Aero offers a new class of first class

Ginny Stradley Meagher, MBA & Doug Langen, CFP®

Aero

Bank Of Jackson Hole

415-650-2376 Aero.com

Main Branch: 990 West Broadway, Jackson | 307-732-BOJH BOJH.com

Air travel company Aero is now providing direct flights on semi-private luxury jets from Jackson to Los Angeles. “With Aero, the entire travel experience has been meticulously designed to make guests feel at ease and to recapture the glory days of air travel,” said Uma Subramanian, CEO of Aero. Aero launched in 2019 offering flights between popular European summer destinations such as London, Mykonos, Nice and Ibiza. In January the company debuted its first route in the United States between Los Angeles and Aspen, adding Napa, Jackson and Sun Valley this spring. People can travel directly to these popular destinations between private terminals in a way that is relaxing, convenient and safe. Private lounges and crowd-free terminals allow Aero to eliminate long lines associated with large commercial airports. Aero offers passengers a high-end experience with every person receiving first-class seats with window and aisle access and spacious leg room and personalized service. “Guests can expect exceptional personalized service – your favorite snacks and beverages will be waiting for you - and an intimate, laid-back vibe

that helps ensure you enjoy the journey as much as the destination,” Subramanian said. Subramanian noted that the flights are comparable to first-class tickets on a commercial airline. Guests can also have flexible travel plans knowing they can modify or cancel their flight up to 48 hours before departure. “Aero is a smart option, especially for those who fly between Jackson Hole and Los Angeles on a regular basis,” she said. Flying Aero can also be a smart environmental decision. By giving people a desirable option to share luxury planes instead of flying on a private jet, travel is more fuel efficient. It is also one of the first companies that has switched to Sustainable Aviation Fuel, a blend of biofuel, that reduces its carbon emissions. “And for every ticket booked, Aero will plant five trees to help reduce their carbon footprint,” Subramanian said. Aero plans to continue to add flight routes and expand its fleet. Subramanian encouraged Jackson locals to use the code “Jackson10” at checkout for a 10 percent discount on a first flight booked before July 31.

With its newly renovated main branch the Bank of Jackson Hole continues to build on its reputation of superior customer service as it expands inperson interactions and access to services through the collaborative departments of Private Bank and Trust & Wealth Partners. “We have ties here,” said Douglas Langen, senior vice president, director & chief investment officer of Trust & Wealth Partners. “We know the market inside and out. It’s the personal relationships with our clients that really work well for us.” Since the family-owned bank opened its doors in 1982 it has valued building trust with its clients so they can offer tailor-made solutions for each client’s unique needs and financial goals. Bank of Jackson Hole’s Trust & Wealth Partners specializes in investments, estate planning and legacy management. It interfaces with Private Bank, which began three years ago to facilitate day-today transactions and resolve complex banking challenges with exceptional personal and business banking and wealth management. “Three years ago the Bank of Jackson Hole developed a Private Bank department that would partner with Trust & Wealth Partners to offer

our clients an even more robust list of products and services,” said Ginny Stradley Meagher, Vice President, Private Bank. “We’re growing the Private Bank Department to facilitate a single point of contact and develop deep knowledge of the client so that we can manage whatever that client may need for both sets of services. We really partner together, and we’re able to foster strong relationships because of that partnership.” As the Bank of Jackson Hole chose to invest in its main branch to expand services and access to face-to-face banking and services, the renovation also offered an opportunity to get the teams of Trust & Wealth Partners and Private Bank under one roof. Stradley Meagher explained that she and Langen are easily accessible to their clients. “It’s our business to understand each client’s individual financial philosophy, direction and goals. We work together to make it. “We’re a big enough bank to offer world-class options to our clients,” Langen said, “and small enough to be flexible to meet their needs and customize solutions for each client.”

JH Real Estate Associates has agreed to join Compass

Loan program can save you money, energy

Compass Real Estate

Energy Conservation Works

307-733-6060 jhrea.com

307-264-2355 energyconservationworks.org

Jackson Hole Real Estate Associates has joined Compass Real Estate. The real estate business has been rapidly evolving over the last few years. Long gone are the days of traditional slow-moving marketing and information sharing. While expertise, ethics and hard work are still the cornerstones of a successful brokerage, technology now plays an essential role. Compass is the fastest growing and most technologically advanced real estate organization in the world. They are investing in their agents and giving them the tools they need to elevate the level of service, communication and insight within the real estate industry. Agents using Compass programming are at the benchmark for innovation.

