Concept Hospital visits can be a scary experience for children (and adults). Channelling the spirit of playfulness and imagination, we aim to bring the doctor’s tools to life as toy-like characters. The characters provide the perfect vehicle to dispel fear, connect with children and associate a visit to the hospital with a day of fun, where doctors use their toys to work magic to make them feel better. The characters welcome children at the entrance of the hospital, direct them from floor to floor, teach them tidbits about their bodies and take them on an adventure to different locations around Trinidad and Tobago, which will be depicted in colourful painted murals.

Lopinot If you find yourself at Lopinot on a rainy night, you might be face to face with the ghost of Charles Joseph de Lopinot de la Fresilliere – a French Count who came to Trinidad in 1800 – as he roams about his estate house located in the northern village named after him. In 1806, Lopinot was granted 478 acres of land by the King of England and planted cocoa on this scenic area of agricultural land which he called La Reconnaissance. The restored estate house has been made into a small museum which displays some Amerindians artifacts. There is a recreational park and a savannah located to the north of the museum. Traditional Mas in the Queen’s Park Savannah ICarnival in Trinidad and Tobago is one of grandeur, colour, revelry, rhythm, and gaiety. Evolving over the past two centuries from an elegant, exclusive affair to a truly all-inclusive national festival, it is by far the most spectacular event on the nation’s calendar. Although a major part of the Trinidad Carnival mystique lies in its unique ability to bring people of diverse backgrounds together in harmonious circumstances, the festival was not born to such noble pursuits. Grande Riviere Grande Riviere is a rural village situated on the north coast of Trinidad. It gets its name from the large river which runs through it, meeting the sea. For bathers, this allows the opportunity to combine sea bathing with river swimming in the same location. The area has become known for its great bird watching opportunities, being home to such species as the endangered Blue-throated Piping-Guan (Pawi), Crimson-crested Woodpecker, and Swallow-tailed Kite. It is also a primary nesting ground for large numbers of Leatherback turtles.
