Songs of the Month Summer Paradise & Jet Lag (French versions) Written by: @sophiecarlbrant

Summer Paradise: As a third single from the fourth studio album Get Your Heart On! ‘Summer Paradise’ became Simple Plan’s biggest hit yet. Reaching #1 in many European countries and gathering new fans all around the globe. It was first released in Australia on December 13th 2011 and then worldwide in February 28th the following year. ‘Summer Paradise’ has a reggae vibe to it and inspired SP’s lead singer Pierre Bouvier’s hobby – surfing. The popular song was recorded with French-Canadian rapper K’Naan on the album and made in different versions and languages since its release. Photo: blog muchmusic.com The famous rapper Sean Paul is featured on the second English version of the song and also in the music video. It was shot in Barbados where he’s from. In the video we see the guys having a great time by the campfire, out on a boat, jumping off cliffs and hanging with the local people. Simple Plan had a few collaborations on their fourth album. They also had their first ever duet and French version of a song. The French version of ‘Summer Paradise’ has French verses and the chorus is in English, this one is also featuring Sean Paul.

Jet Lag:

The second song on the album is called ‘Jet Lag’ and is the first duet with a female vocalist. Natasha Bedingfield leant her voice to this beautiful song about distance relationship and the French version features French-Canadian Marie-Mai. The song was released on April 25th 2011 and the album has both versions on it. Ever since its release ‘Jet Lag’ has gotten a few new versions by singers all over the world. While touring Simple Plan performed the song as a duet with female singers around the globe. One of them being young Australian Christina Parie.

She performed the English version with the band on their Australian tour throughout June 2012. She’s known for being one of the finalists in the third season of the X factor Australia. Marie-Mai features in the French music video and performed with Simple Plan in Canada and on the Europe tour, specifically in France, in March 2012. Sometimes she performs the English verse as well. Marie-Mai is also the official collaborator of the French version of ‘Jet Lag’. Photos: montreal radio nrj.ca(above) simpleplan.cz (below)

SONG Writing......

Last year we ran a feature on young Australian song writers and Maddie interviewed six bands. This month I interviewed 2 international bands about their song writing process. I interviewed Brad from Veara from the US and Time to Fly from France. Thanks to these guys for taking the time to answer. What is the process you go through to create a song?

Veara: Patrick comes up with a guitar part, brings it to the band and we all give our musical input and create a song around it. We record all our own demos for songs so that has helped us a ton in our writing process. Time To Fly: It's a logical one. I'm starting with some ideas about a subject that would fit the song. I write the verse first and then the chorus and then the second verse. So i don't get lost in what i have to say. How do you find the inspiration to write your music? Veara: Everyday life and experiences you go through. A lot of our music is fueled by frustrations. Turning negatives into positives. Time To Fly: Inspiration is everywhere in life. Often it deals with the society around us. Human feelings. This century is full of change. And we have access to so much information with internet. You just have to choose which subject you want to talk about. What's most difficult about writing lyrics? Veara: Sometimes it can be hard to find just that right note or just the right words to say. We're always pushing ourselves to write to the best of our abilities, so that thought can tend to linger in the back of your mind while writing. Time To Fly: I guess it's finding a subject that is interesting enough to write a whole song about it. That's the mission, it's not always easy to find many things to say on a subject that must remain interesting. I try to write some kind of short stories often and I like to include some messages inside these lyrics so that's not easy to do sometimes. Time to Fly

Do you ever get writer's block? If so, how do you get rid of it? Veara: It can be relieving to leave an idea alone for a bit, and other times you just have to power through it. You could also be over thinking it. Things don't always have to be profound to make a big impact, and that's important to keep in mind when writing. Time To Fly: I never really faced this issue to write lyrics . I use to write a 1st version of it and then , work on it to make another version on another day. I stop when I feel satisfied about it and show it to the whole band. If you could write a song for anyone to sing, who would it be? Veara: Miley Cyrus, of course! Time To Fly: If I had to write lyrics for a band it would be a band like Foo Fighters, or Coldly. I would love to write for those very talented bands who write great lyrics.

Any tips for those wanting to write their own lyrics?

VEARA

Veara: Say how you feel. Time To Fly: I think one of the things that is important when you write lyrics is to search in your mind an interesting subject to write on. Don't try to construct the whole lyrics from scratch, I prefer finding some sentences , ideas and then try to construct the lyrics with that. Where do you start with the instruments? Do you think it's more like just trying different chords and note until it fits in with the lyrics or sounds cool or is there a different way? Veara: We usually write the music before we add vocals to our songs. We record our own demos as we write, so we can sit back and listen to our progress as we go along, which is nice. Time To Fly: The instruments is change to are the 1st thing we're composing for a new song. We often have a guitar riff or a melody and then we work around this to build the song. We work on guitar and bass lines to create interesting harmonies and at the same time we put a drum on that. With the band we like to proceed like that yes. Instrumentation has to fit well with the lyrics, but we compose the music first and then the lyrics so i guess the most important when we work on the instruments is to create music that sounds good for us ( and hopefully for people ! ). Is it difficult making all of the instruments work together? Veara: It can be at times, but that's what's awesome about writing music. When you find that right flow with everything, you gain a great feeling of accomplishment. Time To Fly: Sometimes it's quite hard yes. We got stuck several times when we wrote songs of our next upcoming album "Pendulum". We worked days on some songs without being able to find something interesting . And then , you don't know how , something that fits well with the music comes up. Trust me you wait for this sacred moment! Do you have any techniques that you use to help create instrumentals? Veara: To be honest, not really haha. I just sit down, and play around on the guitar until I find myself playing something that I think sounds cool. Time To Fly: We don't use special techniques for that. I think it's a very good thing to listen to a lot of music , that way your mind catches a lot of melodies and it's easier to find some stuff for songs.

Any tips or hints for anyone trying to create their own instrumentals for a song? Veara: Get a few friends with instruments and put your ideas together aka start a band! Time To Fly: We've been a band for a long time so we practiced a lot together and it took us a long time to find our own way to compose. One thing that we used to do when we started is to play some covers of bands we like. That's a good way to learn and see how songs are constructed. That's a good point to start and then when you are familiar with that you can try to put your own stuff and build your own song, then share it with the world ! Huge thanks to Brad from Veara and Ben from Time to Fly answering our questions. Check them out on Facebook.

