Whether people grew up here or immigrated, there's a work ethic of getting things done. The past two years have been tough for businesses, and people have adapted. This is evidenced by some new businesses we are highlighting - like Wheel Wranglers (guess what they do) and Sparks and Rec LLC. It's also evident in transformed businesses, like Four Pines Physical Therapy and New Thought Digital Media. There are others, too, who have merged with other businesses to get a leg up (Mountain Standard Realty) and some who have taken over a business from someone else. Shervin's and Oden Watches & Jewelry come to mind, with new owners taking over long-established businesses,

therapy, Burnham and Lex specialize in pelvic health. Among their other professional expertise, Burnham focuses on pelvic rehab for all genders and ages and Lex centers on pregnancy, postpartum and breastfeeding conditions. The day and time of the calls will be announced soon and will be free to anyone who wants to participate. All Body will have a QR-code online for folks to access the Zoom call every week. “To be able to have the opportunity to ask questions and to connect with others who are pregnant and postpartum is so important,” said Burnham. “Particularly, as we are so focused on the baby and baby care after birth, we tend to forget that we still need to be caring for ourselves.” The physical therapy group on Maple Way has been serving Jackson Hole and the greater regional community since it was founded by Dr. Andi Lewis in 2007. The team of five doctors including Lewis, Burnham and Lex are joined by Anna Yanchek and Emily Smith. The group offers a variety of physical therapy services that include aquatic therapy, functional dry needling, orthopedic therapy and, of course, pelvic therapy.

The Bank of Jackson Hole (BOJH) remains a powerful business and community leader as evidenced time and again through tangible support of the growing and dynamic community of Jackson Hole. Ranked the second largest bank in terms of deposits in Teton County, BOJH has evolved into a sophisticated institution. While bank leaders navigated a global pandemic serving over $145 million through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), the local bank recently brokered a strategic merger that has placed the bank in the best possible position to realize more vigorous and complex business opportunities in the heart of the Tetons. “We are excited about this new chapter for Bank of Jackson Hole,” said BOJH CEO Pete Lawton of the merger with National Bank Holdings Corporation in April. “NBH Bank offers growth opportunities for our institution and will strengthen our ability to support the communities we serve. Our leadership is unchanging and Dawn Pruett and I are excited to lead our institution through its next chapter”

And while the global pandemic forced many into uncharted waters, BOJH remained the safe harbor in a time of uncertainly, helping people with PPP loans every step of the way. Almost every department in the bank was involved in the PPP process. “It was truly a team effort, all done to help our community,” said Dawn Pruett, BOJH President. The Bank of Jackson Hole remains committed to reinvesting in the community as bank employees spend 200 hours in donated time to all facets of the nonprofit community. Bank leadership has invested in nearly 100 nonprofits and organizations in 2021. And the community continues to recognize these efforts on all fronts, voting the bank “Best Bank in Jackson Hole for the eight years running. The bank was also recognized by Newsweek as the Best Small Bank in the State of Wyoming. “We are dedicated to offering exceptional experiences along with providing a wide range of secure banking tools and services to meet all the financial needs of our clients,” Pruett said.

All Body Therapy Inc. has been working to heal, educate and encourage all of us to simply, and sometimes very profoundly, take care of ourselves. One particular area of care that is often overlooked is that of pelvic health care and pelvic floor therapy, particularly for those who are anticipating giving birth and for those who are postpartum. This July, All Body physical therapists Cossette Burnham and Nina Lex will launch a weekly call-in via Zoom that will be open to any and all members of the community. With this Zoom call, Burnham and Lex hope to introduce other community experts while creating a supportive environment where people can listen, consider and ask questions. The hope with this kind of platform is to also accommodate busy schedules. “We noticed a theme around the pandemic with our pregnant and postpartum clients,” said Lex, noting that many felt particularly isolated during this period of their lives. “And a lot of people don’t know what pelvic health is and particularly during this period of their lives, they are getting a lot of fear-based knowledge from the internet.” Both having earned doctorates in physical

