W iley Clem Walls was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Greenie and Linnie Walls. His two brothers, Richard Brown and Greenie Walls, Jr., preceded him in death. Wiley joined Mt. Moriah under the pasturage of Rev. A. D. Bell at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church – Carnes Avenue at an early age. He was very active in the church and remained faithful until his career in the United States Air Force caused him to relocate. He served our country for 26 years and retired as a master sergeant. Wiley attended Melrose High School at 843 Dallas Street from the 1st to the 12th grades and graduated in 1949. He later attended Tennessee State University. Wiley united in holy matrimony with the late Helen Jean Wright on December 30, 1955, and began to travel to various parts of the world as he fulfilled his military duties. During this travel, Lisa Monee’ was accepted into this union. Wiley was a devoted husband and outstanding father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Wiley remained faithful to “Dear Melrose High” as he attended every Melrose Mass Class reunion until his wife’s health prevented her from traveling. Wiley leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted daughter, Lisa Monee’ Boyle (Derrick); adopted son, Frederick Smith (Portland, OR); three grandchildren, Courtney K. Jones, Sr. (Dallas, TX), Justin L. Moore (St, Louis, MO), Chasity L. Moore; one step-granddaughter, Anjanica Boyle; seven great-grandchildren, Courtney K, Jones, Jr., Honeyunna M. Williams, Jacksyn C. Boyle, Maverick R. Reed (deceased), Stephen R. Sangster, Malayna Tennant, and Skylar R. Sangster; plus a loving host of cousins, extended family, caregivers, friends, and church members to celebrate and remember a life well-lived.
Dear Family and Friends, I wanted to let you know that I have moved. I received a call from God who informed me that my new home is ready and that I could move in immediately. You all know that I have been send up my timber, packing up and getting ready to go, but there were some final touches to be done. Well, my new home is finished and it is such a beautiful sight. Behold! It is located in an exclusive estate, and it sits behind the Pearly Gates. Of course, the streets are paved with gold and every day is Sunday. I have lived in many places before but none can compare. There is peace, joy and happiness everywhere. I could go on and on about my new home, but I have to get fitted for my new robe. I look forward to seeing you again. Before I go, let me give you my new address” Wiley Clem Walls 66 Jesus Way • God Town, Heaven 452022 P.S. I don’t have a telephone yet, but just call God. If you don’t know his number, he is listed in the Good Book on every page.
