitter and Instagram of some awesome sights they had seen, shows they had played as well as special tributes from fans and Coca-Cola (Please can anyone can get me one of these??????) But it was not all work and no play for Chuck, who was able to take a bit of time out to enjoy a round of golf with his buddy Pierre.
Upcoming Events
by maddie
Yes! Simple Plan is back on tour! WOOHOO! Although, sadly they will not be visiting Australia this time. But there’s always next time, right? SPanish Astronauts will be happy! Tour dates for the month: For November, there is only one show scheduled right now and it’s in Madrid, Spain! SP will be playing at Palacio Deportes on November 9. But I can’t forget to mention one special event happening in November involving Simple Plan. The band and members of their foundation (Simple Plan Foundation, read last month’s article on it) have announced their 5th benefit event! The guys will be dedicating their whole day to music. QUOTE PAGE Pierre: People who don’t like our band, they will never hate me enough to make me stop. They don’t faze me. I love what I do so much, and they will never stop me from doing it. No matter how loud they scream, I will scream louder. I will always be there for the people who love us. They will never boo me offstage.
Jeff: These guys became more than friends, they’re brothers to me. It’s a bond that will never die. You know, we’re just best friends and we’ve been best friends forever and you know what, I remember when I was living in a s!%h-hole in Montreal, you know and didn’t have enough money to pay the rent and definitely didn’t have any money to pay for all the demos, the guitars and all that stuff, the guys were always there for me from the start. Seb: They’re loyal; they’re the best kids in the world. They’re the coolest people cuz all they do is care about this band. They want to help us they want to help us grow they’re supportive, they do contests. I tell you these kids go all out. / We care about those kids that drive to see us those kids that have been supporting us for a long time. We care about the new kids who came for the first time to a concert and were like “Oh I want to meet those guys” and its like so we always got to sign autographs and it gives us a chance to get to know those people a little better and it gives us a chance to make friends. Chuck: Truthfully, obviously good music and a good live show is important, and you have to make sure your fans like them. But most importantly having cool vibes and nice people because there's nothing worse than spending a month with a band that you don't connect with and you don't have fun with, and they take themselves too seriously and they have bodyguards, you know what I mean, they act like they're something they're not.
David: I would say the fans are probably the most important reason why we're here today and they've been supportive in helping us since day one. Since this band was totally the smallest band in the world.

MASKETTA FALLS When I was waiting in line to get into the Melbourne SP concert after having experienced SC a band came around and entertained us while we were waiting until they were asked to leave by security. I knew who the band was as they handed out a demo CD which I liked. I have been fortunate enough to see a few bands from their grass roots up and this band I feel has what it takes to take it sky high. (One my fav bands when I was younger were the Cockroaches and they became the Wiggles!) This is the second time I have seen Masketta Falls live. The first time I saw them I thought they were good. This time they were awesome. The connection with the crowd was out of this world. Their set list was great, I knew that they would perform all the songs of their Debut EP but to add a My Chemical Romance cover was perfect for this crowd. (Well the only more perfect would have been a SP song!) After the show was a Meet and Greet. Each band member was happy to sign merch and have their photo taken and just have a chat. SP fans would understand how special that makes you feel?) One of the songs that I have loved and lived my life to is The Anthem by GC. As a teacher I smile often at the lyrics “ Get a real job that’s what they said to me” LOL, I find myself in my job encouraging students to make sure they are choosing subjects that will get them into Uni. I never taught Ryan Spiller (bass) at my school, (well I don’t think I did) but he went to the school where I work. (I knew the name, that sounds bad hey! ☺). Now I am thinking I should encourage the students to follow their dreams rather than what we as teachers are meant to say. I do feel that Ryan is living his dream and hope that it comes true for him. So just in case you think I am biased, I asked for some concert reviews from the audience. I encourage all of you to see them if you can if you live in Australia and if you are interested, click on the links for their EP on iTunes. Two other bands played that concert, and I enjoyed both. In particular Check Your Smile I really enjoyed, I did not know their music but the cover of Taylor Swifts “We am Never Ever getting back together “ almost blew the roof off as the crowd sang along. So read the reviews and look these bands up on facebook! I look forward to the next concert in Melbourne and then the one in December to celebrate Ryan and Bens birthday. Emma: MF were amazing once again. I can’t wait till i see them again. I love how they are happy to meet with the crowd after and have their picture taken with us. Check Your Smile were great and also funny after the show. I look forward to Ben and Spillers bday party in Dec. Caity : I think that Masketta fall was an amazing performance, ad usual, so were your ticket home. Check your smile were good. Masketta Fall were friendly, sharing their smiles as always and spreading it to everyone in the crowd.

Nick :The Concert was pretty amazing, although the first band didn’t look that interested they sounded good, Check Your Smile was better and their version of Taylor Swifts “we are never getting back together” was amazing! But to top it off Masketa Fall were reeeallllllllllllllllllllllllly AMAZING and rocked the house, although I didn’t know some of their music it was easy to follow along. Loved it all!!