Physical therapy is not just for sports medicine and recovery from injuries. For Norene Christensen, owner of Four Pines Physical Therapy, it means providing support that addresses optimal health practices from all angles. “A knee injury may not just be the knee,” she said. Because of that, the clinic has specialists that can look at the patient holistically, offering rehabilitation and support for the entire body structure and system. To meet these needs, Four Pines recently doubled its size after moving into a new space next to Whole Foods. Now with seven physical therapists, three private patient rooms, a private gym and much larger fitness space, Four Pines treats patients ages 8 to 101. The business has also expanded to Pinedale and Alpine. The Alpine clinic can see pediatric patients, with Jackson appointments available on request. Plus, the clinic specializes in sub-specialities that meet the needs of the community. That includes rehab and support for geriatric and Parkinson’s patients, those with a fall risk, dizziness or chronic pain. It includes people with generalized pain like headaches, as well as more typical pre-

and post-surgical physical therapy and sports rehab. Four Pines also has been providing treatments for pelvic floor and abdominal pain issues for men, women and children for 25 years and offers this program in Jackson, Alpine and Pinedale. Four Pines’ approach includes a variety of assessments, Sportsmetrics™, Trigger Point Dry Needling, Therapeutic Low Level Laser Therapy, custom orthotics and knee braces, manual therapy, athlete injury prevention, Biofeedback and even blood flow restriction. That range of services, many used in conjunction, helps keep the body in motion. “As soon as you stop moving, things hurt,” Christensen said. “And then you stop doing things because it hurts more. It's just a nasty cycle.” Four Pines works with insurance providers and physicians to help a patient understand, treat and manage the body’s condition over the long term. “We look at the whole lifestyle of a patient. What is their home like? What is their work life? What is physically expected from them in a day? And then how does this pain affect them or their ability to complete their goals?” Christensen said.

Many know Dr. Krista Novak from her long tenure with Dr. Heidi Jost and Teton Orthopaedics—but did you know that Dr. Krista might just be your oneway ticket to helping you achieve your best self? In 2020, Dr. Krista opened Grand Aesthetics with the goal of helping her clients enhance their existing beauty. With over 20 years of advanced nursing experience, Dr. Krista brings the best possible client experience to Botox, JUVÉDERM Fillers, cooling laser treatments, microneedling— and soon to arrive, nutritional therapy. Laser treatments include tattoo. IPL, Clear lift and hair removal. “I don’t want people to be intimidated by some of the negativity surrounding aesthetics,” said Dr. Krista. “Comparative beauty is real and inner beauty can match outer beauty with the right aesthetic treatments.” Grand Aesthetics empowers clients to feel better about themselves, their aging process, and the anxiety that can come from treatable surface conditions. “Many people hold stress in different ways, but in particular their forehead and so Botox is a great example of a treatment that can make muscles

stop moving, which stops skin from wrinkling, but also can help folks who hold tension in these areas have less headache and pain,” she said. Dr. Krista’s inspiration for opening the new practice came from her own life changes — becoming a mom and wanting more control of how her day-to-day schedule worked. “I went to part time at Teton Orthopaedics and was thinking about what I could do to help people be their best versions of themselves,” she said. “I started thinking about aesthetics. A year later, I realized I could do this full time and that there was a real need for a med-spa in Jackson.” Grand Aesthetics’ med-spa is a boutique space that puts client comfort before everything else. “It’s so important to listen to client needs and their goals in a private space where they feel good. I can’t fix everything, but I like to say, I can help you stay the age you start.” The menu of treatments is appropriate for both men and women. Dr. Krista has vetted out the best products in the industry, with training and a network of science ensuring the most current research is available at Grand Aesthetics.