Get Your Heart On The It's been 2 years since the release of Get Your Heart On and after much nagging from fans worldwide for new material, the boys of Pop Punk "Simple Plan" have released a "bridger" to the forthcoming album number 5. "Get Your Heart On - The 2nd Coming" is the new EP, featuring 7 tracks that never saw the light of day from the previous release.... Until now. Us Aussies were the "Lucky Ones", having it released first just in time for the boys to make their appearance as a headline act on the Van's Warped Tour. Chuck quoted as saying that the band had written 70+ songs for "Get Your Heart On", and cull after cull to get to the final 11 tracks on the album was most challenging, near impossible. So there were a few tracks that were left behind, hence the creation of "The 2nd Coming". Others call it the "B Sides" but it's far from that!.
The EP opens with a bang "Ordinary Life", a classic SP tune, which has theme similarities to "Anywhere Else But Here", only with a rockin' beat. Going to work Monday to Friday and sick and tired of the daily grind and not wanting to wake up with the best years behind us. "The Rest Of Us" is the song that was used as the teaser to promote the EP. A track that is an anthem for the ones who feel like they are not good enough and who gets left out, thus making them feel like they are important as well..the freaks and losers, "the rest of us". I know this will cause a stir amongst die-hard fans, but I will say that this song is possibility the best song the boys have written to date!. "Out Of My System" has comparisons to a big name boy band sensation (not mentioning names)..

e 2nd Coming Review With it's infectious pop sound, Pierre really sings the guts out of this and will surely go off at a live show. "Fire In My Heart" is another "Summer Paradise" with the groovy summer-ish beats, only with the latter being justifiably included in the original album, though "Fire In My Heart" fits perfectly in this mix giving the EP substance. This was one of the songs that was unfortunately leaked on the internet mid 2013, along with "Try", I was so happy to know that the boys chose to include these songs, fearing they would of been rejected. "In" is another stand out track, dealing with the relationship issue again, a theme Simple Plan has become infamous for amongst their fans. "Lucky One" is an acoustic anthem for the fans with its deep themes of dispair and pain and coming out the other end as "the lucky one". Only the acoustic guitars accompany this track giving the song truthful meaning and depth. After listening to this, it makes us wonder how the quintet have the ability to write songs with such passion and truth?... do the boys have any personal connection to the lyrics and have they been though the trauma that this song is portraying? This has suddenly become the next "Perfect" and a big favourite amongst fans, and surely will have hands waving in unison at shows.. Can't wait for that!. "Try" is the ballad, about a boy trying his best to not disappoint his girl and trying his best for her. Pierre's vocals are just luscious and this song in particular really displays the maturity in their song writing and singing. They have come a long way from the late teen days of "No Pads No Helmets Just Balls", and I'm beginning to think that they have finally found their "niche" and are gonna run with it. One wonders how all of these gems could have possibly been left out of the original album. Maybe they wanted to keep some up their sleeves or just that the boys didn't think these were good enough for the album. Understandably, as the original album was faultless, these tracks just made the final song choice that much harder. But so glad that these songs got to see the light of day and it goes to show how much of musical geniuses these five men are. This EP was well and truly worth the wait.

“Ordinary Life”

“Ordinary Life” is the first track of the new EP called “Get Your Heart On – The Second Coming!”. Songwriters: Pierre Bouvier, Chuck Comeau, Zac Malloy Additional collaboration: Brian Howes (production) Length: 3:25 It’s a song that most of the people can relate to. It’s about not wanting a life that is always the same, people who are sick of the same life-story, five days a week that is boring, I think every student and even people with their jobs can relate to this song. We all want a fun life with lots of free time, we all love to spend time with our friends and do something new every day. Well, this song sings about all of that! It’s very energetic and I like the drums in this song, they are awesome!

Here’s what Chuck and Seb say about “Ordinary Life”: “It’s about not wanting to have a nine-to-five job, which we don’t. So that’s fun!” – Sebastien Lefebvre “ It’s kind of a throwback to the first album. The song is about not wanting to have a normal job, a normal life, kinda aiming higher.” – Chuck Comeau This song has an official lyrics video where you can see a man running through whole video and, of course, lyrics. Yeah, it’s just man running, but it’s a meaningful running. You can watch it here.

Here’s what Astronauts from all around the world say about this awesome song! Ordinary Life is a great, great song! Awesome lyrics, amazing music. We all are in this routine and we want to get out of it, but it's almost impossible. All days are the same. We can bright them up with music, such as this song. When you listen to Ordinary Life in the morning, it wakes you up and gives you some energy! :D - Maria Malikova @MariamAstronaut I love the song because it relates to everyone in the world. All throughout 2012 and 2013 I was living life like it was the end I had many opportunities but I am still lost. Every year goes by I say I am done with it but I haven’t left this life behind still. This song relates to everything I have been struggling through. - Jennifer L.W. @8jlwphoto I love this song! "I'm done, done, done with this ordinary life!" That's exactly my situation right now! I can identify perfectly with this song! The lyrics are perfect! - Christina Hamm @chrissi_sp I love that song! Really awesome lyrics! My favorite part is "I think I better wake up, before my life's behind me". - Viri Panqui Glez @PanquiGirl It's really good, and it describes anyone's life, a student getting up, walking to school, working, going home, homework etc, and the same with people who work! Once again, a perfect song by a perfect band - Sian Ross @SiansASquirtle

I freaking love that song! I can relate it perfectly! Especially when it says "I don't wanna wake up with my best years behind me, I think I better wake up before my life's behind me " - @Mikii_Lefebvre This is my fav song of the new Album! very catchy. I love it! Name supplied

“Ordinary Life It's just another Monday I'm just another face in a face-less crowd I'm going down one-way Caught up in the machine And I'm spit right out I'm living in a rat race I'm looking for my soul in the lost-and-found I'm sitting in the same spot Counting every tic, toc Gotta hit the punch clock When's it gonna stop-stop? Another day in black and white Chorus What happened to the someday? What happened to the dreams of the wide-eyed kid? Don't tell me that it's too late Don't tell me that I can't cause you never did I'm sitting in the same spot Counting every tic, toc Gotta hit the punch clock When's it gonna stop-stop? Another day in black and white I gotta quite this ordinary life Chorus I don't wanna wake up With my best years behind me I don't wanna wake up With my best years behind me I don't wanna wake up With my best years behind me

Chorus One, two, three, four, five Another week goes by I'm half alive I'm getting sick I'm faking this I'm over it Don't wanna wear those suit and tie Gotta live before I die So I'm done, done, done With this ordinary life

I think I better wake up Before my life's behind me Whoa Chorus Chorus

THE REST OF US. to read about The Rest of Us see our last edition here "The Rest Of Us" I'm okay, I'm okay, Kinda being awkward socially With the fact, with that girls Don't lose their shit when they look at me It's okay, it's okay, That I'm not that good at anything And I don't hit the notes perfectly When I try to sing Oh-oh I know why I'm not alone So turn the music up and let go Chorus I'm okay, I'm okay I don't need to be a billionaire (So fricking bad!) And my trust fund hopes are looking sad

Chorus Here's to the rest of us To all the ones that never felt they were good enough I wanna hear it for the chased and confused The freaks and the losers Let's point them out Here's to the rest of us The rest of us

I confess, I'm a mess I'm perfectly dysfunctional But I don't give a damn If you feel the same Let me hear you sing Oh-oh I know why I'm not alone So turn the music up and let go Chorus Here's to the rest of us We do it better than the rich and the fabulous I wanna hear it for the nothing to lose With something to prove Let's point them out Here's to the rest of us We don't need to apologize for anything Oh-oh Oh-oh We're who we are I just wanna hear you sing Oh-oh I know why I'm not alone Here’s the official lyrics video, check it out!