This translates to better exposure for clients and more successful deals. As a market leader, Compass Jackson Hole adopts and implements forward-thinking change. Compass is home to more than 19,000 of the top agents in 150+ cities across the country; their network connects brokerages and agents in many of the markets that are most important to buyers and sellers in Jackson Hole.

Energy Conservation Works has done it again. By securing another $750,000 in loan funding through the Wyoming Energy Authority and working in conjunction with Lower Valley Energy, coop members again have the opportunity to invest in their homes all in the name of energy efficiency. Think weatherstripping, new doors, insulation, solar panels and maybe (finally!) installing a more efficient heating system and thermostat. “This program is great because it removes barriers for residents to invest in their homes,” said Phillip Cameron, the executive director for Energy Conservation Works. “So often it’s the financial barrier that keeps people from pursuing projects that in the end will save them money and make them more comfortable.” Over the past decade ECW worked with homeowners to lend nearly $1.3 million, from the first round of funding through the Wyoming State Energy Office. It allowed Lower Valley Energy members in Teton and Lincoln counties to borrow at low-to-no interest on a maximum loan of $20,000. Customers who borrowed $7,500 or less received a 0% interest rate. And with another $750,000 in loan funding,

ECW wants to see more customers take advantage of the low-interest loan to complete energy efficient home projects. “We are all very much in this together,” said Cameron of being a member of Lower Valley Energy. “Anything we can do to reduce our energy consumption is good for all of us. If one of us saves, we all save.”

Jackson Hole Real Estate Associates Has Agreed to Join Compass Moving into the summer season, agents at Compass Jackson Hole are fully equipped with the technology, experience and insider insight needed to support buyers and sellers through what is often the largest transaction of their lifetime.

We’re excited to announce that Jackson Hole Real Estate Associates has agreed to join Compass. JHREA has been committed to our community and clients since launching in 2009, and we are excited to continue our journey with Compass.

There are a few rules to the program. First and foremost, you must be a member of the co-op and projects are only for existing homes and not for new construction. Those who take advantage of the program will make payments on their monthly Lower Valley Energy bill. Those loans must be repaid by within five years (60 payments), and must be paid off if the home sells. To learn more about how homeowners can save on upgrading the energy efficiency of their homes, visit EnergyConservationWorks.org. ECW can also direct you to contractors who specialize in energyproofing homes.

Navigating a real estate market as complex and diverse as the greater Jackson Hole region requires more than an agent throwing your property online and hoping to land a buyer in a sea of Zillow postings. “We are passionate about real estate and savvy with new and emerging real estate technology, “ said Andrew Ellett, owner and broker of Engel & Völkers Jackson Hole. “And with every year there is still someone bringing more technology to the table. While we have embraced that, I also feel that with every year that goes by, people want the personal, human touch that comes with purchasing or selling one of your most important investments: your home.” Engel & Völkers is an international powerhouse with a rich history grounded with European roots and unmatched service around the world. They have even expanded with a Yachting and Aviation Division. “It’s about being able to network, both domestically and globally,“ Ellett said. “As a true international brand, we are large enough for a

global reach, yet small enough for that important personal touch.” Since establishing Engel & Völkers Jackson Hole, Ellett has created a team designed not to simply shuffle buyers and sellers across the Rocky Mountain terrain, but to engage clients on a truly international level. Ellett is one of a handful of global brokers who is a member of Engel & Völkers’ Private Office, which gives the Jackson Hole office unique access to rare and hidden real estate gems that are often sold quietly or off-market. This kind of networking is unparalleled in the Jackson Hole, Teton Valley, and Star Valley markets where the firm is primarily focused. “We always say, luxury is not a price point, it’s a service level,” said Ellett. “We offer the same level of service no matter what you are selling. This falls in line with the ethos and mission of our company, which is ‘to link together the aspirations of discerning individuals around the world, be it in a private or a business context. With total passion.’”