The entire airport staff came together to show appreciation for the Jackson community

The Jackson Hole Airport and its runway are often the first things to greet travelers arriving in Jackson or residents returning home from trips. And now, after its reopening on June 28, the airport is one of the most sustainable and environmentally respectful in the country, designed and engineered to reflect the values of the area and recognize its special place located within Grand Teton National Park, said Jim Elwood, executive director of the Jackson Hole Airport. “The real cool part beyond just the new infrastructure is how it was put together,” he said. “It is the most environmentally responsible project in the United States.” The airport closed this spring and early summer to redo the runway. The materials from the old runway were pulled out, re-compacted, and used as part of the creation of the new runway. In fact, 90% of the old runway was reused in creating the new runway — with the rock removed, crushed and stockpiled on-site. That effort saved more than 1,600 truck trips to haul materials to the site and 185,000 gallons of diesel fuel, Elwood said. While the runway is the biggest change at

the airport, people will also find a new security screening checkpoint with higher ceilings that will provide a more welcoming feeling moving through security. There are also efforts underway to redo the restaurant section of the airport to make it more accessible, which will be completed later this year. Renovations at the airport also included designing drain systems to collect water off the runway and other hard surfaces, such as the apron where planes park. The water is then filtered, with heavy metals pulled out before releasing it, Elwood said. All part of the airports sustainability efforts. “I’m really proud of the direction the airport is taking,” Elwood said. “We are focused on being in a national park and of the values the community has to the environment to act as good stewards. It is above and beyond what airports do, and above and beyond any regulatory responsibility. The airport Board felt strongly it’s in a very special place within the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and there was an expectation we needed to set the bar very high and to do all that we can reasonably do to lower the environmental footprint on the area and in this very special place.”

Anyone who lives or works in Jackson knows that the town is unique compared with other communities of the same size due to its geographical isolation and tourism-based economy. The community’s needs are different, and to meet those needs, the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce provides services tailored to Jackson. While many chambers focus on economic development, in its 75th year of operation the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce is focused on affordable housing, transportation and mental health services, said Anna Olson, chamber president and CEO. “We are not housing experts, we don’t provide transportation or mental health services, but we are a framework and network to raise conversations about these issues to the forefront,” she said. They are all issues that impact the valley’s workforce, businesses and overall economy. In terms of mental health, it’s something that the chamber knows needs attention in the valley and it’s working collaboratively with others on prevention and delivery of services as it impacts workplace health and well-being for everyone, Olson said. Regarding affordable housing, the chamber has advocated for a real estate transfer tax and

facilitated efforts to bring members of the private and public sector together to figure out ways to fund affordable housing, which directly impacts the community’s workforce. The chamber has also focused on identifying challenges and solutions of having a commuting workforce in Jackson, she said. The chamber’s goal is to ensure that Jackson retains its quality of life and also honors and preserves its assets and heritage, Olson said. That’s why the chamber hones in on key issues that impact its members. It’s part of the organization’s four pillars that guide its strategic plan: Advance community excellence; deliver value to members; serve as the voice of economic well-being; and develop a sustainable economy. In addition to focusing on large-scale issues in the community, the chamber also provides networking events. The popular chamber mixers have returned and are hosted by chamber member businesses on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. “It’s one of the biggest values that we offer,” Olson said. For a full schedule of chamber mixers and events, visit its website at jacksonholechamber.com.

Vicky O’Donoghue, known to all as Ms. Vicky, has logged a lot of miles on the roads wrapping around the Jackson Hole valley. For more than 20 years, she has mapped out the success of the Jackson Hole Driving Academy through her gentle and patient ability to teach everyone and anyone looking to navigate the Tetons with a steering wheel. “I love people,” Ms. Vicky said. “And I’m very blessed I get so many personalities in the car. I love my students just as they are. I’ve taught a lot of different people from across the globe, some who are on their visas, others who are moving here from urban areas and high school students. I just had a 91-year-old student who wanted to learn to drive. I just love what I do.” Ms. Vicky is a professional educator who, after experiencing the personal loss of her brother in a car accident, founded the Jackson Hole Driving Academy. When you are in her driver's seat, Ms. Vicky insists that her drivers are soft on the gas, patient in traffic and come with a good sense of humor. “It’s not just the tourists in the valley, we have some really poor drivers in general,” she said. “We

