“I’m Free”
Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free, I’m following the path God laid for me
I took his hand when I heard him call, I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way, I’ve found that peace at the close of day
If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss
Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much, Good friends, good times, my loved one’s touch
If my time seemed all too brief, Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart, rejoice with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.

My dad was a remarkable man who shaped my life in every way. He dedicated himself to being the best father I could ever ask for. He took us on incredible adventures when he moved our family to Japan &immersed us in a culture that broadened our horizons. His guidance never wavered. He taught me discipline, the value of hard work& he always lead by example. His actions showed me what it truly means to be strong, caring, and committed man. Though cancer took him from us far too soon his love, lessons, and legacy will forever live in my heart.

Fathers play such a significant role in a girls life. Sometimes it can go unrecognized until u grow old but I see it in how I am as a mother, wife & woman. A Father’s love for u may not always be spoken, but it’s always shown. I hope I became everything you said I would. I love you eternally.

A Letter to My Son
Roderic, you were my firstborn. You have always had a special place in my heart. I’m remembering the last thing I would do and say at the end of my visits with you. I would rub and kiss your bald head and say, “love you, man, see you.” I didn’t know that would be the last time. Missing you already. Mama!

Thank you for showing me what a man looked like at a young age. Hopefully while you’re watching over me I put a smile on your face for who I have become. Give Momma a hug for me. Love you Pops!-
