Football looked cool, so I played in middle school. • Funniest Football Moment: I came to freshman practice in my school uniform, Coach Wunderlick said “How are those sales numbers?” because I look like a grown man. At the banquet, he said “This kid started out as a defensive lineman, is now the starting center, and the first 50-year-old to play football for Jesuit.” • Proudest Football Moment: Beating Longview. I am thankful that I got to be on the sideline and watch the seniors. Those were the people I looked up to, seeing how happy it made them was the true highlight. • The thing I will remember about Jesuit football is: Being together. Football is very demanding, but we go through it together. We win together, lose together, laugh together, cry together, and face adversity together, but isn’t that what a team is? A group of guys working TOGETHER. • If you could play a different position, what would it be? Running back. • For me, being a Jesuit Ranger means: Being a shining example of the profile of the graduate. Taking pride in everything you do, giving maximum effort, persevering, picking your brother up when he falls and understanding that the only true failure is giving up. Rangers run towards challenge, they understand right and wrong, and have the strength to pursue the right thing. Who were you inspired to play football by and why? My dad and my grandfather. They told me of all the great memories that came from playing football. My dad especially was dedicated to helping me learn to love the game as much as he did. • Funniest Football Moment: I played nose tackle for one play my freshman year. I got destroyed by the center after I was confident I would sack the quarterback. • Proudest Football Moment: Getting a pick six against my rival school in third grade. • The thing I will remember about Jesuit football is: Traveling with the team to NRG Stadium in Houston, and being blown away by the size of the stadium and the feeling of standing on a NFL field. • If you could play a different position, what would it be? Middle linebacker. They are in charge of the defense, and everyone looks up to them and relies on them to make sure everyone knows the play • For me, being a Jesuit Ranger means: Giving 100% effort in everything you do and helping your brothers when they are struggling. • If I wrote a book about Jesuit football, the title would be: The Underdogs. • My favorite motivational expression is... “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” • If I could star in another sport, it would be: Hockey. He played at Vanderbilt and I always grew up watching the games with him on Saturdays and Sundays. Running back. The offensive line, in my opinion, has the closest bond out of all the positions. • If you could play a different position, what would it be? Fullback or tight end. He would tell me about his high school memories, which fired me up to do the same. • Funniest Football Moment: When Coach Woods danced following three straight shutouts. • Proudest Football Moment: Last year, I caught an interception in a close game on the one-yard line and ran it back for a touchdown. • The thing I will remember about Jesuit football is: The early mornings, workouts and practices paying off during the season. • If you could play a different position, what would it be? Running back. I want to break a big run off and take it 100 yards to the house. • For me, being a Jesuit Ranger means: Being a part of and continuing a long legacy that many before us have worked incredibly hard to achieve. He always played, I went to his games and wanted to be just like him. • Funniest Football Moment: When I walked on the field mid-game for my first varsity play during my sophomore year. The team was still on offense, I played defense, so Coach Hickman kindly asked me to leave the field. • Proudest Football Moment: Getting my first varsity sack against Lake Highlands. • The thing I will remember about Jesuit football is: My friends. It’s fun being around them and seeing us grow as a group. • If you could play a different position, what would it be? Running back. Who were you inspired to play football by and why? The LSU Tigers in the early 2010’s. Guys like Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu were incredible. • Funniest Football Moment: When I was in second grade, I was a running back. On my first run ever, I scored a long touchdown and did the Heisman pose in celebration. My coach was not happy. • Proudest Football Moment: Being on the Dallas FBU team in middle school. • The thing I will remember about Jesuit football is: Without my friends, practices and workouts would be grueling. But we lean on each other to make it fun. • If you could play a different position, what would it be? Tight end. One of my favorite players was Jimmy Graham, I loved the way he dominated everyone he went against. I played tight end most of my life before coming to Jesuit, and loved every second of it. • For me, being a Jesuit Ranger means: Working hard. Who were you inspired to play football by and why? Robert Griffin III. I grew up watching and attending Texas and Baylor football games. I got the chance to see RG3 play at Baylor and pull off an upset against TCU before his Heisman season. Watching him made me want to keep playing football. • Funniest Football Moment: My teammate got his pants pulled down in flag football. He kept running and scored. • Proudest Football Moment: Winning the SVAA Championship in sixth grade. • The thing I will remember about Jesuit football is: My teammates and the 2019 playoff run. • If you could play a different position, what would it be? Kicker. I was taught that football separates the boys from the men. I wanted to do everything he did growing up, and that’s how I found my love for the game. • Funniest Football Moment: After a hard practice sophomore year they put “Seven Rings” on the speaker in the JV locker room. I’m an Ariana Grande fan, everyone got around me as I started singing it. • Proudest Football Moment: The 2019 playoff run.