have to slow down and be a little patient. If you are late for school, you're late to school and that doesn’t mean you’re passing school buses or going so fast that you get in an accident. I’d want you to take the detention from the school before that happens. This is how I feel. We are always rushing. We need to slow down and be mindful of how we are driving. No rush, rush, rush.” Ms. Vicky is hoping to expand her offerings through the nonprofit arm of her business, called the JH Driving Foundation. The foundation helps support students who need scholarship funding for her course. She is also currently fundraising to purchase a driving simulator that would be used as an additional learning tool. With more people moving to the valley and driving over Teton Pass for work in Jackson, Ms. Vicky is hopeful that by expanding her learning tools, she will reach more people looking to become better, safer drivers. Jackson Hole Driving Academy is conveniently open six days a week, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In a competitive real estate arena, the Mountain Standard Realty team at Compass is enhancing their decades of experience by joining Compass, a technology-focused real estate firm that aims to empower buyers, sellers, and agents with powerful digital tools and a nationwide real estate network. Mountain Standard continues to focus on community and shares an appreciation of the mountain-town way of life with their clients, but now better able to meet the needs of buyers and sellers on both sides of the Tetons. As the real estate industry rapidly adopts new technologies, “the decision to join Compass was made in order to better serve clients by leveraging their industry leading digital tools and offerings and providing our agents access to top-notch training and other fantastic opportunities we weren’t able to easily provide as an independent brokerage.” explained Melissa Raynor, a partner with the agency. “Other unique offerings like Compass Concierge allows our seller clients to take out interest-free home improvement loans to prepare their homes for market without having to pay anything out of pocket.” Tools like Compass Concierge can help sellers gain a distinct edge and get the most for their properties,

while buyers and sellers can gain access to important market insights and the real-time data that has become paramount in highly sought-after housing markets. Since agents work with clients from across the region and country, they’ve been able quickly to leverage Compass’s large network. “The value that Compass adds to our business was too good of an opportunity to pass up,” said Raynor. The Mountain Standard Realty team emphasizes their focus on data-driven market innovations and remains committed to their origins as a truly local agency. That means a personal touch and an understanding that many clients’ decisions center around lifestyle and community. “Many of our team members were born and raised in the Jackson area and/or are long time locals,” Raynor said. “We are strong supporters of local nonprofits and community events and continue our efforts to give back to the community which we all call home.” With high demand and tough competition for homes, the Mountain Standard Realty team works to provide their clients a unique blend of local expertise, big-city capabilities, and Old West hospitality.

Since their early days, New Thought Digital Agency’s Ryan Hittner and Jesse Ryan have brought a savvy edge to strategic advertising and branded content. Now with a team of 10 full-time staff members, and an extensive portfolio of notable regional brands, including the Wyoming Office of Tourism, Visit Jackson Hole, and The Clear Creek Group, New Thought has expanded services and found their stride as Wyoming’s premier full-service ad agency. Creating dynamic content was the first goal, but what they found through their close client relationships was that great content alone was not finishing the media relay. “The marketplace is a noisy one. We found that all too often, organizations produce multimedia content without a strategy for lifting those messages above the noise” Ryan said. “New Thought doesn’t just create content, we distribute it.” As the firm’s dexterity in cross-platform advertising strengthened, so too did its approach to out-of-the-box media solutions. “When working on a rebrand — for example, our recent update of the Community Foundation and Old Bill’s Fun Run identities — we sit down as an agency-wide team and talk about how we can make it meaningful,”

Ryan said. “That includes agency ownership, interns, the web team and the media strategists, not just the creative team.” This team-think dynamic has translated into a variety of award-winning modalities, such as interactive labeling for Snake River Brewing, public art installations, and the “Stay Wild” social media campaign for Jackson Hole. The drive for “meaningful work” endows New Thought’s advertising campaigns with mission-driven multimedia content. Examples are all over Jackson — adjacent to the Town Square, in your fridge, and in your social media feed. “The big blue moose on the side of Jackson Drug Building is an ad for the National Museum of Wildlife Art,” Ryan said. “We had a local artist create this public art mural. When you take a picture in front of the mural, the embedded QR codes trigger a drop-down invitation to visit the museum.” That campaign drove unprecedented traffic and provided a downtown presence for the museum. It’s those kinds of new thoughts that have established New Thought Digital Agency as one of the most sought-after creative agencies in the Rocky Mountain region.

