Foundation 1 Entry Booklet
Welcome to JESS Dear Parents, At JESS we value the partnership between home and school. We look forward to working with you and your child over the coming months and years. Please can you share this booklet with your child, completing the information pages to give us a picture of your child and their interests. The completed pages should be returned to your class teacher when you come into school. Thank you for your support.
The Foundation One Team
Soon you will be starting in Foundation 1 at JESS. We hope you are looking forward to it as much as we are! You will wear a light blue polo shirt and navy blue shorts for boys or a skort for girls and black shoes with velcro straps. Try your uniform on before you come to school and see if you can put your socks and shoes on by yourself. Don’t forget to bring your JESS sun hat to school every day. You will need to get a new snack box during the holidays. You can get whatever one you like as long as you can open and close it by yourself. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle as well. Practise packing your healthy snack into your snack box. There is a library at school and you will go every week to get a book. You will need a JESS book bag to keep your book tidy and safe. You will do PE twice a week. For PE you will wear blue t shirt and white shorts for boys and blue shorts for girls and trainers. In Term 3, protocols permitting, you will go swimming - that will be so much fun!
Make sure your name is on everything. Lots of fun things will happen in school. Each week you will have music with the music teacher and you will learn lots of new songs and play different instruments. When you come to visit your new classroom, please bring a picture you have drawn or painted and aphoto of yourself and you with your family for the classroom wall. All your new friends can’t wait to meet you.