The lost, the geeks, the rejects, the losers The wrong, the freaks, the hopeless, the future The lost, the geeks, the rejects, the losers The wrong, the freaks, the hopeless, the future The rest of us

Songwriters: Pierre Bouvier, Chuck Comeau, Ian Kirkpatrick Additional collaboration: Brian Howes (production) Length: 3:26 “Outta My System” is the third song on Simple Plan’s new EP “Get Your Heart On – The Second Coming!”. This song is about thinking of one person all day, over and over again. When you just really like or love a person so much that you can’t get them out of your head. You try everything just to stop thinking about them, but it’s not working. And then you say “I’m over with it!” and just go out and have a good time with friends and try to find another person so you wouldn’t think too much about the one you want to forget. All you are left to do is get back to yourself, you just have to keep on trying. “Outta My System” is very catchy song, energy and it just puts you in good mood.

Here’s what fans think of “Outta My System”! I don't like this song as much as the others, but that doesn't mean it's bad or what, because it is another great song by our band (seriously, Simple Plan can't make a bad song). It's a little bit different, but I still like it and I'm sure other Astronauts do as well :) - Maria Malikova @MariamAstronaut This is one of my favourite songs off the EP. I dance to this song and to “In.” It’s so up beat I want to blare it every time I put it on and sing. I have been through crushes I have had to get “Outta My System” because it would ruin friendships I only wanted with the guys I have in my life. Also there have been many things in my life that I needed to get “Outta My System” because it has brought me down. - Jennifer L.W. @8jlwphoto It's a really good song, but not my favorite. It's like one of those songs after a break up, clearing your mind of somebody! It's also like you just don't care, "I want to make out with the perfect stranger," basically, saying "I don't care, let's just go crazy" Kind of thing :). - Sian Ross @SiansASquirtle I think it's catchy, fun and shows what SP are best at and everyone who's heard it, loves it! I hope to hear it live :) - @SP_Meg I totally love how catchy the song is! It just sneaks into your head, and won't leave till you listen to it at least a hundred times... and about the lyrics: to be honest, I absolutely see myself in it. The feeling, when you miss someone, and your thoughts are about just that one person..it's just so depressing. You're feeling low like all the time, but still can't keep your mind off him/her, no matter what you do. Being love-sick is horrible, but this song puts me in the mood when I don't care about it at all, just sing along, meanwhile it actually makes me feel better, helps me to get that person "out of my system"... :) - Mesi @_sugarcube_

"Outta My System" I try to brush it off Keep calm and collected but it just won't work They tell me "Read a book, Learn to cook, anything to keep your mind off her!" And now I'm so-o Tired of feeling so low-ow Seven weeks in a row-ow I don't wanna hear about Don't wanna think about you

Chorus I wanna make out with the perfect stranger Get loud need a mind eraser Drink up tonight I’m on a Chorus mission To get you outta my I try to be mature, system Stay polite but I'm really thinking what’s it worth Downtown I’ll be up all When deep inside of me night I can't breathe I'm a victim of a love sick curse Get lost in the flash of lights And now I'm so-o Drink up tonight I’m on a Tired of taking it slow-ow mission Seven weeks in a row-ow To get you outta my I don't wanna hear about system Don't wanna think about you Chorus Outta my system Outta my system Outta my system It's been so long since I've been myself Talking like, walking like someone else Feels so good to get back to me Rid myself of this misery Now I'm here coming back to life Turning my wrongs all back to right I was way down, I was locked up Now I'm free Chorus Oh, oh outta my system Oh, oh outta my system Outta my system

Fire In My Heart

The new EP of Simple Plan has finally been released. There were 7 songs and the 4th one was Fire in my heart, check out what some fans thought about it! - Well, it's an energetic song, it reminds a lot of the last album, this feeling of summer and party and everything. It makes me wanna dance so hard! It's a great song that contrasts with the others from the EP, as "Lucky One" and "Try", that are more melancholy. @dearvitt - "I think it's a catchy song, I really love it, it's kinda different from Simple Plan style but it's still an amazing song ." @Gal_SP - Fire In My Heart is certainly one of the songs that balances this new release of Simple Plan with pop and rock. It's a song that sounds pop more than rock, it reminds me a bit of the risquĂŠ sound of "Summer Paradise", which ended up surprising and pleasing and become the biggest single of the band since the album SNGA. Fire In My Heart is also the favorite song of David and Jeff, and added it to the EP even after web casting, which was a huge surprise to fans because the guys never used a leaked song before. @Izalete_Tavares It has a "Summer Paradise vibe", it makes me smile and want to dance, it really makes me happy. Although it's a shame it leaked and we heard it a while ago, but it's great! @MissEmelie_ It's the song that can make me smile and it fills me with energy - as almost every SP song. I love the chorus! @MariamAstronaut

I betcha didn't know, you started up a chain reaction, I saw no intention on your face, It might have been some kind of chemical attraction. I felt a spark, it left a mark I can't erase.

It's like oh, oh, No, there's no need to run for water, Oh, oh, Don't ever put me out.

Bridge: It likes oh, oh, Something like a bolt of lightning. Oh, oh, It's going on inside!

Oh, oh, So come and warm your hands around me. Oh, oh, I will light you up tonight.

Chorus: Cause I'm burning up it ain't no joke, And all my cells are growing old! Caught up in a blaze with no way out. And if my self-control goes up smoke, One more hit, I get so stoked that I, I'm glowing in the dark, You lit a fire in my heart! (Fire in my heart) You lit a fire in my heart. (Fire in my heart) You lit a fire in my heart. (Fire in my heart)

Chorus

It was kicking that beat, steady in my body, Till you pumped it up with gasoline, Struck a match and just like that you got me, Now I'm the brightest firework you've ever seen.

Written by Vit贸ria @dearvitt

Chorus

Cause I'm burning up it ain't no joke, And all my cells are growing old! Caught up in a blaze with no way out. And if my self-control goes up smoke, One more hit, I get so stoked that I, I'm glowing in the dark, You lit a fire in my heart! (Fire in my heart) You lit a fire in my heart. (Fire in my heart) You lit a fire in my heart!