Have you ever wanted to learn more about the internal gearing that drives your actions and responses? How the personality you have honed over a lifetime may give you less freedom due to automatic thought and emotional patterns? Local Carrie Kirkpatrick is on a mission to understand why we do what we do. Using the lens of the Enneagram, Carrie explores these questions, transforming individuals' understanding of their personality, and increasing self-knowledge. The Enneagram is a psychological model that denotes nine personality types and how they work together in an individual’s psyche. These Enneagram types and the discovery work that Carrie facilitates provide a clear pathway to selfawareness, self-regulation, and self-compassion. Kirkpatrick was first introduced to the Enneagram as she pursued answers to understand why she had such a challenge attuning to and nurturing her oldest daughter. She read about the Type 4, the “Intense Creative.” “It described my daughter with such clarity it was uncanny,” she said. She then turned the tool on herself and gained insight, saw blindspots and understood for the first time precisely why she

was struggling to be a present and well-resourced parent. “It provides a new lens to see yourself and your relationships with other people,” Kirkpatrick said. “It is nothing but helpful.” As the only Certified Enneagram professional in the Narrative Tradition in the state of Wyoming, Kirkpatrick works with individuals, couples, and businesses to help further their understanding of the Enneagram, and how this drives and affects interpersonal dynamics. Graduating with her degree in Human Development, she honed her intensive listening skills throughout her early professional life with her family’s investment firm. Broad coursework, seminars and certifications in Enneagram concepts, coupled with a degree in Human Development from Boston College, have rounded out Carrie’s own journey of self-discovery and provided her with the tools she uses with her clients on a daily basis. “This work improves self-knowledge and gives us greater compassion for others” said Kirkpatrick.

Inversion expands with new classes, boutique, and sustainable cafe! Since 2010, Inversion Yoga has grown from a single hot yoga room into a large wellness community that is creating a positive impact locally. “At Inversion we seek to lift one another up, to learn, grow and explore ways to heal ourselves, community and planet,” said Louise Sanseau, studio founder and owner. Now located at 260 W. Pearl Ave., Inversion continues to offer a full schedule of daily Yoga, Pilates and Barre classes. Their lifestyle boutique carries socially and environmentally conscious lines, such as Kelly Slater’s Fair Trade brand Outerknown and the carbon-neutral clothing company Vuori. Now Inversion is launching a new sustainable cafe. “We have an opportunity to support the people and companies working to create positive environmental and ethical shifts within the food industry. Through conscious sourcing, upcycling ingredients and decreasing our waste, we are extremely excited to bring healthy, local and seasonal options to our community.” said Devin Bailey, cafe manager and head chef. To bypass the cafe line, practitioners will be able to order

specialty drinks and energy-dense snacks before class and have their order ready post class. More food options will be integrated into a seasonally evolving menu as the Inversion Café continues to expand. The cafe brings another element of health and wellness to a studio already focused on nourishing the mind and body. “Inversion is a place where people can go to find sanctuary. We truly believe that everyone has the capacity to heal themselves and to create a positive ripple in the world with their life,” Sanseau said. “Our job is to show up and support this movement that is rising locally and globally to decrease our negative impact and to be the solution-finding generation that lives more harmoniously with nature and with one another.” Inversion remains intent on bringing in sustainable options in all aspects of the business to encourage and provide a resource for the community to consume consciously. The studio, boutique and cafe contribute to a larger goal of creating a sanctuary that many call home.

A trusted source of knowledge for visitors and locals alike for 75 years, the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce is a database of information on the valley and its businesses. And, given that we are on the tail-end of the COVID-19 pandemic and the brink of Jackson’s tourism season, this summer will be the Chamber of Commerce’s busiest one yet. Because of that the organization is ready to assist the area’s businesses as they navigate the challenges ahead. “The role of the Chamber is to continue to monitor the needs of the business community and provide resources and information to support them,” Chamber President Anna Olson said. “It’s challenging to run your business, whatever size, and keep up with the community impact issues, it can feel overwhelming, especially during busy seasons.” The Chamber can listen, be a support arm, while helping advance the broader dialogues on issues that affect them, such as housing, transit and quality of life. We are all striving for the best outcomes for visitors and residents; working together helps achieve these. From existing businesses to new ones, the Chamber provides a few key assets: awareness, product support, training and networking. “Having

