Santa Barbara The Arlington Theater is a historical landmark for Santa Barbara. Several events happen there every year. It was built in 1931 after the Arlington Hotel was destroyed in the 1925 earthquake. Thirteen people died in that earthquake. One of those, Julia Humbert, was a guest in the hotel when it was destroyed. She is now said to be one of the theater’s guests that has a life-time membership. Her spirt is welcome at any time. During any of the events that occur at the Arlington Theater, you never know which one, Julia may decide to attend. At one event, she was seen sitting in her favorite seat in the balcony – MA-1.