IN

EP: Get Your Heart On – The Second Coming! Songwriters: Pierre Bouvier, Chuck Comeau, Michael Warren Additional collaboration: Brian Howes (production) Length: 3:43 “In” is the fifth song off of Simple Plan’s EP “Get Your Heart On - The Second Coming!”. This song is about someone who believes that they’ve wasted opportunities and chances because they’ve played on the safer side throughout their life, although they yearn for the more exhilarating and carefree lifestyle. They’re wondering why they’ve waited so long to take action and do something for once, instead of sitting on the sidelines as a bystander. So they decide to take some risks, but only if they have someone to experience it with them and stick by their side no matter what happens. This can also relate to a relationship, about wanting to take risks and move out of your comfort zone. The song can also be about hiding what you really feel about someone or something and finally taking the initiative to talk about it, which would help them in the long run. “In” is the desire to do something you’ve always wanted to do, but have been too scared or concerned about actually following through with it, especially if you don’t want to go through something alone. The members of the band have revealed that this song has an influence by Linkin Park.

LYRICS Wasting this time, trying to play it safe, and trying to cover up what our hearts want to say We've been hiding these words, we don't have to anymore 'Cause we're standing still Tell me what we're waiting for Chorus I know that you're scared, but you don't have to be afraid 'Cause I won't let you down, I'll be there every step of the way We've been keeping it quiet, but I need to say it out loud 'Cause it's about time to let our walls come down Chorus Tell me why, Tell me why we wait so long When we know, When we know where we belong If you're in, I'm in If you're down, I'm down Do you want this too? 'Cause I need it now If you say the word, I'll erase your doubts, I can show you, I can show you, If you're in, I'm in If you're down, I'm down Do you want this too? 'Cause I need it now If you say the word, I'll erase your doubts, I can show you, I can show you, That we don't have to be careful 'Cause my cards are on the table Chorus

Chorus If you're in, I'm in If you're down, I'm down Do you want this too? 'Cause I need it now If you say the word, I'll erase your doubts, I can show you, I can show you, That we don't have to be careful 'Cause my cards are on the table If you're in, I'm in If you're down, I'm down Let's do this, Let's do this... lucky one This is the 6th song on the new Simple Plan EP called Get Your Heart On – The Second Coming!. You can listen to it here. I guess we all love this song so much. When I first heard it, I cried like a little girl and I think I’m not alone – Lucky One is so emotional, it’s so real, that I think that the most of us cried when we heard it for the first time (or maybe even for the second time... or everytime we hear it). It’s a perfect mix of great lyrics and awesome acoustic music from our beloved band.

Simple Plan performing Lucky One on the SP Foundation event.

This song tells us that, however bad we feel, it’s not going to last forever! Because one day things WILL get better. We’re not always up, we feel down sometimes – and maybe that sometimes is more than it should be, but life is not just bad or just good. Life is a mix of good times and bad times. And when we’re getting through these bad times, we tend to forget that it will get better. Look, there’s winter, bad weather, you haven’t seen the sun in weeks. All you can see is a grey sky. Your mood is bad, you’re forgetting how to smile. But then comes that one day, when the clouds clear up for few minutes and you see a wonderful blue sky and shining sun. And you feel better and have strength to get through anything. It’s almost the same with music. We feel down, but then here comes that one song, or album or just music, and we feel better and stronger. And that’s what this song about – it’s about hope. Hope, that things will get better, that bad times will end and we’ll smile and we’ll be OK! Life isn’t easy, but it’s beautiful. We need to find those beautiful things in life. For us, as Astronauts, it’s mostly the music. It doesn’t matter if we listen to it or we make it, it‘s a bright sparkle in‚dark times. We just need to believe and not give up.

And what do Astronauts say about this song? Christina: It's one of my favorite songs on the EP! It's exactly how I feel so often at the last time! I love the meaning! It gives me hope! (@chrissi_sp) Marly: I love how it is their first actual acoustic track. Hearing it live here in Perth was great. Lucia: These times are hard for me... and I think I'm not alone. This song is so emotional, so turn up the "Lucky One" and you will see it helps. I found that I really needed something like this song :) Big thanks to SP! (@LuceAstronaut) Sinja: My personal favorite of the EP! So beautiful and the lyrics are so inspirational! Pierre‘s voice + guitar = perfect! Agnes: The Lucky One is probably my most favorite song of their EP. It tells us not to give up easily, especially in life. We might have terrible days, we feel worthless and unimportant, but it tells us that someday, somehow, we'll prove to the people our worth and our time will come when we can consider ourselves "the lucky ones"! ;) Emelie: It's brilliant, it's beautiful. It feels like such a perfect sequel or something to TSSML. I cried and cried hearing it, due to some serious personal issues and this just felt like "to all our fans hurting, we haven't forgotten about you and we're here", it's pure perfect. (@MissEmelie_) Vitória: It's a song that reminds me a lot of their first record. It kind of has that feeling to help the fans, it helps us to accept who we really are. (@dearvitt) Jelena: Another song that is made for me! The lyrics perfectly describe my life and makes me realize I'm not the only one who feels that way. The lyrics are so powerful, this song gives me hope that there will always be better days in life, it's not always everything perfect and it can't be, but there will come a day when everything will be fine. I love Pierre's voice here so much, and back vocals too...ohh I love the whole song! :D (@jelenaSP96) You can watch a fan lyrics-video here. you can watch Simple Plan performing this beautiful song live in Perth here.

What does Chuck say about this song? “It’s a song about things not going your way and things going a little hard – but there’s a twist to it, cause it’s very hopeful! That someday, thing’s are gonna change and I know that this is temporary. Whatever I’m going through, whatever’s happening – that kind of sucks right now – it’s not gonna last forever. And I know that things are gonna turn around...“

EP: Get Your Heart On – The Second Coming! Songwriters: Pierre Bouvier, Chuck Comeau, Claude Kelly Additional collaboration: Brian Howes (production) Length: 3:26 “Try” is the final song off of Simple Plan’s EP “Get Your Heart On - The Second Coming!” This song is about someone who constantly feels like they’re screwing up and making mistakes. The person is putting themselves down, listing all the bad qualities they possess and how these qualities affect those around them and the relationships they have with other people. They are implying that they are a burden to those around them. While the song starts out with a negative mindset, the song’s true meaning is about wanting to get better and striving to become a better person with the proper motivation. It’s a hopeful message, saying that life will get better if you give it a chance and make the effort to redeem yourself, and also about deserving a better life and a happier, more optimistic thought process. You can also say that the song uses another person in someone’s life as their motivation and desire to try to become a better person and to try to life a good life.

