A Bengali-language article of Hubert Arun Rozario on the Baruni Mela (Baruni Fair) at Hashnabad of Dhaka District, Bangladesh. This fair, although in honour of Baruni, wife of Borun - the Hindu god of water - was annually held until 1952 at the Catholic zamindari estate of Hashnabad. Hindus, Christians and Muslims gathered there to enjoy the fair held in the Bengali month of Chaitra in the Good Friday week-end.
