JESSICA JOHNSON OUGD601

COLOURS Two colours were chosen to keep it to a minimal contrast, the turquoise makes the publication fall into the unisex category, it remains unbiased this way. The white is very clean and contrasting and allows a strong figure-ground concept.

TYPEFACE The typeface I have used was Calibri, a sans serif humanist font that offers high readability. The type needed to be clean, clear and simple to fit in with the theme of the rest of the booklet.

Cover

As this is only a short handbook to give minimal and basic information the size of it only needed to be small and so an A5 format was worked to, this is big enough to present the information clearly and in a way that is spread out.

The cover of this booklet is a handmade paper, within the handmade paper there are flecks of colour such as turquoise, this creates a link between the outer and the inner characteristics of the booklet but the texture of the cover contrasts the smooth inside stock creating again another strong figure and ground principle, clearly defining the foreground.
