Ralph RIVERSIDE WulzTENNIS CENTER Ralph Wulz Riverside Tennis Center serves all players, from beginners to advanced, by providing affordable lessons, equipment and court time while promoting tennis as a lifetime sport for your health. We are excited to highlight new classes that will be offered this fall at Riverside Tennis Center!

All Adult lessons are scheduled as daily classes to allow those with busy schedules to pick and choose the days they would like to attend. Regular classes such as Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Drills are offered twice a week in addition to the new classes – Fit Tennis and Stroke Clinic.

Fit Tennis improves your tennis performance and fitness levels all at once by combining basic tennis drills with cardiovascular exercise. This class will allow you to put your shots into practice with fun tennis games, while adding a variety of fitness activities such as use of medicine balls, jump ropes and other equipment. Fit Tennis is designed for players of all levels.

If you are looking to advance your league play, a variety of Leagues are available place during the fall session: • Tennis Drop-in Coed Singles and Doubles • Monthly sessions of tennis Men’s Singles and Doubles • Monthly sessions of Coed Pickleball

The new Stroke Clinic is a great way to learn a new shot, maintain good technique or work on specific problem areas. Each week focuses on a different stroke, with strokes repeating monthly. Over the summer, the Tennis Center added three outdoor pickleball courts which are available to rent at the regular court rental rates. The Center is excited to offer Pickleball - Introduction and Drop-in Pickleball on these new courts. For Junior Players, group lessons will be offered multiple days during the week for Tots through Advanced levels. Also new this fall will be Drop-in Point Play for juniors on Saturday afternoon, which will help players gain match experience.

For Active Adult Players 55 and older, there will be tennis Drop-in Doubles Play Friday mornings on the indoor courts. Don’t forget, we also offer court rentals as well as the ball machine. Be sure to check Riversidetenniscenter.com and the Tennis Center's Facebook page for additional information on special events and tournaments, like the upcoming All Wooden Racquet Throwback Classic on September 8th. No matter what ability level or experience you may have with tennis or pickleball, we hope to see you at Riverside. Turn to pages 42-43 for more details on fall classes, leagues and tournaments.

All aboard for a magical journey! The fun begins with a reading of Chris Van

Allsburg’s The Polar Express and is followed by a craft and a train ride to visit the North Pole. Enjoy s'mores and hot chocolate at the campfire circle, while singing holiday songs. Kids are encouraged to wear pajamas. An adult must also attend and register. Ages 2+.

Out of school? Get into our camp! Don’t stress with what to do with the kiddos during those in-service days! Linwood, Edgemoor and Orchard Recreation Centers provide licensed and supervised day care for children ages 6-13.

Kids will enjoy sports, games, crafts, and other activities during in-service days from school!

Parents can rest easy with this safe and affordable option. Extended hours allow for before and after work pick up and drop off. Kids bring their own lunch and drink daily. Information:

All participants are grouped by ability and must register by session. Director approval is required to move into the next level. Wichita City Council The City Council is made up of six elected officials representing six different areas of Wichita. City Councilors propose, vote on and pass the laws that govern the city.

City Council meetings are held the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Tuesdays at 9:00 am in the Council Chambers in City Hall. Meetings are not held if the Tuesday falls on a holiday or if it is the 5th Tuesday of the month.

Once a written withdrawal request is received, the refund/ credit amount is determined based on the request date. Refunds may take up to three weeks to process. The $1 online registration convenience fee is non-refundable.

Wichita Park & Recreation is committed to excellence and strives to provide the highest quality classes. If you are not completely satisfied with a class or program, submit your concerns in writing and a member of our administrative staff will contact you.

Classroom Policy

For safety reasons, children are not allowed in adult classes.

Classes canceled by Wichita Park & Recreation due to low enrollment or unexpected circumstances are entitled to a full refund/credit. If your course is canceled, we will attempt to notify you by phone or email prior to the first class. You may also apply the class fee to another course. To withdraw from a class, submit a written request to bmcguire@wichita.gov, fax to 316.858.7611 or drop off at any recreation center. Include the student’s name, contact information, class information and tell us the reason for the request. Withdrawal forms are also available at Wichita.gov/ ParkandRec.

Inclement Weather

Every effort is made to maintain standard operations during inclement weather. However, if a class cancellation is necessary, we will attempt to notify you by phone or email. All efforts are made to reschedule canceled classes.

Register Early!

Reserve your spot by registering at least three days prior to the class start date. Payment is due when registering. Decisions affecting classes are made in advance, so register early to prevent an unnecessary class cancellation! Late registrations will be accepted if space and materials are available.

Keep a record of the dates and times of your registered classes, as registration reminders are not sent.
