• Jesuit Dallas dropped a 38-10 decision to Lake Highlands on Thursday at Wildcat-Ram Stadium. Senior Charlie Peters crossed the 1,000 yard total for the season and the 4,000 yard mark for his career, completing 17 passes for 221 yards and a touchdown.
• Senior Henry Bourret broke off a 61 yard touchdown reception, securing his third touchdown of the year and his first touchdown reception of the season.
• Jesuit returns to Ranger Stadium on Friday for the first time since Sept. 27, when the Rangers earned a 49-20 win over Irving. The Rangers are 1-1 at home this season, dropping the season opener against Hebron before earning the win over the Tigers.
• The Rangers will play at home in three of their final four games of the season, including back-to-back games to end the regular season against Berkner (Nov. 1) and Nimitz (Nov. 8).
• The Cardinals fell to 0-3 in District 7-6A with a 32-6 setback to Berkner on Oct. 11. Through three games of district competition, MacArthur has been outscored 87-16 and has not scored an offensive touchdown since Wyatt Davis notched a three-yard touchdown run against Nimitz on Sept. 27.
5
• Contrary to the Jesuit Dallas schedule, MacArthur faces an uphill battle as Friday’s game is the first of three road games over the final four games of the season, although one of the “road” games is against Irving at the Irving ISD shared stadium. MacArthur will host Pearce (Oct. 25), battle Irving (Nov. 1) and close the regular season against Richardson (Nov. 8).
Jesuit’s special teams unit has been aggressive throughout the season, as opposing kickers have only recorded five touchbacks alongside four kicks out of bounds. Out of the team’s 40 faced kickoffs, Jesuit has returned 28, including recording a kick return of 50 yards or more in three of their six games.
Friday marks the beginning of the fourth week of District 7-6A play. This season, Jesuit competes alongside the three members of Irving ISD (Irving, MacArthur, Nimitz) and the four members of Richardson ISD (Berkner, J.J. Pearce, Lake Highlands, Richardson).

THE LAST TIME THEY MET...
The Rangers took a 14-0 lead halfway through the first quarter, and maintained momentum against MacArthur, shaking off a quick turnaround to complete a season sweep of Irving ISD with a 34-17 win over the Cardinals on Oct. 26, 2023 at Joy and Ralph Ellis Stadium.
Jesuit improved to 6-3 on the year behind a team effort that collected 337 total yards of offense, scoring two touchdowns through the air along with a pair of touchdowns on the ground. Juniors Jaeger Krauss and Jack Yeskie each finished the contest with 79 receiving yards, as Krauss added a touchdown alongside senior Quentin Williams. Juniors Henry Bourret and Zane Williams each scored touchdowns on the ground, with Williams finishing the contest with a team-high 60 yards, while Bourret carried the ball a team-leading 11 times. Junior Charlie Peters completed 19-of-27 passes for two touchdowns.
Seniors Entonyo Jones, Jr., Tristen Bird and Grayson Wombacher tied for the team lead with six tackles apiece, while junior Julien Bird and sophomore Gabriel James each recorded five tackles. Wombacher led the team with 1.5 tackles for loss as Jesuit racked up six total tackles for loss. Senior Fredrick Lucky broke up five MacArthur passes, while senior Connor Raney tacked on a pair of pass breakups for the Blue and Gold. Junior Noah McGough wrapped the scoring for the Rangers, converting field goal attempts from 32 and 34 yards while adding five touchbacks on five kickoffs.
• MacArthur lost to Berkner on Friday, 32-6 at Joy and Ralph Ellis Stadium. The Cardinals’ defense provided an early spark as Rolando King intercepted a tipped pass 21 yards for a defensive touchdown, but Berkner responded with 25 unanswered points to wrap up the contest. Quarterback Brock Casas-Willis completed six passes for 60 yards and threw an interception while Corde Ray was the team’s leading rusher with nine carries for 28 yards. Berkner peppered the Cardinals for 303 total passing yards as Rams wide receivers Triston Jones and Demarcus Calhoun finished the contest with 141 and 102 receiving yards, respectively.
• This season, the Cardinals returned five starters on offense and five on defense as head coach Beck Nitcholas aims to send MacArthur back to the playoffs for the first time since 2018. Last season, the Cardinals finished the year 2-8, and have not secured a winning season since a 7-5 record in 2015.
• Wide receiver Banner Nitcholas has emerged as a key sparkplug for the Cardinals’ offense during his junior season. Last year, the wide receiver caught five touchdowns and finished the year with 375 yards, and has amassed 241 yards through three games this season. Tight end Conner Martin is a large target for quarterback Brock Casas-Willis, measuring in at 6’4’’ and 250 pounds, and runningback Corde Ray returned from injury this season and has racked up 145 yards on the ground.
• J.J. Pearce exploded for a 63-27 win over Irving on Thursday, opening up a 49-13 lead at halftime. Pearce quarterback Presley Harper completed 15-of-18 passes for 222 yards and three touchdowns, and the rushing attack rumbled for 234 yards, sparked by five rushes for 119 yards and two touchdowns from Andrew Casagrande. Running back Blake Bates scored two rushing touchdowns and Evan Roseberry added one for the Mustangs. The Tigers racked up 368 yards of offense, notably out-rushing Pearce by a yard with 235 yards on the ground. Irving’s Napoleon Proctor led the way for the Tigers with 13 rushes for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
• Richardson held Nimitz to 124 yards of offense en route to a 33-0 win over the Vikings. The Eagles secured 19 first downs, compared to four secured by the Vikings, and were paced by Dameon Crowe, who recorded 178 yards on seven receptions and a touchdown.