Oden Watches and Jewelry is on the move in more ways than one. Oden Watches and Jewelry store will make another historic move, quite literally, to the corner of Glenwood just across from their current location on West Deloney Ave. Owner Lisa Knapp was excited to make a shift with the store while others in town were making similar moves. As the Jackson Hole Historical Society tucked itself into the Greenspace Block next to Persephone Bakery, Knapp sought and purchased one of Jackson’s oldest, longest-standing brick buildings that was once home to “The Deloney Street Market.” “We’re moving to the corner store,” Knapp said enthusiastically. “This is the oldest brick building dating back to 1906 and we bought the whole corner. It’s not a huge amount of space, but we will be able to offer some seating areas to make the space more comfortable when you are shopping and visiting the store. And I love being social. You know I love people, and I love to have them in here talking their ears off,” she said laughing. Knapp is the bright, personable light of the growing and reputable jewelry business just a

block south of the Town Square in Jackson. She has been working to preserve and honor so many historical pieces of Jackson Hole. She is excited to be working side by side with Cara Rose, a fourthgeneration local, former rodeo queen, one who is 100% authentic Jackson. Knapp continues to honor the store’s legacy of customer service by offering watch battery services and jewelry repairs. She is also excited to offer some of the world’s most in-demand watch pieces and internationally acclaimed jewelry designers. Knapp said the Omega, Norgain and Locman watches are designed with the Rocky Mountain lifestyle in mind; rugged and unique. She is also pleased to offer the award-winning Vincent Peach jewelry line that again speaks to the Jackson Hole and Teton region character with classic cuts of fine metals, stone and leather. With decades of professional jewelry sales under her belt, Knapp works to bring a variety of offerings to the table that will fit all lifestyles and budgets. From bridal and engagement to fine jewelry and watches, the new corner store opening on July 1 is a must stop and shop.

Marc Malone, Darrell Shervin, Andrew Harpole & Scott Shervin

Shervin’s Auto Care 400 US-89 | Jackson, WY | (307) 733-3793 Andrew@ShervinsAutoCare.com Sometimes when things seem to change, they actually stay the same. That’s the case with Shervin’s Independent Oil and Automotive Center, which was recently purchased from the family that has held it for 52 years. The new owners intend to do things exactly the Shervin’s way. “We want to keep the spirit of service Shervin’s has established, and keep doing what’s right,” Andrew Harpole, one of the new owners, said. “I’ve seen these guys over and over again, working with customers, finding exactly what they need and not overselling anything, not giving anyone a hard sell.” Along with Ciara Thomas and Marc Malone, Harpole wants to continue the tradition of customer service and small-town friendliness the Shervins established over five decades. Former owners Darrell and Scott Shervin have stuck around to help during the transition. But soon they'll take some much-needed time off for retirement. (Darrell Shervin, 65, has been working the store since he was in eighth grade.) “I’ve worked with these guys for a month now, and I can say we are really happy to turn the business over to them, “ Scott Shervin said.

One upgrade that highlights the new owners' commitment to keeping things the same is the digitizing of prize photographs. The Shervins wanted to take the old photos from the waiting room with them into retirement. Harpole and his partners hired a local company to scan all the pictures, arrange them into collages and put them back up on the walls in a newly renovated waiting room. “Taking care of people at a high level is in my heart, and it is for Marc also,” Harpole said. “Everything the Shervins have done in terms of servicing the community stays the same.” Harpole was attracted to Shervin's for the exact reasons he’s keeping things the same – the sense of community, knowing your customers and taking care of them for years. “It’s about community for me,” he said. “It’s about being in a place where you know your neighbors and you can belong and you can get out of the hustle and bustle.” Like others, Harpole wants to keep the small-town, friendly feel at both Shervin’s and in Jackson. “The Shervins are all about relationships, and we intend to do the same.”

Silicon Couloir britt@siliconcouloir.com SiliconCouloir.com/Teams-Mentoring Entrepreneurship — supporting 501(c)(3) nonprofit Silicon Couloir is pairing local startups with accomplished volunteer mentors in a free program called TEAMS (Teton Entrepreneurs and Mentoring Service). Piloted in early 2018 and launched in late 2019, TEAMS currently has 20 active ventures and more than 50 mentors. Each burgeoning company is paired with two to four mentors for regular 90-minute sessions. Companies are also keyed into the larger network and community of other ventures working through the process.

