this is my story...

iving on campus has truly changed my college experience. As a freshman, I commuted from Flintville, TN - about a 45 minute drive. I would miss all the amazing campus events happening at night because I had to drive home. It was even hard for me to attend PASS sessions or study with friends since at the end of the night I still had to drive home. I also missed out on all the friendships formed by the freshmen experiencing college life together for the first time in the residence halls. I knew living on campus would be a better option so I decided to move on campus my sophomore year. I love college so much more now! I am within walking distance of all the events on campus and I am able to meet up with friends for dinner at the café or late night study sessions. I have met my best friends while living on campus! I have become more involved and invested in my college experience since living on campus. I’m involved in SGA, ACE, Housing, AOP, LEAP, Homecoming, Impact, Week of Welcome, and so much more! Living on campus has not only helped me be more involved on campus and develop as a leader, but it has allowed me to thrive academically. As a junior I still hold a 4.0! I really believe that I wouldn’t love college or UAH so much if it wasn’t for my experience living on campus!

Living on campus is a major component of the college experience. We offer several great communities for first year students including Engineering, LEAP, Honors, Health Professions, Health & Wellness, and General Interest. We also offer a 6 Week Trial Period for students in the 30 mile radius of campus where students can live on for 6 weeks at a prorated cost without having signed a full year contract. After 6 weeks the student can opt to stay living on or leave free of contract.