Coach Hickman is entering his 14th season at the helm for the Rangers, and his 20th year overall with the Jesuit Dallas football program. Born and raised in Houston, Hickman played college football at Texas Christian University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology.
Hickman coached Jesuit Dallas to its 11th UIL Bi-District Championship in 2023, earning a personal milestone along the way with his 100th career victory after the Rangers defeated Berkner, 29-7, on October 13, 2023. At the conclusion of the season, rising senior Noah McGough was named District 7-6A Special Teams Player of the Year while five members of the team, Dylan Drennan ’24, Charlie Peters ’25, Christopher Simington ’25, Quentin Williams ’24 and Grayson Wombacher ’24
Jesuit captured the 10th UIL Bi-District Championship in program history in 2022, securing its berth in the second round with a 41-14 win over Arlington. The Rangers closed out the season with a 9-3 record, marking the 11th time in 12 seasons that Hickman has led the Blue and Gold to seven or more wins. Charlie Schmidt ’23 was named the District Offensive Player of the Year, while Cade Gill ’25 secured Sophomore of the Year plaudits.
The 2021 season saw Jesuit capture the fourth district championship in program history and the third of Hickman’s tenure with an unblemished, 7-0 run through league play. Robert Fitzgerald ’22 ended the season by earning the third all-state honor of his career and the District 7-6A Most Valuable Player award, and Hickman concluded the season by being named the District Coach of the Year.
In 2019, Hickman sparked Jesuit to record one of the most dramatic turnaround seasons in Texas history as the Rangers finished the regular season with a 6-4 record before upsetting reigning state champion Longview, 27-25, in the area round. Led by Under Armour All-American EJ Smith ‘20, the Rangers saw 19 members of the team land on the all-district team, including Smith and Branson Hickman ’20, who were named unanimous first team selections.
The 2017 postseason saw the Rangers clinch the bi-district title with a 79-55 win over Lakeview Centennial on Nov. 17, setting a new program scoring record in the process. In 2015, Hickman led the Rangers to their first district title since 2004 in a season highlighted by a 24-21 win over Skyline on Oct. 2. The comeback win snapped the Raiders’ 49-game district winning streak, served as the third game of a 15-game district winning streak that lasted until 2016 and provided Jesuit with the first of back-to-back district championships.
During his time as head coach, Hickman’s teams have qualified for the postseason in 11 of 12 seasons and he has coached 13 student-athletes to 25 total all-state awards. Holding an 96-47 record during his time at Jesuit, Hickman ranks second in program coaching wins behind Jesuit Dallas Hall of Famer Gary Pasqua ’55.
At TCU, Hickman was an All-Southwest Conference Team selection at offensive tackle. He earned the Most Conscientious Award during his senior season, helping TCU clinch a share of the SWC Championship with a 7-4 record and play in the 1994 Independence Bowl. Hickman first arrived at Jesuit in 2001, coaching the offensive line while serving as the team’s strength and conditioning coach.
After a five-year stint with the Blue and Gold, Hickman became an offensive coordinator in the public school system before returning to Jesuit in 2010, becoming the ninth head coach in program history.
“The students, administration, faculty and alumni make Jesuit a very special place,” commented Hickman. “Jesuit is unique in both everything we stand for as a School and in the way it develops young men.”
Coach Hickman has been married to his wife, Amy, for 24 years. They live in McKinney with their son Branson ’20, and daughter Avery. Branson enters his red shirt senior season at the University of Oklahoma, where he was named to the Outland Trophy, Rimington Trophy and Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch Lists.
Jesuit Dallas head coach Brandon Hickman secured his 100th career coaching victory on Oct. 13, 2023 following Jesuit’s 29-7 win over Berkner. Hickman entered the season needing four victories to reach the milestone.
Hickman’s impact on the football program at Jesuit Dallas has been undeniable. The Rangers earned the program’s first area round victory in 2013 and first regional final appearance in 2019 under his tutelage, and Jesuit has qualified for the postseason in all but one of his 12 seasons on the sideline. Coach Hickman has also captured three district titles and has won eight bi-district championships.
Heading into the 2023 season, Hickman ranks as the second-winningest coach in program history, trailing only Jesuit Dallas Hall of Fame Coach Gary Pasqua.

Jesuit Dallas fell to Hebron in the 2024 season opener, 48-31, on Friday evening at Ranger Stadium. The Rangers pieced together several impressive drives, but a relentless and experience-laden Hebron squad used a 21-point first quarter to distance themselves early and kept the Rangers out of reach for a majority of the contest.
The Rangers recorded three passing touchdowns, two of which came from senior Charlie Peters while senior Jaeger Krauss started the season in resounding fashion with an 87-yard touchdown pass to senior Jack Yeskie to put the Rangers on the scoreboard. Peters would finish the contest with eight completions for 100 yards, while senior Will Naughton tacked on three completions for 35 yards.
Senior Henry Bourret carried the ball a team-high 13 times for 44 yards and a touchdown, as Yeskie led the team with 87 yards followed by three receptions for 51 yards and touchdown by Krauss. Junior Shane Parker snagged his first career varsity touchdown, wrapping up the contest with one reception for five yards. Junior Beck Berry caught two passes for 36 yards, including a stellar, 18-yard reception late in the fourth quarter.
On defense, senior Julien Bird led the team with 17 tackles. Senior Cade Gill racked up a sack, finishing the game with nine tackles.