SEB’S SOLO WORK Les Robots.........
Seb’s second EP, Les Robots was released in February of 2011 for free on his website. Like You Are Here/Vous Êtes Ici, the record starts off with an introduction track, which here is titled Fabrication, again which has no words and a simple guitar. The second song on this EP is Sending You A Letter (sometimes known as Hello My Friend) which is about finding a picture of a memory with someone that you used to know, and wondering where they are and how they’re going, I guess it’s about trying to find an old friend. The next song, Catch Me is a duet with Katie Rox (who might I add is one of the sweetest most down to earth people I’ve had the pleasure of speaking to and you should listen to her music as well) who also has a band with Seb, called Sébastien & Katie who recorded their EP ‘Christmas etc.’ in separate locations: Katie’s closet & Sébastien’s studio. Their voices in the song sound really good together too. Tu Me Manques is the next song, which is an entirely French song about missing someone, and (rough translation) it’s about telling someone to come on the road with him and leave their life behind to be with him. It’s a really adorable song, and the single cover for this is uber cute with 2 robots too. After Tu Me Manques, we have The Last Time We Kiss which is essentially about just that, it’s a song about how a certain time will be the last time they kiss. Crossed Out is next, which I believe is about being left behind by someone, though I’m not entirely certain on that. The final song on the EP is ‘Getting Stuck In My Head’ which is about a girl that it seems he can’t let go of, that’s always getting stuck in my head & that he cannot seem to forget. This EP is the only one of his that doesn’t have a single with a video. The EP doesn’t seem to be available for download on his website anymore, so I decided to upload it (I hope it’s legal) right here: By Kalila @pierreboobier http://www.mediafire.com/?2krbgigf0g505mi
GREEN DAY UNO REVIEW
After releasing “21st Century Breakdown” back in 2009 and “American Idiot” in 2004, expectations for Green Days new release “¡Uno!” were high. Being the first of the trilogy to be released the band had to prove to their fans that they still as great as ever or if Green Day are coming to the end of their career. After being slightly hesitant about this album -not being a huge fan of 21st Century Breakdown- as soon as I pressed play I was blown away by the first track “Nuclear Family”. Upon hearing the lines “Drinking angels piss gonna crash and burn. I just want some action so give me my turn” I knew this was just going to be a fun album, with their more punk-rock roots from years ago making a long awaited return. When thinking of a standout track, “Kill The DJ”definitely comes to mind. It has a different feel than the rest of the album and the funky guitar rhythm mixed with the almost snarl like way Billie Joe Armstrong sings the chorus makes this a catchy, standout track. “¡Uno!” is definitely an album worth buying. The sound's reminiscent of previous albums without being repetitive and is undoubtedly one of my favourite Green Day albums to date. This album has left me with extremely high expectations of “¡Dos!” and “¡Tre!” and it will definitely be tough to beat. They may be new to the game, but Aussie pop rockers Masketta Fall's debut EP “Something Beautiful” has definitely left fans pleased. “Something Beautiful” features 7 tracks. Something Beautiful, So Contagious, Do You Wanna Dance, Textbook Tragedy (He Said Oh!), Symphony, Without You and Cloud Nine which is the only acoustic track on the record. The first track “Something Beautiful” is probably the standout track and is certainly a song which you will find yourself singing along to throughout the day. The fast paced and catchy beat will easily have you hooked and gives a great insight on what to expect from the rest of the EP. “Cloud Nine” the only acoustic track on the record is also definitely one of my favourites. Even though it may be acoustic, it's still carries a similar feel to the rest of the album and will definitely get stuck in your head. It is a great song to finish the EP with and shows and that Masketta Fall can experiment with slightly different sounds and successfully pull it off while still sounding like them. “Something Beautiful” is in my opinion one of the best Australian releases in the pop-punk/ pop-rock so far this year. If you're into bands such as All Time Low, Good Charlotte and of course Simple Plan, I would highly recommend giving this EP a listen. writen by Sian @sianiigoesraww

Full Name: Leeann Rothwell
Age: Do I really have to say??? I’ll admit to having an 18 year old, how about that?? And will also add that at no time do I act my age. Country: Australia Twitter nick: @adnaxar although be warned, I am pretty boring on twitter. Bands beside SP you like: My other favourite would have to be Metallica. But if you looked through my iPod, you would soon see I have a very eclectic music style. I know my kids sometime look at me like WT… when my iPod is on shuffle. What do you do on Simple Plan Space?: I consider myself head cheerleader (Go Mickey lol ) I honestly don’t think I do that much, but somehow have been given the title Copy Editor. Don’t ask me how. I also attempt some writing and research for the mag. Have you seen SP live?: It has taken almost 8 years, but I finally got the chance to see them live early this year. I always joke I had to breed fans so I had someone to go to their concerts with me. Have you met them? I finally got my chance to meet them this year, was one of the best nights of my life. Since when have you been a fan: I would have to say since around 2004. I heard Addicted at a very pivotal point in my life, and SP has been with me for every life changing event since. Fav SP Song Just around the corner. Fav SP music video: You expect me to pick just one?? Fine! I know this isn’t an official video, but I’ll pick the Australian Summer Paradise clip as my eldest and my niece were at this concert (if you pause at just the right spot you can see them (ok, so they are very blurry, but still) in the crowd) I also love a number of fan clips on YouTube. Hobbies: I’m a single mum of 4 boys, I don’t have much time for hobbies, but music plays a very important part of my life. Languages English What do you do for a living?: As if being a mum isn’t enough, I’m also an Education Support Worker (Integration Aid) Fave books: Until the new SP book comes out I don’t really have one. But I do have a few favorite authors in Bryce Courtney and Wilbur Smith. I also enjoy reading true crime stories. Fave movies Well, the new Metallica 3D movie won’t be out until next year, so until then I’ll have to say The Boat That Rocked (also called Pirate Radio in some parts of the world, great sound track it always makes me laugh.