Director of Entrepreneurship Brittney Ziebell was recently able to see Highpoint Cider's founders show off their brick and mortar, at Silicon Couloir’s June Chance Meetings. “That was a special moment,” she said. “They made it through COVID and they're really blossoming.” “Because the Silicon Couloir program is free, it's a no-brainer for new companies in their growth stage. Comparative consulting work can cost thousands,” Ziebell notes “which is out of

reach for most early-stage ventures. Mentoring can have a huge impact on a company’s future, and it’s identified as one of the key factors in company success.” TEAMS is currently recruiting new companies who are beyond the conceptual stage and ready for objective advice and guidance from expert business people and veteran entrepreneurs. Experienced entrepreneurs are encouraged to sign on as new mentors.

Embracing risk is a Jackson mantra, but unlike hucking off a cliff snowboarding, a leap into the world of entrepreneurship benefits greatly from a helpful hand. TEAMS is based on the proven MIT Venture Mentor Services program. “Some of the participating companies have been acquired or graduated from the intense growth phase where they need consistent mentor support, but it's never a closed door,” Ziebell said “They can always reach back out if they're at a point where they need more advice."

Construction at Snake River Brewery has finally come to an end, and the local favorite is now up and running seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. A new gameroom features shuffleboard, foosball, and a golf arcade for patrons to enjoy while sipping one of SRB’s award-winning beers. Music lovers can also see live performances every Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. outside on the lawn. The brewpub bills itself as the oldest in Wyoming, and has been serving beer “brewed with a touch of the Tetons” since 1994. “It’s definitely a staple in town,” said Sales and Marketing Director Elliott Wilkins. “We see a lot of folks in here that have lived here for 25 or 30 years.” The vibe is still very much the same; a place to be laid back, shoot the breeze, and talk about the day on the river. That atmosphere is what’s earned SRB the nickname “the living room,” a title they expect to retain after the latest round of construction has resulted in several major upgrades. “The building got a face-lift,” Wilkins said, “but the ‘living room’ appeal is still very much our identity.”

In addition to the new gameroom, the second floor has been expanded for increased capacity, and four new taps have been added behind the bar, where customers can sometimes catch a glimpse of brewers in action. “Everything is brewed on-site in-house, everything is packaged in-house.” Wilkins said. “Another reason why we’re viewed as the living room, not a production brewery. The focus first and foremost is on 265 South Millward St.” Though SRB has expanded their beer lineup in recent years with sours and hazy IPAs, they’ve built a name brewing true-to-style traditional German lagers and English ales. Lagers have a longer fermentation process but provide a rewarding taste for beer lovers looking to break away from the slew of IPAs proliferating the craft brewery scene. SRB’s ales and lagers are made with local ingredients like malted barley from Idaho and water directly from the Snake River. “Water supply makes or breaks a bee,r” said Wilkins. Adding that the folks at SRB take beer seriously but not so much themselves, Wilkins said: “Put our river through your liver.”

There are a handful of tastes and smells that are synonymous with the Tetons, and all of the untamed places in between. Snake River Roasting Co., the internationally award-winning coffee company, is the defining roast of the Rocky Mountain West – adventurous, wonderful and wildly delicious. “When people come to Jackson Hole, they want to take a piece of the Tetons with them and that’s one of the most important services for us to offer,” said Meaghan Moylan, executive director of SRRC. “You can order online and enjoy our coffee all year long. We mail all over the country. And now, you can enjoy SRRC in-house.” By the time you read these words, Snake River Roasting Co. will have opened their first brick-andmortar cafe tucked into Town Square at 50 West Broadway in the heart of Jackson Hole. “We’re thrilled to have found the perfect space to serve the best coffee in town along with breakfast, lunch, quick snacks and specialty drinks,” Moylan said. “We are looking forward to providing a really great and comfortable experience in the new cafe.” The new cafe incorporates a color palette and artfully designed space inspired by the high plains

