“As I sit in Heaven”

As I sit in Heaven And try to let you know with signs I never went away. I hear you when you’re laughing, and watch you as you sleep. I even place my arms around you to calm you as you weep. I see you wish the days away, begging to have me home. So I try to send you signs so you know you are not alone. Don’t feel guilty that you have life that was denied to me. Heaven is truly beautiful, just you wait and see. So live your life, laugh again, enjoy yourself, be free! Then I know with every breath you take you’ll be taking one for me.

A Beautiful Mother

Your love, your sacrifice, your smile You left a legacy in even the smallest things You gave so much of yourself Loving others unselfishly and unconditionally. You were a light, a beacon, a fire Burning bright through the years You put your burdens on the shelf Giving your heart so freely and beautifully. You brought laughter, learning, and joy Into moments large and small Your heart was your true wealth A beautiful mother inside and out. With Love, Michael, Lisa, and David

What is a Grandmother

A grandmother is a remarkable woman. She’s a wonderful combination of warmth and kindness, laughter and love. She overlooks our faults, encourages our dreams, and praises our every success. A grandmother has a the wisdom of a teacher, the sincerity of a true friend, and the tenderness of a mother. She’s someone we admire, respect and love very much. A grandmother will always have a cherished place in our memories and in our hearts. She’s someone for whom we want every happiness in return for the joy she always bring. A grandmother is all dear and precious things in life... When she’s a grandmother like you.

Life’s Reflections

lorida Mae Williams Parker was born in Memphis, TN, on July 21st, 1942, to the late Johnnie Williams and Annie Eslean Tuggle Williams. Florida’s years were marked by adventure, love, and a spirit that brightened the lives of everyone she met. Florida will forever be a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, neighbor, church member, and friend to many. Florida peacefully transitioned into her eternal home on Saturday, December 16th, 2023. Florida was a proud graduate of Melrose High School class of 1960. She was a devout New Philadelphia Baptist Church member, where she dedicated her time to volunteering as an usher, choir member, and on the food and decoration committee. She actively participated in events at the Orange Mound Community Center. Florida’s life was a vibrant example of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Her home was a haven of warmth and great food. As a military wife, her life was a beautiful journey at home and across the globe, where she traveled and formed lasting friendships with her husband, Master Seargent David George Parker Sr. Florida was the cornerstone in her family, a cherished wife to David Parker Sr., a loving mother to Michael Williams, Lisa Hendrix, and David Parker Jr. Florida was preceded in death by her late husband, David George Parker Sr., parents Annie Eslean Tuggle Williams, Johnnie Williams, and Estelle Williams, brothers Essex, Melvin, and Jerry Hill, and sisters Deborah Hill Benson and Phyllis Williams Kuyateh. Florida’s family legacy includes her children Michael Williams, Lisa Hendrix, and David Parker Jr. (Marsha). She was a doting grandmother to eight: Christopher, Ebony, Dividra, Ashley, Imani, Dasha, Devon, and Tasha. A great-grandmother to two, Saniyah and Jayden, all of Memphis, TN. Her siblings include brothers Bobby Hill (Rosa), Johnnie Williams (Sharon), and Lonnie Williams, along with her sister Cardester Williamson (Tyrone), sisters-in-law Shelby Parker Hines (William) and Sandra Parker Hines (Bruce). She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and a devoted friend, Clara Tipton. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
