Preface

Mayor of Taipei and the Taipei City government for their recognition and commitment to design. It has been my pleasure to judge the Taipei Industrial Design Award for the past two years. I have enjoyed this experience immensely, and, in particular, I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to witness first-hand the growing enthusiasm for design among Taipei’s youngest citizens.

評語 Apple has shown us the possibilities of access to information everywhere and anywhere. Penetration envisions a future where transparent screens can display information that make a Taipei City bus-ride more informative and entertaining. One can easily imagine the practical and exploratory benefits of such a design. Convenience for tourists visiting Taipei for the first time. Entertainment for those on an hour commute to work. The ideas seem limitless.

作品介紹「窗透。穿透」是大眾運輸工具車窗上的城市體驗介面，也是實景導覽系統，它是特別為了在搭乘過程提供無與倫比的城市行銷與美學體驗所設計，在全球城市的激烈競爭當中，藉以展現臺北市獨有的都市性格。結合透明觸控 OLED、擴增實境與深度的城市生活資訊，包括熱門景點、特色餐飲、文化設施、自然風貌等等，如同尋寶冒險般，沿途上原本被隱藏的影像將

“Penetration” is a city-experience interface and a tour guide system on public transit window and is especially designed for marvelous city marketing experience. It consists of transparent touchable OLED, live or in-depth urban information such as scenic spots, catering information, cultural facilities, and natural surroundings.

Taking care of our environment is the responsibility of every citizen and each year thousands of Taipei citizens help clean the beaches surrounding our city. But tools for cleaning urban parks are not practical for cleaning sandy beaches, as the designers of 沙手 experienced first hand. From their hands-on experience, they dreamt up a tool more suited to the task. Taipei beaches, and the citizens that help clean them, will benefit from a simple, yet insightful design.

Today a majority of design dollars are directed towards winning over young consumers with fancy design. An aging global population, however, can equally benefit from design and innovation. 充氣浴缸 is the result of a months of intensive observation, technical research, and a passion for helping the elderly live more independent lives. This innovative design helps the elderly maintain independence, reduces the chance of injury, and contributes to improved quality of life through a insightful design that takes its cue from daily routine.

為了快速清潔沙灘許多細碎的垃圾又

子和濾網的原理，讓清潔人員可以透

能保護清潔人員的安全，我們結合鏟過剷除的過程中，快速取得沙灘中許多細碎的垃圾，且再配合爪子結構聚集周遭的垃圾到定點，再做一次過濾沙子的動作，增加清潔過程的效率。

Combining of shovel and filter functions, we have redesigned a shovel with a net structure added to it, so that cleaners can filter sand and collect garbage at the same time. It is not only safer to cleaners, but also easier to clean garbage on the beach.

蘇品嘉 Pin-Chia Su

「充氣浴缸」使用可充氣材質的設計，讓潛藏危險性的浴室空間，更加安全並且讓使用情境能更加方便。利用管線配置與按摩浴缸原本的馬達共用，進行充氣與洩氣。洩氣後，減少了浴缸與地面的段差，使用者即可輕易的跨越浴缸。除此之外，充氣浴缸也提供一種更加節省空間的選擇，除了泡澡外，平時也可以做為淋浴空間與洗澡椅的功用，妥善利用空間，同時保持浴室地面乾燥。

It can be dangerous and inconvenient to get out of a bathtub, especially for those who are elderly or disabled. Because a bathtub has high walls and the floor around it is often wet, it is easy for people to slip or fall while getting out. This design concept consists of making part of the bathtub inflatable. An air pump inside the bathtub inflates the flexible vinyl portion of the tub.