It’s a song about redemption. And just trying to be a better person. Cause we all screw up every once in a while and make mistakes. And sometimes you hurt other people.” – Chuck Comeau

"Try" I've never been the best at honesty, I've made more mistakes than I can even count, But things are gonna be so different now, You make me wanna turn it all around. I think of all the games that I have played, The unsuspecting people that I've heard, Deep inside I know I don't deserve, Another chance to finally make it work. But I'll try, to never disappoint you, I'll try, until I get it right, I've always been so reckless, all of my life, But I'll try, For you. I've been the best at letting people down, I've never been the kind of person you can trust, But if you can give me half a chance I'll show, How much I can fix myself for you. And I'll try, to never disappoint you, I'll try, until I get it right, I've always been so reckless, all of my life, But I'll try... This time I wont make up excuses (Cause I don't wanna lose you), Don't give up on me and I'll prove that, I can do this! I'll try, to never disappoint you, I'll try, until I get it right (till I get it right), I've always been so reckless, all of my life, But I'll try, For you. (Never been the best at honesty, you know that you can never count on me) I'll try for you! (But if you give me half a chance I'll show, there is nothing that I wouldn't do for you!) I'll try for you! I've always been so reckless, all of my life, But I'll try, For you.

What do fans think of the EP? We were all excited about SP’s new EP and we had already listened to parts of it. As far as we could hear, it’s an energetic album. In my opinion, this album is a cross between “NPNHJB” and ”Simple Plan”. It’s like the first album because that’s the way it sounds: energetic. It’s also like “Simple Plan” because it sounds more mature as well and the lyrics resembles the third album’s lyrics. That’s why I think that it’s more like “Simple Plan”. You can understand, this if you listen to “The Rest of Us”. This album should have been released in summer because it’s like a summer weather that gives you more happiness, power, energy and belief. Of course there are ballads called The Lucky One and Try. While you are jumping, suddenly you can find yourself chilling out. Again an enjoyable album from our boys! @pierre_1905 They know both of us, how we feel and Ordinary Life shows this. It’s like if you hear something in your head that says "Do what you do best every day of your life because it might tomorrow be something different." I read a lot about The Rest Of Us. People saying that they have changed, that they aren't the same. And the video should have many mouths closed because Simple Plan are the same from NPNHJB. The Rest Of Us is a song for everyone that said you couldn't achieve something, to everyone who tried to kill your dreams, to everyone whoever did feel less. The Rest Of Us is a song that tells you to be happy with the person you are. Outta My System, to me, is a song that helps you to remember to let go of something or someone. It is a good way to accept something. Makes you want to jump! It's a different song to which we're accustomed to hear from them. And I like who want to try new things. Not much to say about Fire In My Heart, it's too pretty! Definitely is a song to should be dedicated when you are in love. I really love it... When I heard the teaser of In, it left me as "Wow!" as when I heard Outta My System. I thought of NPNHJB and SNGA. Because I think that has a lot of SNGA even more than GYHO! The beginning of the song leaves me speechless! In my opinion they're trying to get back to their beginnings. Leaving aside their pop harmonies that they have in GYHO! Lucky One is for many, their favorite song of the EP and don't blame them, though I can't say which is my favorite song because all are really great! I like the acoustic touch that has... It's an emotive song, the type as Untitled, No Love or Perfect those songs are to cry an ocean. The top notes of Pierre in Try are... Ok, it's inexplicable to say as are but if I was already in love with his voice, I'm more in love after listening... When you feel that you've failed someone, even when you feel have failed yourself... Try drives you to want to be better. And I bet I'm not the only person who has cried. Greetings from Mexico! @ijossc

I think a good teaser for us to see what will be on the next record. They went back to their roots with songs like "In" that reminds me, a lot of the 3rd album, and with "Lucky One" that makes me think about their 2nd record They also wrote like their last album, GYHO!, the songs "Rest Of Us" and "Fire In My Heart" that gave me the sensation of party and summer that I felt with the last record. So it's mixed, and that's great! It'll please everyone! @dearvitt

The new Simple Plan EP is awesome. And when I say ‘awesome‘, I mean it’s so damn A-W-E-S-O-M-E and perfect. This EP was exactly what we all needed. Well, we needed new songs, something, we can listen to while there will be the 5th album, and they gave us 7 great songs we can love. And waiting is not that hard anymore, is it? Most of the songs are my favourite, but I guess I love Lucky One the most. Those lyrics and that acoustic music make a perfect mix we all can love and we all can relate to. Songs ‘Ordinary Life‘, ‘The Rest of Us‘ and ‘Fire In My Heart‘ are great as well. I don’t know what about you, but they fill me with energy. I really recommend listening to them in the morning, when you need to wake yourself up ;) Damn, I can’t write anything else, all I can write is, that all those songs are awesome and they have awesome lyrics and that this band is totally awesome. And that’s why we love them. @MariamAstronaut This SP EP came out at the right time in my life. The song Lucky One has giving me hope for the future. The lyrics describe my life at this point of time and that one day I will be back on my feet. This song will keep me strong through some tough times ahead. Jodie

GYHO2 was incredible! Although they wrote those songs at the time of GYHO I think they're very different from the chosen songs at the time. There's a different sound to these songs and most of them are upbeat and dancey songs! Plus I can hear that punk feel to it too! Once again, the lyrics are relatable as usual. It's tough to choose, because all of the songs are unique and amazing in their own ways but I think The Rest Of Us is my favourite, just because it's catchy, motivating and just makes you want to get up and do something great! @Maddie Birkett A review on "In" and "Try"? I think those songs are both my favorite along with "The Rest Of Us". I really like the feeling of "In", it goes powerful and with fast/slow points which I think that was what got me. The lyrics are very unspecific, so you can fit it anywhere, basically, which is good as well. It has a self-titled flavor, which is my favorite album, so... asdfghjkl;; Try is good, it's a beautiful ballad which shows a little weakness and is very melodic, I love it ~ gypsyofsuburbia.tumblr.com So the first time I listened to the album I didn’t really like any of the two songs but after a month or so I start liking In and now it's one of my favorite songs of the album! Seriously I can't stop listening to that song I really love it. And for Try I like the beginning of the song I don't know why but my very favorite song of the album is Lucky One. It totally describes me. ~anonymous