your business join the Chamber means we can connect you on a personal level with all the right contacts you need, while also navigating business startup and growth,” Olson said. In addition, the Chamber is committed to sustainability and our small town’s Western roots. For example, the Chamber ensures we celebrate 4th of July with an amazing parade, celebrate the holidays with the Tree Lighting on the Square and Easter eggs greet our families in the spring! If you’re passionate about community support, consider volunteering on a Chamber Committee — just contact the Chamber’s front desk or look at their website for more information about their current members and board. “We have a very robust governance structure,” Olson said. “With a board of 17 and over half a dozen committees that tackle different topics including business development, government and community affairs, young professionals, membership and events. There is something for everyone. Being involved in such a community-based organization not only raises awareness for your business, but also creates personal growth opportunities as well as community integration.”

Test drive an electric vehicle this July

Curious if an electric car will work for you? Lower Valley Energy members will soon be able to answer that question for themselves through the Electric Vehicle Experience Program. How do they drive? How do they “gas up”? Can I make it through a Jackson winter with an electric car? Does an electric car fit into my everyday life? Where can I even test drive one? Say no more. Working with a variety of partners including Yellowstone-Teton Clean Cities, Energy Conservation Works and Teton Conservation District, Lower Valley Energy will offer co-op members the opportunity to test drive an electric car for up to three days starting this summer. Not only is the test drive free, but you will also receive a “charge” card to use at any of the free public charging stations around the valley and a charging system to take home to top the car off at the end of the day. “We want people to have this experience,” said Phillip Cameron, the executive director for Energy Conservation Works. “In two years, the degree in which the electric market will change both locally, regionally and nationally will be dramatic. We want

to show people that it’s easy to try out an electric car because it may likely be the next new car purchase you make.” The electric vehicle will be available for the next three years, building on the successful foundation of the installation of the free electric car charging stations in Teton County, which include the Deloney Street Public Parking Lot, the Home Ranch Lot, Teton Village, the Millward Parking Garage and Town Square. Bailey Collins, project manager for YellowstoneTeton Clean Cities, shared, “we want to make it easy for the community to try out an electric vehicle, and build a future where tourists and the local community have the ability and knowledge to drive electric”. Getting the experience without commitment is a perfect place to start.

An interested participant will be able to sign up online and then meet Lower Valley Energy, Yellowstone-Teton Clean Cities or Energy Conservation Works staff to learn the basics about driving the Electric Vehicle Experience Program.

Mosaic Planning Group

2733 E. 800 South, Victor, Idaho | 208-510-0216 moosecreekranch.com

Moose Creek Ranch in Victor, Idaho, just at the base of Teton Pass, has long been an Idaho gem tucked in tight to the rugged Tetons that define its edges. This escape is arguably unmatched, dovetailing the Rocky Mountain experience with unrivaled, first-class comfort.

“We wanted to give people an authentic outdoors experience, one that was both upscale and down-to-earth,” Hedges said.

The ranch boasts the best access to the BridgerTeton National Forest, Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks while sitting a mere 22 miles from the cultural epicenter of Jackson Hole. The soft paths are rolling out red paintbrush flowers and bright yellow arrowleaf balsamroot, ushering in a new summer season with new owners Tom Hendrick and Tom Hedges at the helm of this iconic space.

A new restaurant called The Campfire Grill will offer breakfast and dinner daily and highlight a “farm-to-table” menu. It is open by reservation only, offers grab-and-go lunches, and features an open lawn for kids to play and cook s’mores.

Bringing a depth of Western hospitality experience to Moose Creek Ranch, the two business partners spent this last winter renovating the ranch, “down to the studs,” said Hedges. From the guest cabins to the five-bedroom Ranch House and the added Luxury Creekside Airstream including a fourperson glamping tent, the feel is at once modern, clean and rustic with every detail thoughtfully planned.

The main lodge has been renovated, and a Happy Hour Bar was added, both with a complete interior redesign by Idle Hand Design.

Moose Creek Ranch also offers 18 luxury RV and motorcoach sites and glamping tents just off Moose Creek, which flows past the ranch on its way to meet the South Fork of the Snake River. With shuttles to the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Grand Targhee and miles of cross-country trails, winter will be just as busy as summer. The Event Barn as also been renovated for family reunions or corporate retreats. The facility can accommodate 150 guests in its year-round operation.