這次參加臺北工業設計競賽是一個美好的經驗。為了讓產品更完整，我們考量

一開始單純希望可以改善不方便的使用環境，提供使用者更高的安全性，從這裡開始發想，一步一步的完成最後的概念設計。非常開

心從初賽入圍一路到決選的報告最後得到銅獎，完全沒有預期到會得到那麼好的成績。在這樣的過程中，評審的青睞給了我很大的鼓

「分散」是以和平為概念，在抗議場合

合，抗議群眾的聚集，會使暴力衝突發

保護警方與抗議群眾的設計。在抗議場生的可能性與危險性提高。警察透過此設計，可穿越的蜂窩狀結構，安全分散聚集的抗議群眾，達到降低抗議群眾集體衝撞的力量；避免較少數警察面對較多數抗議群眾的危險情況；並有效瓦解抗議群眾凝聚的憤怒情緒。

“DISPERSE” is a design for the projection of both the police and protesters during occasions such as demonstration. When protesters gather the probability of violence and peril increases. Through this ingenious design, the police is able to resort to honeycomb paths safely disperse protesters and effectively avoid a confrontation.

“Between Rebate” is a public bicycle renting mechanism which achieves the goal of a carbon emission reduction and energy conservation. City residents can rent a bicycle with payment by an Easy Card. A recorder on the bicycle will record how much kinetic energy is spent by the bicycle user and the mechanism will automatically turn the spent kinetic energy into stored electricity.

行動不便的行人和老人需要比正常人多一點時間來跨越行人斑馬線，此行動感應器是專門讓行動不便者配戴在身上或是與自身鑰匙圈結合，當使用者準備穿越馬路時，利用 RFID 技術運用射頻共振，產生訊息至行人交通號誌，進而增加行人穿越馬路的時間，讓行動不便的使用者有足夠時間安全穿越。

The handicapped and the elderly would need more time walking on zebra crossing. This sensor device could be linked with a key chain. Through the resonance of RFID frequencies, it sends a message to the pedestrian traffic signal in order to allow for more pedestrian crossing time.

「TAPE EASY, TAKE EASY」的打孔裁剪圖樣，使封箱膠帶有起頭突起，方便撕取，沿著膠帶本身直條壓紋撕去後，可將膠帶一分為二，沿著膠帶橫紋可將剩餘兩邊膠帶輕鬆撕去。設計讓拆包裹的流程方便，即使手邊無工具也可輕鬆拆。

“TAPE EASY, TAKE EASY” can help users easily tear off box packing tapes by hand. It has a special cutting pattern helping user tear off the tape along straight intaglio lines and this will split the tape into two for easier unpacking operation. This process doesn’t need any cutting tools.

“Green Clock” is a clock with an eco-friendly concept. The product can fully utilize residual power in the battery. 為長途旅行者或是時常出門在外的人們，打造一個更為便利的清洗用具。洗衣球的材質以矽膠製成，它可以耐腐蝕，並且富有彈性方便搓洗，使用時不會將肥皂水漏出，減少在浴室滑倒的機率，而旅途中還可以將骯髒的衣物裝進洗衣球裡。

The designer of the “Washing Ball” intends to create a convenient cleaning utensil especially for frequent travellers. The ball is made of silicone, which is corrosion-resistant. It is elastic and thus good for clothes washing. Travellers can also put their dirty laundry into the wall for temporary convenient storage.

「大眾交通工具殺菌把手」是一個捷運殺菌吊環，利用紫外線光及時性進行把手殺菌。在人來人往的捷運上，塑膠吊環經過一隻又一隻的手碰觸過後，成了細菌滋生和藏匿的溫床。「大眾交通工具殺菌把手」將 LED 紫外線燈安裝於下方兩側，電力來自人們拉吊環時的離心力，當放開吊環，將會啟動兩側紫外線燈進行手把處殺菌，讓下一個使用者

“Antiseptic Handle” is placed in MRT. Self– disinfection is implemented with the application of LED ultraviolet rays. When plastic hanging straps are touched by the hands of many MRT passengers, they become a hotbed for bacteria. “Antiseptic Handle” uses LED ultraviolet rays to disinfect hanging straps thus ensuring them to be free of bacteria.

This innovative design breaks the traditional mold of gender-specific toilet in order to bridge the gender divide. To enhance users’ sense of personalization, this creative product can be easily transformed to meet the needs of both male and female sexual preferences. It can also function either as a toilet or a urinal.

