Jeremy George Lake Charles C2 Corvette The second generation of the C2 Corvette, introduced as the Ste-Ray model, continued with fiberglass body parts that were smaller than those of the first generation. It had a huge impact on the styling of the generation, but it was so exaggerated that I can't give a definitive version of how it looked.
After years of rumor and speculation, the C8 Corvette Stingray 2020 will be the first mid-engined model. Such a move would change the appearance of the Corvettes, since the placement of the mid-engine would mean a completely new frame. Moving the engine would allow the Corvette to compete with its powerful European counterparts. But Chevy took the opportunity to reinvent the Corvette design, removing more than a few features of 2020 C8 Corvette Stingray, including the extended nose of its predecessor. The sixth generation represents a "major upgrade" for the Corvette, says Dave Hill, the chief engineer of the Corvette line of vehicles and general manager at GM Performance Cars.
Our goal was to create a Corvette that was more than just a performance car. We call the C8 Corvette the most significant turning point in usable mid-engine performance since the original Acura NSX in the early 1990s. In many areas we have improved performance and at the same time developed new features and capabilities by searching for and destroying every imperfection we could find.