Ok so first I want to say that when the fourth album first came out I wasn’t really a fan. So I just stopped listening to them for awhile. But then the second coming came out and I said to myself This is the Simple Plan I love. In it's a song about love and I loooove it! The instruments and Pierre's voice đ&#x;˜? the lyrics, everything is perfect. -Anonymous Try is different tell me if I'm wrong but its the ''first'' song that the lyrics say that WE are the ''problem'' and we're gonna change for that person. So yeah I really like it. ~Anonymous I think this EP the guys are so much mature compared to the others CDS, rather the 3rd album called ‘Simple Plan’ because the lyrics are about relationships. You can see how the band grew up with the time, ‘Try’ and ‘In’ are an example of this, I listen to ‘Try’ and it reminds me of ‘Your Love Is A lie’, and if I listen to ‘In’, it reminds me of ‘My Alien’. The new EP is awesome, but I prefer the lyrics like ‘I’m Just A Kid’. If the new album that is coming soon comes with songs like ‘Try’ and ‘In’, I will love it, because I have grown up with them and when you think that they are getting â€?oldâ€?, To hear a calm song like ‘Try’, they come with songs like ‘In’, that bring you energy and a big desire to sing, like what happens when I listen to ‘I’m Just A Kid’ and ‘My Alien’, I understand that the guys from the band are not teenagers anymore, that as they are growing up the lyrics are growing too, and they know how to mix it. It’s like you hear ‘Try’ when you’re down and ‘In’ to be happy. They did an awesome job with those tracks. (Dan AlĂŞ) ~ addictedto-simpleplan This EP is just what I needed, to keep me going until they release a new CD! A great idea! I love all the songs, with Lucky One my fave. Chloe The SP EP is one I love! I think I like Lucky one the best as I love the music. It has a Simple Plan sound to it that I love! Nick If this is what to come for Simple Plan in the future I will be so happy! Regardless I think I will be happy with any new music from them bnt I am glad that I like this EP as much as I do! My fav song is Ordinary Life as it seems to just sum up how I feel right now about my life and I want to make changes. I also love Fire in my heart as I really like the lyrics. Sam I don’t like it as much as their other music but love Lucky One! Ben

WE THE KINGS

SOMEWHERE SOMEHOW

Track list: 1. Queen of Hearts 2. Find You There 3. I Feel Alive 4. I Like It 5. That Feeling 6. See You In My Dreams 7. Die Young Live Forever 8. Phoenix Hearts 9. Any Other Way 10. Say It Now 11. Art of War 12. Sad Song feat. Elena Coats 13. Just Keep Breathing

The album is the fourth one in the order and was released on December 16th 2013. The original title was Vitam Regum but was changed to Somewhere Somehow.

It’s a typical We The Kings record. It has a great mix of different beats, tempo and vibes which puts you in different moods while listening to the album. It’s a nice ride to be taken on and the first song Queen of Hearts sets a good introduction to the rest of the album. The singing starts right away and it begins with a chorus. The second song of the album is called Find You There and was released as a single on May 3rd, 2013. This is a band that master a lot of different genres and aren’t afraid to mix them together. That Feeling is a song that starts off with the lead singer Travis talking on the phone. He asks the girl to sing something for him that is used throughout the song which is a cool detail. One of the best choruses on the record goes to: See you In My Dreams. The drumming is absolutely amazing in this song. The chorus is by far the best part of the song and it’s something with it that I can’t really put my finger on that makes it so good. Another promising chorus that lifts the rest of the lyrics is Die Young Live Forever. The song Phoenix Hearts starts mysteriously with a ‘whoa, whoa’ to set the mood. The song builds up and has a clapping like sound in the background. A lot of drumming is coming through as well as xylophone like detail during the ‘whoa, whoa’ parts. Towards the end there’s nothing but an acoustic guitar and Travis voice for a few lovely seconds before it builds up for a finish and then drift off again with nothing but the guitar. The third single from the record is Any Other Way which is different, in a good way. It was released on June 14th 2013 with a cool sound and back vocals supporting most parts of the song. “I’ll never go down any other way” is a repeating sentence and the message of the song. Track #11 is the fourth single of the album and is called Art of War. It was released on December 9th 2013. “I’m a soldier till it’s over” is probably my favorite lyrics of the whole album. It stuck from the first time I heard it. Somewhere Somehow has a slower song with piano called Sad Song. Elena Coats fits into this love story with her voice matching Travis’ perfectly. High notes, vocals and a low volume build the song up nicely. Last song of the record Just Keep Breathing is actually the first single released on April 5th 2013. It’s about Travis being bullied as a kid. Once again we hear the ‘whoa, whoa’ like a choir in the background supporting and building up the chorus. It’s one of my favorite songs from the album. “Just take a breath and let it go” is a powerful sentence and to have that as a finish fills you with strength and hope about a better future. We The Kings aren’t afraid of anything and that makes the record so fresh, new and typical for the band.

“My teenage daughter wants to attend more than one show, should I let her?” HELL YES! The American pop/rock band All Time Low is currently in Europe with their A love like tour trying to visit as many countries as possible in Northern, Central Europe and of course, the United Kingdom. They hit Stockholm, Sweden on February 18 and were meant to play at Klubben at Fryshuset but due to the high demand, they were moved to Arenan in the same venue. Fans had been waiting all day in the surprisingly warm Stockholm winter and the expectations were high. The band was performing well, they were on top of their game and excited to play a sold out show, but they didn’t interact with the crowd as well as they usually do, might be because the attendees didn’t get all of the jokes. Jack and Alex joked around like they use to and Rian got some wise words from Jack. The most awkward thing that happened was when Alex called Stockholm Helsinki (capital of Finland), but quickly saved himself by blaming the set list and Jack backed him up by thanking Sweden for their love for orgies, and then telling the crowd that they were a part of massive orgy. They performed 24 songs and invited four fans to perform Timebomb with them. All Time Low played at Vega Musikkens Hus in Copenhagen, Denmark on February 21 and the Danish crowd was more than ready for the band to play. Copenhagen didn’t quite sell out, but had a much more excited crowd making Alex smile and laugh several times. The band seemed to be in a better mood as well as they cracked a lot more jokes and interacted with the crowd. Alex knew what city he was in this time and they left with a promise of coming back really soon. Their set lasted a bit longer than in Stockholm and consisted of 26 songs, one being Green Day’s American Idiot. I have seen this band perform five times and I dare to say, this is the best I have ever seen them. Seeing them twice on the same tour (again) made me realise it’s never the same show. One example would be the obvious – their show in Copenhagen gave two extra songs. But also in the fact that the crowd is different, the band members are in different moods and they have their ups and downs. Try to attend more than one show if possible on the same tour, because it is NOT the same show.

