24 Hour Design CHallenge February 2015
This work was produced in the 24 hour Huddersfield University Design challenge which I was nominated by tutors to take part in. The Brief was to create a product that would help assist the ageing population. The competition was completed in small groups over two days. My teams product and presentation came first out of the 7 teams involved. My part in the team required me to create a logo and presentation board for the product, aswell as diagrams and symbols. Throughout team work, working with clients and presentation skills were developed and improved.

brief for this years competition. The brief required me to redesign J2O to appeal to a target audience of 25-35year-old men and women. As it stands, 40% of J2O consumption is by those aged 16 and under.
idea I drew fruit illustrations that resembled fruit peel, and combined them with a group of hexagons blended with paint markings, which I produced using brusho. I created an idea for Orange & Passionfruit and Apple &Mango.
I decided to go with a design that higlighted that J2O is a blend of two fruits. For the final

Branding myself January 2015
After creating a personal logo which was originally monochrome, I decided to create a colourful business card using an edited version of the same logo. I have also produced a simple business card which displays the original logo on the cover.

business Cards December 2014
As both my parents are self employed I designed both their business cards. Through my Mum distributing her business card I have recently been approached to do some freelance work which I am currently on with at the moment. These are the business cards in which I produced for my Mums cleaning business and my Dad who is an electrician.

Handmade Christmas Tree November 2014
This is a project which my mum asked me to do, as it was coming up to christmas she wanted a new christmas decoration to go with the many others she has, so she asked me to make her one, I chose to make a decorative christmas tree out of many layers of felt, a knitting needle and a plant pot. I started by making a model of the tree by using neoprene sheets, this was to help understand what size squares to use to get the best layered effect in the real thing. The tree consists of 4 sheets of each size ranging from 12.5cm to 1.5cm. I hand sewed the star, and added bells and pom poms to give it the effect of baubles. Finally I filled the plant pot with modelling foam and glued the tree in place so that it was secure. 18
As a personal project I created the felt christmas tree which was completely made and decorated by myself. As I was so pleased with the outcome, when I had taken photos I decided to make christmas themed cards and wrapping paper using imagery of the hand made tree. This project was very succesful and I cant wait to make more fun things this christmas.

Nan And Her Dementia August 2013
A drawing of my Nan I produced as a symbol of remembrance. To show her illness I filled each section and detail with text, this was done to show the confusion of a sufferer of Dementia. I am very proud of the portrait I drew of my nan, this is personally one of my best pieces of work.

The Street and Dementia November 2013
The photos in this post were all taken in leeds, I layered the photos together to create an abstract view of the street. This was the first project as a first year student at Huddersfield, originally the project was to pursue the street. However as the project developed there became a clear meaning and similarity to that of Alzheimers. I combined the layered photos with text, the lady in the images is my Great Grandma, In the purple Alzheimers image I combined a youthful photo of my Great Grandma with modern images of leeds, this was to show how things change and how her memory has deteriorated as she has got older. I overlaid the text on the image to give it more understanding as this particular piece of work is related to her having Alzheimers.
22
Using the layered photos from my Street Graphics Uni project I created a very direct poster using an image of my Great Grandma who suffers with Alzheimers, I wanted the poster to express the mind of someone with Alzheimers and how each day is full of old and new confusion. The quote on the front is very direct, so when read by a viewer, it makes them question and think about it. It could also trigger that they or someone they know may have early stages of Alzheimers or Dementia.

A Conversation? November 2014
For the first project of second year I gained inspiration from an exhibition at Camp Nou which displayed headphones playing chanting. We were given the word ‘Conversation’ and told to develop a visual outcome that centres around the idea of ‘A Conversation’.
24
I chose to develop visuals which show what an emotion or expression look like visually, as with the headphone display at Camp Nou you hear the sound and then have to picture it visually. I started by taking videos of family members of different ages, expressing the different emotions. Adrenaline is my favourite as the sound for this was taken from a video of my cousin sky diving. I have created a series of photos and experimentation of soundwave visuals to represent what emotions and expressions look like, to view the full project and outcomes head over to http://issuu.com/jessicakenyon 25
A design manifesto April 2014
A personal manifesto which I wrote and designed as part of a theory brief. I experiemented with different font sizes, colours, styles and thicknesses. The larger image is the version which I chose as the final outcome. The two smaller images are experimental versions. The manifesto details life as a designer. Have a read its full of motivational pointers.
