Mayor’s Letter
from Boca Chamber 2023
by JES Media
Dear Chamber Members, Residents, and Visitors,
As Mayor of Boca Raton, I have the honor of working with so many community partners, including the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, to further enhance our vibrant, world-class city. The City of Boca Raton and our business community continue to thrive. As the last two years have caused many businesses to reconsider where they want to be, many companies have relocated to Boca Raton. We are growing our strong business beyond the 13,000 businesses that called our city home before the pandemic. The Boca Chamber is a key part of our business climate, counting many of our largest employers and hundreds of businesses of all sizes among its membership.
Our city and our region are now experiencing a massive influx of new business and growth, stemming in part from changes in how and where people can work. Innovative business leaders are flocking to our area to take advantage of the businessfriendly lifestyle we all enjoy. When you can work from anywhere, why not work in paradise? With more people able to work from home, we are attracting new residents, visitors and businesses every day. With more mobility options, including the new high-speed Brightline rail station in our downtown, we can continue to expect to attract commerce and tourism.
Boca Raton remains a true full-service city, offering a low tax rate, safe and livable neighborhoods, A-rated schools, five miles of pristine beaches, 1,600 acres of beautiful parks and recreational amenities, cultural programs and activities, and a wide variety of shops, restaurants and hotels. We are still consistently ranked as one of America’s best cities in which to live, work, learn, play and retire.
Boca Raton’s business community has shown unified resiliency and creativity during the pandemic and our recovery. The Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce has been a champion for local businesses, providing resources, advocating for small business grants, and collaborating with nonprofits to serve those in need. Boca Raton Regional Hospital, a Baptist Health South Florida affiliate, provided essential medical care and vaccinations for our community, and offers the best advances in modern medicine.
Our well-diversified industry base, our pro-business climate, low taxes, streamlined permitting and countless other advantages will continue to attract corporate headquarters and support technology incubators and accelerators—including Florida Atlantic University’s Research Park and Tech Runway—to help entrepreneurs grow their ventures. A major renovation and expansion of the landmark hotel, The Boca Raton; innovative programs at Lynn University and FAU; and the attractiveness of our Boca Raton Airport and its Customs facility are a few more reasons why business booms in Boca.
As always, the Chamber remains an important community partner. For our residents and businesses, the Boca Chamber’s Annual Directory is a great resource to stay connected or get reconnected, given the past year of distancing. For our visitors, we hope you will see our city for yourself and decide what more companies and people keep doing—wisely choosing Boca Raton as the new home for their family and business. Very best wishes,
Scott Singer Mayor