RESTORING FORCE

It has been three years since the American metal core band Of mice & men released an album and the fans have been dying for something new from the band. Their latest album Restoring Force hit stands on January 28 2014 and sold 51,000 copies on its first day. The album also reached number one on US Hard Rock, number two on UK Albums and number nine on Aus Albums. Of mice & men want to be more than “just another metal band” and wanted to change things a little bit with their third studio album since the formation in 2009. I dare to say, Restoring Force is heavier and surprisingly, softer than their two earlier albums. The opening song “Public service announcement” is a perfect mix between heavy and anthemic. Every now and then, we come across of what one would call “typical rock FM music”, this really depends on one’s viewpoint but this does not necessarily have to be a bad thing. Restoring Force is what Of mice & men do best – they appeal to the masses, yet staying true to their genre and what they believe in. They change things up in order to stay fresh and relevant, meaning they do exactly what they want – stepping away from being just another metal band. Over-all score of Restoring force: 8/10.

twitter talk David –

Again there is no tweets from David this month, but we did have this message from Jeff letting us know David was ‘On fire’

Chuck –

Taking in the half time show at the Super Bowl, Chuck was imagining how stressful it would be, but it would still be a dream gig for him. He may have been feeling a little Emo on Valentine’s Day, but reassured fans that we were all his Valentines. Watching the Canada/USA ice hockey match Chuck hoped that NHL payers would always play the Olympics. Chuck seemed pretty impressed with a little clip Pat posted on his instagram account. Ahhh, to be able to learn from the best. Rounding out the month, Chuck donned his hockey jersey in celebration of Canada’s gold medal Olympic win.

Pierre

– Pierre was wrapping it up this month, well his artist was wrapping up his leg sleeve. I agree, what an amazing piece of art.

Sebastien – Seb was loving SP trending of Twitter. If you didn’t know what to do on the weekend, there was always MOTH, and Seb was gathering music for upcoming shows. Snow may have looked beautiful falling from the sky, but he didn’t think it was looking that good when it’s in his shovel. Driving around gave him a chance to listen to some new music, but he was happy to finally be able to watch some of the Olympics. Having received his new guitar, Seb couldn’t wait to take it on the road. If you wanted to have a date with Seb on Valentine’s day, all you had to do is tune into MOTH, and pretend. Maybe he was finding his time off a little underwhelming, especially when he tweeted that filling his dishwasher and starting it was a big event for him. Hopefully a little writing session and working at the Coalition office proved more stimulating. But chilling by frozen water on a sunny day felt like summer to Seb. Hmmm, not too sure about that.

Jeff – Jeff hit the ground running this month, waking at 6am, doing his laundry, making business calls, checking through business reports, cooking tea and doing school runs. Yeap, he is a #superdad ;) He reminded us that practice makes perfect, and showed us how to man/woman up when we screw up. He was working late on new menus that he hoped to introduce the next day. He was loving his hosting responsibilities of his 3 venues, reminding us that just like in music, it was all in the details. Working his butt off all day, he was enjoying his late night guitar sessions. Let’s hope the “might’ in his tweet about doing a video comes true. Listening to romantic French lyrics, or taking in a movie. Jeff was making the most of what little down time he had. Before letting us all know that SP will be hitting the stage again in April.

February

Written by Leeann @adnaxar February 7th – Fellow Canadian Dan Aykroyd was back in Canada today promoting his new range of Vodka, and what better place to present his range, but at Jeff’s new bar, the Rufus Rockhead., before heading next door to Jeff’s new restaurant Shinji.

February 7th – Seb and Jeff were among 200 attendees at the Peace Grantmakers Network’s ‘Social Emotional Learning & Bullying Prevention symposium with the aim being to find solutions to eliminate bullying.

February 11th – Seb finally got his hands on his custom Framus guitar. You can check out the great unveiling right here.

February 12th- Today marks the 6th anniversary of Simple Plan Self Titled.

February 19th – Today Seb was a guest as part of the Coalition Music Enterpreneur program which helps artists develop their brand and career in the music industry where he talked not only about being a member of Simple Plan, but also his other musical ventures.

February 20th – Pierre visited artist Aaron Sella Vedova where his leg sleeve was finally completed. I for one can’t wait to get a decent look at that leg.

February 20th – The guys were able to catch up today to chat about their upcoming projects, album number 5, which is expected to be released early 2015.

February 23rd – In recognition of Canada’s gold medal win in this year’s Winter Olympics ice hockey final, Chuck took to Instagram posing in his Canadian hockey jersey.

Name: Leticia C. Country: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil When was the first time you heard about Simple Plan? I first met Simple Plan by my brother, by the year of 2003. He used to hear No Pad, No Helmets... Just Balls and I loved it! When was your first SP show? The first time I saw them alive, unfortunately, was in 2007, January 19th, to be more specific. It was their second time in Rio de Janeiro, but the first one, on 2005, I couldn't go due to my age. For how long have you been a SP fan? As I said, since 2003 I heard their music and it was then that I started falling in love and the feeling only increased since. How many times have you see them alive? I've seen them alive four times. The first, in 2007, here in Rio de Janeiro... After in 2009, also in Rio. In 2011 in Porto Alegre (a city in Southern Brazil), and the latest, in 2013, in Rio again. What do you love the most about Simple Plan? What I love the most in Simple Plan is the way they do their music, how they can be so sincere and pass their feelings. How they manage to make us feel what is happening and identify. The love they show for music and for us, fans, it's very admirable.

What's your favorite possession of Simple Plan and why? My first T-shirt of them is my favorite thing. It isn't official, but I bought the first time I went to their show. My friend's dad, who was with me, paid it for me, because I didn't have money and was the last T-shirt on the store. It certainly is very special for me. Say what Simple Plan means to you. Simple Plan means my life. It's very hard to look back, for ever since I can remember, and do not imagine a moment that I haven't had them "by my side". I've grew up with them, I've learned with them, got disappointed... Ultimately they're part of who I am. Favorite Simple Plan song and why? It's hard to pick up my favorite song, since I love them all. But I believe that "Promise" has something special for me. I don't know exactly what it is, but this is the song that I listen to whenever I'm very happy or very sad. This is the song I'd pick up to listen forever. Every time I listen to "Promise" something is touched in my heart.

Describe each member in one word. Pierre: love Jeff: Respect David: Wonderful Séb: Sweet Chuck: The best Do you have any tattoo related to Simple Plan? And if you don't, would you like to have one? I don't have, yet. but I think a lot about it. There's a phrase of "When I'm Gone" that says: "Leave the past in the past gonna find the future", and I think that would be my initial choice. If you could spend a whole day with SP, what would you do? If I could spend a whole day with them, probably would be a day with many conversations, games, exchange of stories, songs and a party too! What's your favorite part of A Big Package For You (ABPFY)? My favorite part of the DVD is when they're shooting their first music video, because it's awesome to see how excited and happy they are. It's great.

