Case Study: Parkdale


Type 5: Bayside Residential Low-rise residential predominant. Low-rise apartments sprawl across the suburb and concentrated in front of the beach. Mid-rise apartments only in inner suburbs. Small-size retail strip slightly in the middle of the suburb - across station when exist. No commercial zone across the beach. Residential zone predominant - NRZ only in inner suburbs.

Abundant natural landscaping, having residential buildings across beach all the shore. Good access to public transport. The majority of cases has access to metro train. Bus network relatively good. Cycling corridor runs along the beach. Regular small size lots. Buildings facing railways. Major roads crossing in the middle of the suburbs less often.