YOU AND YOUR PET ARE OUR TOP PRIORITY

Newly formed Mosaic Planning Group successfully weathered an uncertain business climate in the wake of Covid-19 by thinking outside the box and continuing to put its clients first. Mia Murdock, founder and chief operating officer, along with advisor Heather Stiefvater, brought more than two decades of combined industry experience to create the fully independent insurance advisory firm that specializes in estate planning, life insurance protection, disability insurance and policy reviews. Individuals from diverse backgrounds along with legal, financial and tax experts trust Mosaic to provide tailor-made insurance plans for the best value possible. “We’re highly specialized,” said Murdock. “We know our products, and we know them well. We offer comprehensive plans for clients, and we make sure they are getting the best plan for their situation.” Mosaic had an advantage when regulations due to Covid forced businesses to shut down or find contactless solutions. “We launched in October 2019 right before the pandemic hit,” Murdock explained. “We were

already doing business remotely. We joke that we were doing it before it was cool.” Since its inception, Mosaic interacted with clients throughout Wyoming and various other states in the US through Zoom. In a very short time, Mosaic grew from Murdock and Stiefvater to a team of six with clients in over 15 states. “We’re very focused on controlled growth,” she said. Mosaic has a unique company model, values and culture that they work hard to maintain. In an effort to grow responsibly and stay true to their founding principles, they never take on more clients unless they know they can give them the time and attention necessary for optimal customer service. “We work to control the customer experience,” Murdock said. “We’re incredibly protective of our company culture; we always want our values to be clear.” Whether Mosaic is crafting a plan to secure a family’s mortgage or collaborating on a complex project, the company upholds the same standards. “That’s what sets us apart,” Murdock said. “Communication is so important, not just for our team, but our clients as well. We keep everyone informed along every step of the way.”

Born from a collective desire to serve their clients as they would their own friends, family or neighbors, Mountain Standard Realty is the newest real estate firm to hit the local scene in both the Jackson and Teton Valley areas. “We started with an intention of being a more altruistic and community focused real estate firm,” said Melissa Raynor, a partner and the Marketing Director for MSR. “There can be a disconnect when you are working with a large, corporate real estate firm. We are fully invested in our community and we know the local market, the local people and what drives our community. These are the values that brought us all together,” she said of the staff and founding partners, Andrew Byron, Randy DePree, Doug Herrick, Nicholas Houfek, Eric Johnson, John McNaughton, Sam Reece, Zach Smith and Jack Stout. Being local and knowing local is just a part of what the firm has to offer. They are focused on leveraging technology to the fullest extent to best serve their buyer and seller clients. “More and more people are finding homes online – at least 93% of home buyers are searching for homes

on the internet. We want to be able to facilitate the home search for buyers and help market our sellers' properties to the best of our ability,” said Raynor. “There are a lot of buyers coming in from out of town and that’s just the reality. We are a friendly, all-inclusive firm and are happy to work with a variety of clients from all walks of life.” MSR is also walking the walk while talking the talk. The real estate firm plans to give back no less than 1 percent of its total profits in its first year to local nonprofits in both the Jackson and Teton Valley markets. “We are committed to reinvesting in the communities that our owners and agents call home,” said Raynor. In addition to reinvesting in the community, this summer season MSR is also proud to sponsor the Jackson Hole Farmers Market and the Music on Main free summer concert music series in Victor, Idaho, and is contributing to several other local events and causes. The firm currently has an office in Jackson on Pearl Street and is looking forward to opening a Main Street office in Victor this summer.

organizations that are working to support Jackson and Jackson’s Western heritage.”