Best SP memories? It's hard to pick only one moment. I really love to remember my first show. How I got nervous, how it was wonderful. But I also like to remember how it was when I travelled to meet them, finally, after so many years. It was amazing and I'd go again. And other moment, I have to admit, that this one I really carry with much much much pride, was the show in 2014, when I gave them a Brazilian flag in which I wrote more than 300 fans' twitters. I made in the name of the website I work for, the Conexão Simple Plan (CSP), and the flag ended up on stage in their show in Rio de Janeiro and in São Paulo. Besides this, I'm also in Jeff and Chuck's twitter, also in Pierre's because I bought him a fake rubber ass.

Have you made friends thanks to SP? Yes, not many, but super precious and that shared unforgettable moments with me! Favorite Simple Plan video? I really like the Perfect World's video. It brings me good memories and makes me smile. Also, the Jet Lag reminds me of when I was in Canada, at the Toronto's airport. What song would you like Simple Plan to cover? My dream is to see them singing with All Time Low, maybe cover of Time Bomb, since it was a song written by Pierre and Chuck. I'd also like to hear some singers like Ellie Goulding. Apart Simple Plan, which other bands you like? I really love All Time Low and Forever The Sickest Kids. Also, I really like Hot Chelle Rae, Yellowcard, Marianas Trench and many others. If you could say anything to Simple Plan right now, what would you say? Don't you ever stop making my life special. Pick up an SP song that means the most to you and try to explain why. Again, Promise is a song very special for me. Somehow the melody makes me remember of who I am and what I want. It is very powerful. The last question, what is your wish you want to do with Simple Plan? My biggest wish is to continue finding them every time I want, and that they never let me down, because I can't imagine my life without them.

Jen: The Never Ever were the first band I interviewed and they hold a special place in my heart. Not only are they a bunch of talented young musicians they are super nice guys and girl!. They had an amazing concept for their fans, to hold a Cinema tour to show us their new music video prior to release and play us some acousstic songs. It was a great success and to see them on the huge screen was fantastic. As usual they ahd a great meet and greet and it was a afternoon to remember. If you have not already check out their new music video of In or Out here. Maddie : On the 23rd of February a huge goal of mine finally came true. After a few years of being a fan, I was finally going to see my favourite band (apart from SP, of course), The Never Ever! This was no ordinary show though, in fact I'm not even sure it's been done before! As a lot of you will know, TNE had decided to debut their new music video for 'In Or Out' on the big screen! This included a mini documentary on the making of the clip (never to be seen again) and an acoustic set. First of all, they all sounded AMAZING while performing! They performed a few old songs and new songs, a few favourites and of course the new single 'In Or Out'. But the video clip was what so many people were waiting for. It was so well thought out and I was so impressed, but not surprised that they could achieve such a great video. It's not a boring clip with just a singer performing either! The whole band is involved and the parts are shared around plus the storyline is genius! Check it out and see what I'm talking about! I'm so proud of this band and big things are bound to happen for them in the future!

Renee:On Saturday 22nd February, the Never Ever had their premiere

screening at of In Or Out at Dendy Newtown. They performed a few songs acoustically, before showing the new music video, mini doco and the video again. The video was produced well and the band did a great job improvising due to the change in weather. The rain set the scene and the location was perfect. The cinema was almost at capacity, which was wonderful to see, and I’m sure the band really appreciated it. The cinema was also very intimate, which allowed for interaction between the band and audience. After the video, the band spent time signing and talking to fans. Merch was also available for purchasing, I think we spent about 40 minutes talking to Dylan. Sorry for hogging him! This was such a fantastic idea, and a really unique and fun experience. However, I wish this trend catches on and we see more bands doing this.

Like them on facebook to keep up with their news!

What do you do on Simple Plan Space? Reviewer Have you seen SP live?: Yes, 2011 at Enmore Theatre, 2012 at Horden Pavillion, 2012 at Newcastle Panthers and 2013 at Van’s Warped Tour Sydney. Have you met them? Yes, at each of these shows.

Since when have you been a fan: I fell in love with songs such as Welcome To My Life, Crazy, Addicted, Shut Up and Untitled..these songs were my fav songs when these were released, but had no idea who the boys were, nor what they looked like..nothing. So then I decided to look them up and spotted Chuck, who caught my eye first!. Then after the 3rd self-titled album was released, I decided to purchase it and was absolutely blown away by it..with songs such as "The End" and "Take My Hand" getting repetitive plays, over and over again. This album was the clencher for me..and I fell in love....well more obsessed, with them. I felt this album was written for me, as at this time I was going throu a bad relationship and the lyrics was exactly what I was going throu. It's like they had written that album based purely on me and my relationship. I used to play "When I'm Gone" in the car when we would go driving, hoping the "lyrics" would hit home!. Then "You Suck At Love" was released and I freaked out!...word for word that song is MINE!.. EXACTLY what I went throu with that relationship. That song WAS written for me! Fav SP Song: At this very moment, it's "The Rest Of Us", as this is getting played the most. Fav SP music video: Untitled...as it's a very moving piece of art, and a very "valid" issue, dealing with drink driving and the impact it has on families and society. Bands beside SP you like: Fall Out Boy, Boys Like Girls, We The Kings, New Found Glory, Linkin Park, The Used, Hot Chelle Rae, Forever The Sickest Kids, Nickelback, You Me At Six, All Time Low, Lit, 5 Seconds Of Summer, Green Day, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Blink-182 and the charts. Hobbies: I like to spend my spare time mixing music and arranging soundscape/soundtracks.. remixing and editing songs. Also love my sleep..I consider this a hobby! Languages: English, Jibberish and Rubbish What do you do for a living?: I used to be a Professional dancer and Choreographer, having worked at Fox Studio's Backlot at Fox Studio's Sydney (1999-2001), Performing with the Australian Ballet in "La Bayadere" (1998) "Spartacus" (2002), and "Romeo and Juliet" (2003). I used to teach and choreograph classical ballet, contemporary and street dance to high school students as well at a local dance school. Now I am just working as Service Supervisor/Check Out Chick at Woolworths Town Hall, which I have been there since 2002. Fave books: I don't read books...I'm more of a newspaper type of guy. Fave movies: Ice Age (all), Shrek (all), Centre Stage, Bring It On, Puss In Boots, Paranormal Activity (1-4), Hairspray, A League Of Their Own, High School Musical (all), Avatar, Resident Evil series, X-men series, Transformers series. Fave TV Shows: Home and Away, The Big Bang Theory, Under The Dome. Other Loves: I love my shoes (Nike Tn's and Air Max's only thou! - approx 23 pairs!, which only 3 pair's only really get used), hence my nickname of Imelda Marcos!!. Also my music and CD Library.....my life would be just incomplete without my music. Hopes or Dreams for the Future: I have an ambition to feature in just ONE video clip with the boys on one of their singles...I want this more than winning lotto!..or just choreograph/direct or co-direct with Chuck a video of theirs!.