and deep river valleys of the Teton Mountain Range. The high ceilings and big windows showcase the beauty of the seasonal changes in light, giving way to a gracious amount of space where visitors and locals alike can feel at home. The team at SRRC is partnering with the talented chefs at Provisions Jackson Hole. Together, they have been working on the store menu to perfectly pair with your favorite drink. From graband-go items such as the overnight huckleberry chia pudding and house-made Danishes in three flavors, to a smoked turkey sandwich with brie cheese, pickled apple, black garlic aioli, on a 460 ciabatta, complete with arugula, and fig port syrup. Nothing could be better other than bagging the summit of the Grand or a cutthroat at the end of your line. At SRRC, all of the coffee beans are roasted by hand and in small batches. An important detail, said Moylan, for product control and taste. She added proudly that SRRC boasts an all-female roasting team. “It’s a tough job and we feel pretty badass working with these strong and talented women,” she said.

Jenn Sparks describes herself as a, “hewer of wood, drawer of water,” and as such, she is ready to work for you as your resident project point person. Armed with a lifetime of knowledge and onthe-ground-experience in Jackson Hole, Sparks is excited to launch her newest endeavor, Sparks and Rec LLC. This business is designed to work with families, individuals, long time residents and budding Wyomites to navigate the Jackson Hole region. The goal is to help them integrate thoughtfully and philanthropically into the valley. “Philanthropy looks like different things to different people — getting involved, participating, volunteering, showing up and preserving the community we live in,” she said. Sparks and Rec LLC provides management and guidance on special projects, philanthropic connections, select financial management and investment matters and all points in between. Sparks is the link and professional connection to the Tetons you never knew you needed. Until now. “When the pandemic hit, our community saw a big influx of people moving into the valley,” said Sparks. “Many of these families are coming in and asking how they can get involved, or have questions about this or need to know how to go about doing

that. This is where my business took root. I am excited to work with people looking to settle, connect and establish themselves in the community.” Sparks has enjoyed almost 25 years as a partner, portfolio manager and equity analyst with Friess Associates and currently serves on a variety of nonprofit boards that span the reach of all points of influence in Teton County, Wyoming. These include a longtime volunteer for Search and Rescue plus a foundation member, treasurer of the Jackson Hole Land Trust, Snake River Fund and Bridger Teton Avalanche Center. “Over the decades, I have been able to build a Rolodex™ of relationships and have connections from all walks of life,” Sparks said. “I have a great network within this community and I want to put those connections to work for you. I’m looking forward to sitting down with you, to start making those important relationships work for and with you.” Sparks will take a personal approach to working with clients to find the right fit for every need. As Jackson Hole has grown, she recognized the need for a connected maven who could help with special projects and initiatives, collaborations. “I’m here to help integrate clients into the valley. I’m the boots on the ground, the hewer of wood, the drawer of water.”

State Farm helping the community

Teton Valley Health expands offerings to meet growing community needs

State Farm — Austin O'Bryhim

10 Stormy Circle | Jackson, WY | (307) 733-4215 YourJacksonAgent.com

120 East Howard Avenue | Driggs, ID | (208) 354-2383 TVHCare.org

After taking over State Farm office in March, Agent in Charge Austin O’Bryhim and his team have made it their mission to be the most communityminded insurer in town with the financial backing of a Fortune 30 company. O’Bryhim has been with State Farm since 2015 but took the position at the Jackson branch last year in part because of his own origins. “I grew up in a small town, where if you did something, it actually had an impact,” he said. “That’s why I chose a town like Jackson — because with what we’re trying to do, we can actually see the fruits of our labor.” Relationships, according to O’Bryhim, are what insurance is really about. “It’s businesses that are involved in the community and actually take the time to get to know their customers,” he said. “You can’t do that with a call center or a website. It takes someone living and working and interacting in the community to understand what unique challenges are here.” The branch is involved with local nonprofit initiatives, such as their work with Jackson Hole

