Nine miles by five miles. That’s the size of Jersey. It’s not a lot, you may think. You’d be wrong. The Island is a mix of British reserve and French savoir-faire, buzzy, cosmopolitan harbours and timeless hidden valleys, continental flair and scenes that are reassuringly familiar. Its diverse attractions and natural beauty offer something for everyone and make it an ideal destination for short breaks, romantic weekends, active experiences, foodie getaways and family summer holidays.

VISIT JERSEY
01
Coastal sanctuary
St Ouen’s Bay: Miles of beautiful sandy beaches, washed twice daily by the waves rolling in from the Atlantic Ocean. Stretching for five miles (8kms) from end-to-end - this is a paradise for surfers, but with room and facilities for all.
02
PUREJERSEY
Feel the sand between your toes and the fresh sea breeze in your hair on Jersey’s beautiful beaches. Jersey’s coastline is a constantly expanding and contracting wonderland to be enjoyed and explored. Someone once counted our beaches – apparently there are 27. What this figure doesn’t tell you is their sheer variety – from the vast stretch of St Ouen’s Bay to intimate coves like Beauport.
VISIT JERSEY COAST
03
Beauport Bay: One of Jersey’s most delightful beaches. A veritable sun trap on the south coast. The perfect place to create happy memories.
04
PUREJERSEY
Shore Thing Forgive the pun, but it’s a sure thing that you’ll find a beach to suit you in Jersey. Head for the north and east coast for rock pools teeming with marine life, or south and west for glorious golden sands, washed by the tides each day.
VISIT JERSEY COAST
05
Magnetic Coast Swap the city for dramatic ocean views, lapping waves, towering cliffs and sublime sunsets. There is no better way to recharge than a few days relaxing on our coast, watching the tide rushing up the sand or spotting the seals and dolphins dipping in and out of the waves in the distance. So, pack your walking boots – and don’t forget your binoculars.
06
PUREJERSEY
Made for walking: Jersey coastal walks share spectacular views across the rugged north coast.
VISIT JERSEY COAST
07
Unseen Jersey See the coast like never before on a moonlit night time walk. Expert guides will train your eyes and take you to secret spots, where marine animals only come to life at night leaving beautiful trails of bioluminescence behind them. Hugging the coast you’ll see other worldly looking beaches and Tolkienesque towers exposed by low tide.
08
PUREJERSEY
Undiscovered Plémont: Secret places on an Island the size of Jersey? You’d be surprised. This has got to be Jersey’s most beautiful beach, a sandy cove on the north coast with rock pools, sea caves, an excellent café and safe bathing.
VISIT JERSEY COAST
09
Inland Island It’s no surprise that Jersey is known for its coastal walks. But take a step away from the sea and you’ll find an interior that’s every bit as captivating.
10
PUREJERSEY
Jersey in bloom: You can’t help having green fingers in Jersey thanks to our rich soil, long hours of sunshine and mild climate. Spring arrives early and with summer warmth lingering on into the autumn months our fabulous floral tapestry helps stretch the season.
VISIT JERSEY COUNTRYSIDE
11
Val De La Mare Arboretum: It’s worth seeking out Val de la Mare. This tranquil arboretum, founded in 1975, has 12 distinct zones and over 300 specimens, including a giant redwood.
12
PUREJERSEY
The Colour Green Going green comes naturally in Jersey. After all, we’ve been doing it for long enough. We were the first destination in the world to be awarded Green Globe destination status in recognition of our environmentally friendly work. From coastal footpaths to cycle tracks weaving across an inviting landscape of valleys and Green Lanes, come and explore our sustainable sanctuary.
VISIT JERSEY COUNTRYSIDE
13
Jersey, naturally For nature as nature intended there’s an abundance of wild, untouched spaces cared for by the National Trust for Jersey and protected as Sites of Special Interest, rich in natural beauty and wildlife. Wildlife likes Jersey – and we all like to watch it. Keep an eye open for the yellow headed marsh harrier at the Wetland Centre and the rare Jersey orchids at Le Noir Pré and red squirrels in the wood.
14
PUREJERSEY
The Wetland Centre: Overlooks St Ouen’s Pond Site of Special Interest (SSI) nature reserve and acts as both a state-of-the-art bird hide as well as a wetland interpretation centre. Now firmly established in the premier league of Jersey’s natural attractions.
VISIT JERSEY COUNTRYSIDE
15
Railway walk: From St Aubin, head inland along the ‘Tracks of Steam’ – a former railway line, now a lush, tree-lined pathway – that leads to Corbière Lighthouse
16
PUREJERSEY
A green maze Our Green Lanes are the envy of other destinations. We have lots of them – inland Jersey is latticed with a green maze of around 50 miles of traffic-calmed lanes (vehicle speeds are restricted to a lazy 15mph) which welcome walkers, cyclists and horse riders in which to get lost – in the nicest possible way, of course.
VISIT JERSEY COUNTRYSIDE

Timewatch Is there another patch of land measuring nine miles by five on the planet that’s richer than Jersey when it comes to historic sights?
18
PUREJERSEY
Grosnez Castle: Step out to the spectacularly located headland ruin thought to date from the 14th century.
VISIT JERSEY HERITAGE
19
The Island is studded with places to visit ranging from haunting prehistoric tombs to gripping reminders of World War Two. In between, there are medieval castles, museums and manor houses. You’ll relive the WW2 Occupation at the Island’s unmissable War Tunnels experience. On a lighter note, mums, dads and kids will love exploring exciting Mont Orgueil Castle and singing along to sea shanties at the Maritime Museum.
20
PUREJERSEY
Noirmont Command Bunker: Discover mysterious prehistoric sites and German war bunkers scattered across the Island.
VISIT JERSEY HERITAGE
21
Seafood: Our clear waters, warmed by the Gulf Stream, produce an abundance of top-quality shellfish including crabs, lobsters, mussels, scallops and oysters.
22
PUREJERSEY
We’ve got taste We’re an Island in love with our food. And who can blame us, with such fantastic local produce in our seas and fields? Our thriving food culture runs deep, embracing everything from bistros to beach cafés, fine dining to gastropubs. That’s the thing about this Island – the uniform quality you’ll find everywhere, from the humblest café to Michelin-starred restaurant. It’s all good.
VISIT JERSEY FOOD
23
Eat like a local Nowhere is Jersey’s food culture better represented than in her bistros. Some are surfer-casual, and others smarter. Then come the cheeky little kiosks and beach cafÊs dotted around the coast. All the very best of local produce from land and sea at pleasingly reasonable prices.
24
PUREJERSEY
St Aubin Village: The picturesque harbour of St Aubin has a sleepy, old world atmosphere yet can be lively too. There’s a bemusing choice of quayside restaurants and bars with everything on the menu from smart Italian to funky fusion cooking.
VISIT JERSEY FOOD
25
Our foodie reputation It has something to do with our rich soil, fertile farmlands, gentle climate and A-Grade seawaters. And, quite possibly, the fact that we’re so close to the famously food-obsessed French. It’s certainly a reflection of our Island status and all that super-fresh sea and farm food that surrounds us.
26
PUREJERSEY
Cream of the crop: Digging potatoes on the vertiginously steep fields, or ‘côtils’ above the picturesque Mont Orgueil Castle at Gorey.
VISIT JERSEY FOOD
27
Made in Jersey Jersey is famous the world over for its incredibly creamy milk, enjoyed everywhere from the tables of our Island to the teacups of Buckingham Palace. But that’s not all our incredible Island has in its larder. To enjoy the best of what Jersey has to offer, visitors should look for the Genuine Jersey Mark – a guarantee of local provenance. 28
