2014 ANNUAL REPORT

LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR

THERE IS NO DOUBT MY LIFE HAS BEEN IMPACTED BY WORKING WITH ENLACE. — FRANCISCO “PACO” GONZALEZ, AGRONOMIST AND TECHNICAL ADVISOR

Dear World Changer: Thanks to you 2014 was another amazing year! We grew from 69 local church partners to 74. We trained and equipped over 853 church leaders and 501 community leaders on a monthly basis reaching 177 communities throughout El Salvador. It is incredible to see how God has created a network of church partners in four regions reaching out to over 150,000 of the poorest populations of the country. That means that our church partners are working with approximately 20% of Salvadorans living on less than $1.25 per capita per day! The relationships the churches are creating with governmental and non-governmental associations across the regions means that their efforts will be even more effective to mobilize resources and transform their impoverished communities in the coming years. We look forward to working with you to continue to push forward in 2015! We hope to expand to 85 local church partners, 94 projects directly serving 55,000 people and impacting almost 250,000 people or almost 40% of those in greatest need in the country. 2015 is the final year of the strategic plan, and we believe that we will get very close to reaching all of the goals we set five years ago. But we continue to need your help to end the plan well. Please pray that God will keep our staff and pastors safe and motivated. And we hope that you continue to support us through your generous giving. Thanks to you, we can see the finish line and anticipate even greater things to come! Thank you again, Ron Bueno, Executive Director 3

HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2014

WHEN GOD SEES ACTION, HE TAKES CARE OF THE REST AND PUTS ALL THE PIECES IN THE CORRECT PLACE. — PASTOR GERSON RODRIGUEZ, SENDERO DE DIOS CHURCH, EL PLATANAR

The Center for Community Transformation began in the fall and it provides an ongoing study abroad program for undergraduate and graduate students. It will also offer short term classes, forums and special topic seminars for church leaders, practitioners and scholars. The purpose of the Center is to engage the next generation of leaders to equip and partner with churches in the transformation of impoverished communities. Eight students from Vanguard University attended in the fall, and we are excited to host students from Southeastern University in the Spring. We are looking forward to additional universities to join in 2015. We also launched Agronexos to address the sales and marketing support needed for our small scale farming projects. One of the primary deterrents in motivating smallscale farmers to grow new crops is the lack of marketing and sales support. Agronexos is a new social business that we have been dreaming about for many years that addresses this problem. The business assists small-scale farmers to sell their products at better prices.

Agronexos started last year by providing a steady market and better prices for bell pepper producers. In 2015, Agronexos will explore selling tomatoes and cilantro. Project Milagro Stages one through five of a clean water project 10 years in the making were inaugurated on January 30 in the community of El Rosario. Our dear Marina, who worked tirelessly to get water into her community, now has water in her own home. The celebration was held at Marina’s home and was attended by Pastor Miguel Duran, hundreds of local residents, community leaders, officials and many members of the ENLACE staff. We are so excited to see this day come to fruition! Sajhedari Program, Nepal Our pilot program in Nepal is moving forward with great results. In December, Nepalese Church Coaches, Tina Magar and Sam Joy, celebrated one full year of working with churches in the rural region of Dang. In 2014, Tina, Sam, and two more advisors from El Salvador, trained 96 leaders and pastors from 11 churches.

PROJECTS FROM 2014

WE HAVE GROWN FROM 75 TO 100 TOMATO PLANTS. WE HAVE CULTIVATED ABOUT 1000 TOMATOES! BEFORE, WE RELIED ON OTHERS TO GIVE US LEFTOVER EGGS THAT CAME BROKEN FROM FARMS; NOW WE EAT HEALTHY EGGS. BEFORE, WE USED TO GO LOOKING UNDER BUSHES FOR THOSE LITTLE TOMATOES, BUT NOW, MY TABLE IS FULL. — CLAUDIA BEATRIZ, LA LOMA, EL SALVADOR