「空氣冷凝取水杯」是一款空氣冷凝飲水機。它通過手搖發電使空氣降溫，從而使空氣中的水分冷凝液化成水，供給飲用。「空氣冷凝取水杯」通過物理變化，將其液化成水，其間不產生任何化學變化和污染，綠色環保，小巧的身形猶如一個隨身水杯，能隨時隨地補充乾淨的飲用水。

“Air-Water” obtains drinkable water from transforming moisture that is abundantly in the air. With non-exhausting use of air, water can be obtained to help desperate people through tough times. Using the most environmentally friendly resource, “AirWater” transforms air into water without damage the natural environment.

「搖擺點滴」將不倒翁原理運用在輪軸上，改變傳統點滴底部支架占地面積大和絆腳的問題，並且由於點滴量足夠時會自然傾斜，不夠時自然直立，能提醒使用者點滴液體量使用情形。

“Swaying Drip Stand” applies the principle of tumbler on its axle in order to solve the traditional drip stand with a large bottom part which always causes people to stumble. Furthermore, “Swaying Drip Stand” functions as a reminder to users. It would tilt or erect according to the amount of drip liquid filled.

當服藥時間一到，「藥健康」會利用聲、光效果來提醒使用者該補充水分、服藥，以免錯過黃金的養份補給時間，維持身體健康的運作。在設計上以簡易、人性化的操作方式，讓使用者將藥物轉入預備槽中，即可直接飲用及服藥，開水不足時只需打開杯口補充水分，期待下階段營養補給

「綠能園」是由動能與太陽能整合的獨立發電系統。可將能源回饋給行人，形成新的社區生活方式。鞦韆把搖動過程中產生的動能轉化為電能，儲存在電池中，再通過供電的公共插座釋放電能。讓大人到公園時，不只可在旁陪伴小孩，也可為自己的手機、 MP3 甚至是筆電等移動設備充電。太陽能涼亭則可為夜間帶來明亮的光源。

“Green energy” is an independent powergenerating system which integrates kinetic and solar energy. Through this design, “Green energy” could bring a new lifestyle to the community. For example, the system can transform the kinetic energy into electricity and store it in the batteries, when children play on the swing, the electricity thus stored can be used to recharge such devices as cell phones, MP3 and notebook through a socket.

作品介紹「:D Helper」使用者可將長柄傘握把取下攜帶，僅將傘身置於室外，使傘具失去使用功能，防止誤取或失竊；而傘把則化身為購物提物器，方便使用者提取多項購物提袋，讓手掌不會被提袋摩擦受傷。

This is a design of an anti-theft shopping umbrella. When the umbrella is left unattended, the user can unscrew the handle from the umbrella body to prevent its theft by making it non-functional. The umbrella handle also serves as a convenient shopping handle to easily carry bags while adding extra hand comfort.

Designer “Tap Tape” is a tape dispenser. Breaking away from tradition with a special cutting edge that rises by 20 degrees. When using tape, people will have extra tapes, which are often discarded. To promote environmental protection, people should keep these tapes and reuse it. This is why a groove is designed at the side of the dispenser in which fingers can be inserted to stick extra tapes.

作品介紹「開闔」為橡膠軟性材質的垃圾桶，可將垃圾桶直接往左右翻開，能夠輕易地將整包垃圾取出來。運用橡膠材質本身的彈性，當垃圾滿出來需要做擠壓動作時，也可以很輕易的操作，達到擠壓的效果，在造型的特徵上也讓我們能輕易看出垃圾桶的使用量。

“Easy Take” is a trashcan made of soft rubber material. It can be easily opened from the left or the right and take out the whole garbage bag out. With an elastic material, the trashcan can be suppressed to make room for more filling space of garbage if required. Its design allows users to easily inspect the level of garbage content.

臺北工業設計獎一直以來都是國內重量級的設計競賽代表，因此很榮幸能夠得到評

很高興能參與臺北工業設計獎這項比賽，並得到不錯的成績。原本只是因為媽媽的

審的青睞以及受到肯定，也感謝臺北市政府和台灣創意設計中心以及各相關單位對

一句小抱怨，便想為她設計出一個解決垃圾問題的盆栽，而在經過一段時間和指導

這次比賽資源的投入與協助，加上這屆配合 2011 臺北世界設計大展的舉辦使得本

“Color Hook” is a new design especially used for hanging paintings. The length of the line on a hook is marked with different color. The hook can be stored much like a measuring tape. No extra length of the line will show to destroy the beautiful display of paintings. The pressing button is placed in the center for easier adjustment of line length as well as convenience in use.

