GANADORA DEL CONCURSO “EL ARTE DE LA NAVIDAD”

“El arte es salvación, es un legado, es una semilla que crece en cada ser que lo pueda contemplar y emocionarse”

Nuestro concurso “El Arte de la Navidad” nos hizo conocer el talento de muchos artistas a nivel mundial, tuvimos postulaciones de Ecuador, Argentina, Perú, Venezuela, España, México, Reino Unido, Colombia y muchos países más. Así conocimos a Machi Baubeau, la ganadora del concurso con su obra “María” con quien tuvimos una hermosa conversación en la que nos comentó sobre ella y su gusto por el arte.

Le preguntamos ¿De dónde nace tu amor y pasión por el arte? Y ella nos comentó “el amor y pasión por el arte empieza desde que nací -con un lápiz en vez de un pan-. Cuando era pequeña estaba hasta altas horas trabajando y cantando, no tenía dudas que lo que yo quería ser es una gran artista. Mi madre amaba el arte también y mis raíces catalanas y francesas rodeaban mi cabecita de amor y pasión por el arte. Le pedimos nos contará sobre su trayectoria artística, y nos dijo “como les conté no había duda de que mi sueño era ser artista, ingresé a la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes y luego hice mi primera muestra en Lirolay, una galería emblemática. Mis maestros fueron Miguel Dávila y Antonio Pujia. Actualmente, tengo mi propio taller llamado Arte Más.

Después de haber conocido sobre su vida y trayectoria artística, le preguntamos ¿Qué te motivó a participar en el concurso El Arte de la Navidad? Muy contenta nos respondió: “cuando lo leí, pensé que lindo tema. Nunca vi una convocatoria tan bella, ademas acababa de leer el libro de la vida de José, así salió esa obra que la amé. Les felicito por la convocatoria”.

Le pedimos que nos hable de su obra participante, la técnica que utilizó y el significado de la misma.

Nos dijo “la obra es pequeña pues yo soy una petisa agrandada y me sorprendí de su tamaño; y salió así de la nada, simple con su burrito y con su hijo amado. Tiene pigmentos, texturas y fue trabajada con espátula, pincel y hojas de oro. Yo quería transmitir la sensillez y el amor de la familia, porque la Navidad es eso y María es lo más puro, fuerte y tenaz; es la imágen de la inteligencia en silencio y la abnegación, acompañada de un gran hombre”.

Finalmente, le pedimos compartiera un mensaje con los artistas y nos dijo “Mi mensaje es que sigamos siendo lo que somos y luchar por lo que amamos, el arte es salvación, cura, ayuda, acompaña y nos hace fuertes. Sigamos fieles a nosotros mismos, el camino es largo pero vale la pena. Las horas dadas para el arte siempre serán positivas, nos hacen ver lo que vale la pena, además el arte abre fronteras y esta oportunidad es una muestra, yo transmitiendo todo esto acá y allá, las distancias no existen cuando se toma una hoja, un lápiz o carboncillo, cuando empastas tu pincel con color.

WINNER OF THE CHRISTMAS ART CONTEST

“Art is salvation, it is a legacy, it is a seedthat grows in every being who can contemplate it and be moved by it”

Our “Christmas Art” contest led us to learn about the talent of many artists worldwide, we had applicants from Ecuador, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Spain, Mexico, United Kingdom, Colombia and many other countries. That is how we met Machi Baubeau, the winner of the contest with her work “María” with whom we had a beautiful conversation in which she told us about her and her interest in art.

We asked her, “Where does your love and passion for art come from?” And her answer was, “my love and passion for art started since I was born with a pencil instead of bread. When I was little I used to work and sing until late hours, I had no doubts that what I wanted to be is a great artist. My mother loved art too and my Catalan and French roots surrounded my little head with love and passion for art.” We asked her to tell us about her artistic career, and she said, “as I told you there was no doubt that my dream was to be an artist, I entered the National School of Fine Arts and then I did my first show at Lirolay, an emblematic gallery. My teachers were Miguel Dávila and Antonio Pujia. Currently, I have my own workshop called Arte Más.

Upon learning about her life and artistic career, we asked her, “What motivated you to participate in the Christmas Art contest?” She was very happy to say: “when I read about it, I thought it was a nice theme. I never saw such a beautiful call, I had also just read the book of Joseph’s life, that’s how that work that I loved arose. I congratulate you for the call.”

We ask her to tell us about her participating work, the technique she used, and its meaning.

She told us, “the work is small because I am an enlarged petite and I was surprised by its size; and it came out of nowhere, simple with his donkey and his beloved son. It has pigments, textures and was worked with a palette knife, brush and gold leaves. I wanted to convey the sensitivity and love of the family, because Christmas is that and Maria is the purest, strongest and most tenacious figure; she is the image of intelligence in silence and self-denial, accompanied by a great man.”

Finally, we asked her to share a message with the artists and she said, “my message is that we continue to be who we are and fight for what we love, art is salvation, it heals, helps, accompanies and makes us strong. Let’s stay true to ourselves, the road is long but it’s worth it. The hours devoted to art will always be positive, they make us see what is worthwhile, in addition, art opens borders and this opportunity is a clear example of it, I am conveying all this here and there, distances do not exist when you take a sheet of paper, a pencil or charcoal, when you fill your brush with color.
