Life’s Reflections
Towanda
Sandra Carter Moore was born on August 8, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, to her late parents, Mammie Johnson and Samuel Terry Carter.
Towanda confessed to Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She graduated from Austin High School in Chicago, Illinois, and later relocated to Memphis, Tennessee. Towanda loved singing, dancing, and cooking.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jacqueline Carter.
Towanda leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Thomas Moore; son, Isaiah Carter, daughters, Shamone Carter and Juesondra Carter; brother, Antonio Carter; sister, Shirley Carter; granddaughters, Reniya Hollis, Renisha Hollis, Nekeriah Pleas, Samyria Pleas, Journee Davis, grandson, Josiah Hollis, nephews; Christopher Carter and Samuel Carter, niece; Janell Carter, and a host of other relatives, family, and friends.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
“The Broken Chain”
We little knew that day, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone. For part of us went with you, The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide. And although we cannot see you, You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.

A Much Loved Grandma
The day that God called your name It broke my heart into two But Heaven needed an Angel And the one he picked was you I just wish he could have waited And let you stay with me But you left memories in my heart And that’s where they’ll always be I just wish I could rewind the clock Or make it turn real slow I could have hugged you one more time Before you had to go No matter how much time will pass I’ll miss you everyday Keep shinging bright in Heaven So you can light my way
Legacy of Love
A wife, a mother, a grandma too, This is the legacy we have from you You taught us love and how to fight You gave us strength, you gave us might. A stronger person would be hard to find, And in your heart you were always kind. You fought for us all in one way or another Not just as a wife not just as a mother. For all of us you gave your best And now the time has come for you to rest. So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep, YOur love in our hearts we’ll eterenallykeep
Acknowledgements
A friendly smile, a casual touch, a kind expression...These are the things that mean so much. To know you are with us in our time of sorrow, sharing our prayers, today and tomorrow. God gives us the comfort in the form of family and good friends. May His peace be with you because His love never ends. ~The Family