我們身處一個被設計淹沒的世界，「物」以及「人」的關係不斷的被重新定義，因

很開心這次比賽能獲得評審們的肯定，團隊的辛苦沒有白費。在頒獎典禮上看到許

作品介紹「無杖礙」手杖結合「視覺殘像式跑馬燈」可以大幅減小 LED 面板的體積，讓公車司機可以注意到有盲友需要搭車。手杖內建 RFID 晶片，配合台北市的有聲號誌連動。當盲人接近路口時，有聲號誌就會自動啟動，不需要再尋找按鈕。

Blind people often encounter problems when crossing roads and taking buses. Because they could not see the bus number, they could only every bus and ask the driver, or ask passers-by to help before they could get on the right bus. While crossing a road, they often discover that the start button for audio signals for the blind is difficult to find.

作品介紹

「3C Disinfector」是一款結合殺菌與自動感應沖水的新型馬桶。當我們踩下方踏板時，將驅動微電腦感應而將馬桶蓋板闔閉並啟動內藏殺菌裝置，且於如廁後進行感應沖水，如此一來可有效確保坐墊清潔，更能取代衛生紙擦拭的使用而達到友善環境。

“3C Disinfector” is a new toilet which integrates disinfection and automatic sensor flushing. When the pedal was stepped on, it would trigger computerized sensor to close the toilet cover and start the disinfection process. Automatic flushing will be implemented after using the toilet. This design could ensure the neatness of the cushion and a clean environment, without the use of toilet paper.

回歸自然與生活本質，這是連接衣架與衣架的橋樑。這是人類原始習慣的復元：從衣櫃拿出衣服，把衣架插入底座形成落地衣架；不僅省時省力而且可以同時設定衣架的位置。外出返室時可以隨手將衣物掛在「Hanger Tree」上，待洗淨整理過後再掛回衣櫃中。

A return to nature and the essence of living is hanger. Take your clothes out of the closet, and stick the hanger post on the base to form a standing hanger. This is easy to do and the hanger position can be determined in the same step. When you return home, just drop your clothes on the hanger tree, and return them to the closet only after you have a chance to clean and iron them.

作品介紹

「未完待續」是一個為鉛筆而設計，簡便的環保文具。它是削鉛筆機，是保護筆尖的筆蓋，更是連接兩支短鉛筆的連接器。在消耗與延續之間，再給我們和我們的鉛筆一次機會，未完待續。

“To be continued” is pencil sharpener with simplistic, convenient and green design. It also serves as a cap to protect the nib of the pencil and a connector to connect two short stubby pencils. After consumption, pencils become shorter. This phenomenon reminds us of consumption and continuity.

“City Across” is a new type of backpacked bodybuilding scooter. It breaks the limit of traditional transport and makes user easier to visit different cities. The brand new ingenious design includes case backpack combined with scooter and movement by way of a stepper.

The table-chair set is suitable for either casual or conference purpose. The chairs can be arranged, like a meeting table for faceto-face communication. 作品介紹

「環 Tray」使用圓環相連讓主食的湯碗或杯子可以直接陷入環的中空部分，讓食物在盤中可以更穩固的運送。整體剖面以正梯形呈現，易堆疊，也避免餐盤放置桌面上時，餐點先碰置桌面造成翻倒的情形。

“Annular Tray” is formed by rings which are constructed in different dimensions. Then bowl and tumbler could strictly stick in hollow rings. On the other hand, the trapezoidal side-viewing section is designed for easier stacking of trays. It also prevents food to spill.

“Hou series” is a combination of traditional materials and the modern lifestyle. The designers hope to bring they traditional texture into modern design, in order to remind may people that if they pay more attention to the surroundings, good things may just be around the corner.