Driving Academy to educate young drivers about driving hazards unique to mountain life. Project Graduation, another initiative supported by the branch, is aimed at ensuring high school graduates are given the opportunity for a fun, drug- and alcohol-free graduation night. O’Bryhim and his team are so focused on the community that he’s already planning to run as one of the county’s precinct committeemen. “When I got this job, I joked that I was going to be mayor of Jackson someday,” he said. “And now I’m already running for office.” Part of his platform is ensuring that Teton County has a positive image and relationship with the rest of the state, and that those who live and work in the county get the support they need. O’Bryhim stresses that insurance is about more than making sure a vehicle is street legal or satisfying obligations to a lienholder. “Our mission is to make sure that no matter what language you speak, no matter what your economic status is, nothing precludes you from having a quality insurance agent.”

With roots dating back to 1938, Teton Valley Health is an award-winning primary health care provider serving the Teton Valley community of eastern Idaho and Alta, Wyoming with life-saving treatments, surgical operations and rehabilitation, and a wide array of primary care, specialty, and wellness services. As Teton Valley’s largest medical center, TVH is the source of health and healing for all who choose to live, work, and play here. “We have an important responsibility to the meet our community’s existing health care needs, especially those caused by the unprecedented growth we’re seeing in the valley,” said Jericho Cline, director of marketing and public relations at TVH. This year, TVH expanded facilities through a remodel of their Specialty Clinic. The new Specialty Clinic offers dermatology, cardiology, general surgery, oncology, neurology, orthopedics, pain management, and pulmonology, with more specialties to come in the near future. “As we identify critical health needs in our community, we’re adapting our services to meet people where they are and where they want to be,” said Keith Gnagey, CEO at TVH. “Every day we are looking to improve the medical access for our community.” The Specialty Clinic added two additional exam

rooms, as well as improvements to their imaging and radiology services. Some of the services provided are ultrasounds, DEXA scans and 3D mammograms. The Hospital Procedure Room expansion is where echocardiograms and electromyography tests will be performed. In May, TVH also launched their newest telehealth program, TeleBurn, through a partnership with the Burn & Reconstructive Center at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. TVH also offers TeleStroke and TeleBehavioral Health services to patients. Telehealth programs are available 24/7 for patients. “Our aim is that our community receive technically superior and medically relevant services in our valley without the need to travel for the same kind of care,” Gnagey said. “While the Tetons may feel off the beaten path, through our highly skilled and compassionate team, and our connections to other regional facilities and hospitals, we’re creating endless access for the care that you require.” With a critical access hospital, two clinics serving Driggs and Victor and a cash-only clinic located just north of Driggs called Cache Clinic, the medical center with humble, homegrown roots has worked to grow with sophistication and compassion with the community needs in mind.

The mission hasn’t changed though. Wheel Wranglers’ fundamental aim is to connect visitors and locals alike to bikeable mountain adventures. “It's exciting, the steps we're taking collectively as a community to make cycling more inclusive and accessible,” Katie McNamara said. In addition to mountain, gravel and road bike setups, Wheel Wranglers offers adventure tricycles ready to help adaptive athletes rip. The company is adaptive-certified through Teton Adaptive Sports. It also employs local interns throughout the summer through a new partnership with Coombs Outdoors.

TRUTH | TRUST | EXCELLENCE | RELIABILITY | COMMUNITY

McNamara said it was a “big step” for the business to move into its current location last fall. But already, the space feels like home.

“We're really excited to be here, to be able to serve our community in a higher capacity,” she said. And that community is quickly expanding as more folks find cycling for the first time or reconnect with the sport thanks to a new ride. McNamara is quick to shout out Friends of Pathways, a Jackson nonprofit that creates and maintains rideable routes throughout the region, for literally laying the groundwork for adventure. The company is also proud to be part of the robust community of bicycle shops and rental outfitters in the valley, all “working towards expanding the cycling community here.” Wheel Wranglers can get you on a bike, give you suggested rides, help with bike service and even sales. They even serve as kind of a concierge-viabike, offering suggestions on where to eat on a variety of bike routes. Whether you’re looking to maximize a quick visit to town, or to find a new experience in the valley you call home, Wheel Wranglers hopes to remove the hassle and prioritize the ride.
