Hi , I’ m Michael
...and I’m a UAH student from Middletown, Ohio
this is my story...
B
eing out-of-state, UAH was never on my radar. I planned to stay in-state, until one of the admissions counselors at UAH talked to my guidance counselor at school about all the amazing opportunities UAH has to offer. I called the UAH admissions counselor to talk more about UAH and she decided to drive all the way back to Ohio just to talk to me in person! Once I heard her talk in person about the great things UAH and Huntsville had to offer me, I figured it was worth a trip to UAH to see what I thought. I loved it! Coming to UAH it has given me an amazing out-of-state experience by letting me meet new people that I’d never encounter in Ohio. The size of UAH has also fueled my drive to become heavily involved on campus and take on leadership positions. Since my time here at UAH, I’ve been involved in Alpha Tau Omega, ACE, Orientation, Lancers, LEAP, UAH Steel Drum Band, and working as a student ambassador. I’ve lived on campus every year because of the convenience and fact that anything I might need is right outside my door. I’ve always described UAH as a school with big-school resources, but a small-school feel. The school has all the resources and academics of a large, successful big-school, but with the size of the campus it really has a small-school touch that lets you get to know everyone you go to school with. You’re not just a face on campus, you’re who you want to be. Out of all the decisions I’ve made in my life, choosing UAH as my college has been one of the best yet, and I’ve never looked back!
