Eliminate Update 2015 not only marks the centennial year of Kiwanis, but it also marks the end of the Eliminate Project. Kiwanis has pledged that by the end of this year we will reach our $110 Million goal. Currently, we have raised $72 million dollars, and are working full force to gain the last $38 Million dollars. Circle K International has made it’s own great strides in the efforts. CKI has the highest per member donation total at $1.43.

In February CKI will promote our international campaign program “Show Your Love, Save A Life”. CKI encourages clubs to hold fundraising efforts for the Eliminate Project around Valentines Day. Here are a few ideas for clubs to consider: Elimidate: Speed Dating Dance to Elimintate Eliminate Dinner Sell Valentine’s Day Cards Sell origami foam roses in blue Sell flower/candy grams to club members These are just a few ideas! Start planning to by creating your own fundraiser or check out more by clicking here.

District Convention It is that time of year again to get ready for District Convention! The 55th annual convention will look different than ever before! Not only is there a new location, but also this year the convention will be 2 days rather than 3! The district board and DCON committee has been working diligently to make this year’s DCON, the “happiest place on earth”. That’s right! This year’s theme is Disney! So grab your mouse ears and register today! Click Here for Registration.

Where: Embassy Suites, Indianapolis. When: Feb. 28 & March 01. Cost: $150

While the price of DCON is at a lower price this year, it can still be a burden on a student budget. Don’t fret though! Talk to your Club President’s and LTG’s about funding opportunities or looking into these options. Large Scale Service Projects Planning service projects no matter the size can be a difficult, but large scale service project planning can be extremely difficult. Definitions as to what makes a project large scale can vary by number of participants, hours served, or a number of other factors. At the District level we have our own DLSSP Committee; chaired this year by Mallory Nollen. The DLSSP chair plans the annual Fall Service Kick-Off project, and this year Mallory is working on a Spring DLSSP. LSSPs can also be seen at the International level at CKIx. LSSP is what makes the CKI Convention different than all of the other Kiwanis Family Conventions. For 2 days members will be in the host city, this year Indianapolis, giving back to the community that hosts the convention. LSSP Committee Chair, Mak Hozo knows that large scale service planning can be daunting task and sometimes a little bit difficult. So to help everyone a bit he made a checklist for members to follow when planning LSSPs for their own clubs.

If you have questions in LSSP planning contact Mallory at dlssp@indianacirclek.org or if you have questions about LSSP at CKIx contact Mak at ckilssp@gmail.com