Knapp brings an infectious energy and genuine love of Jackson, community and of course, jewelry, to Oden & Knapp Jewelry and Watch, formally Thoenigs Jewelry, on West Deloney Street. “I came into this store 30 years ago and immediately fell in love with Dick (Richard Thoenig),” Knapp said. “The family has become great friends of ours over the decades.” Now retired from wholesale watch and jewelry sales, Knapp was helping Robin, Dick’s daughter, with the store last summer when the two women agreed that she should rent the business. “I have a passion for jewelry,” Knapp said. “Who isn’t happy buying something beautiful for themselves or someone they love? You know what else I love? I love this community. I love that this store is rooted in serving the local community. We will be doing a lot for this community as we move ahead. It’s very important to us to reinvest in

Knapp and her staff are delighted to work in the local business community where jewelers work together to serve a variety of client needs — if she doesn’t have what you are looking for, she will find someone who does. She’s happy to change a watch battery in your everyday timepiece while also offering some of the highest quality and most rare jewelry finds in the Tetons. Thinking about popping the question? Knapp wants to hear your love story just as much as she wants to offer you a diverse collection of rings to fit your style (and budget). The shop is still available to fix any jewelry too, from broken chains to new settings. “I love to do what I’ve loved to do in the jewelry and watch business for the last 35 years,” Knapp said. “And I love honoring that grouchy Dick Thoenig,” she added with a big and knowing laugh.

With the pandemic closing its curtains on a dreary second act, folks are fleeing home workouts and finding their way back to the infectious energy of communal, trainer-led classes. But if you’ve never hopped into that scene, it can seem intimidating … and sweaty. Luckily the trainers at Pursue JH are helping folks start small and tackle their wellbeing one step at a time. “We encourage people to keep it simple,” said the studio’s new owner, Trish Fairbanks. “The hardest step is walking in the door.” Once people enter the airy 820 W. Broadway space, Fairbanks said they can look around and find the form of movement that feels the best. For example, you might be downward dogging in a yoga class then see a conditioning class on the lower level that suits your fancy. “Our body and spirit ebbs and flows just like the four seasons here in Jackson Hole so it’s very important to listen to your body,” Fairbanks said. The gym makes flexibility easy by offering three unique studios and a variety of workout styles ranging from barre to boxing. Most of our instructors have been lifelong

athletes. Betsy Neil, for example, grew up skiing in Jackson and now teaches 50-minute “Megaformer” sessions which are essentially low-impact, highintensity workouts similar to traditional Pilates but on large, resistance-based machines. Emily Greiff also teaches Megaformer and says she’s interested in the mental health benefits of exercise. She began teaching at Pursue after her own life was transformed by the program. Classes are capped so that trainers can give personal feedback and monitor participants’ alignment closely. Through the guiding trio of strength, endurance and flexibility, the gym strives to keep clients injury free while they work toward their long-term fitness goals. “In my opinion there will never be a substitute for that one-on-one community and real time feedback,” Fairbanks said. She’s thrilled to welcome people to Pursue JH, even if it’s just for a quick walk around to see the new space. “I want you to feel happy here like we do,” the owner said.

In 1912, after sparsely populated Star Valley failed to attract the attention of the Bell Telephone Company, a group of ranchers and businessmen took it upon themselves to wire the region. More than a century later, the company they formed, now known as Silver Star Communications, continues to connect the people of western Wyoming and eastern Idaho to the wider world. Today Silver Star is first and foremost a broadband provider. The company offers a range of other communication services, from WiFi to information technology to data center, security and phone services. As senior business consultant Liz AcostaMcCune put it, “Our core values have remained the same, it’s just us constantly evolving in a competitive market.” In comparison with other modes of internet, fiber is “the newest, fastest, most innovative technology out there,” Acosta-McCune said. She added “For those with high bandwidth needs for remote work or large file sharing, or who simply want to work with one local provider for all their services – phone system, internet, data co-location

and back-up, Silver Star is uniquely able to meet those needs. We also work with businesses to customize solutions to their business operations such as using dark fiber to connect multiple locations in real-time without using the public internet.” Acosta-McCune says she counts a majority of Jackson’s businesses among her customers. With 1,800 miles of fiber spanning a vast geographical area, Silver Star is no small-time operation. But the company, which has been owned by the Hoopes family since 1956, does strive to exemplify the small regional business, able to “respond quickly and efficiently to the needs of customers.” The company also makes a point of giving back to the rural populations it serves. Its Caring for Community program donates more than $25,000 annually to local nonprofits. During the pandemic Silver Star maintained a Wi-Fi hotspot at the Teton County Fairgrounds for those who lacked internet access at home. It also provided free broadband for the vaccination site at the soon-to-be Target building, allowing public health workers to upload vaccine data in real time. This kind of community support, Acosta-McCune said, is “what’s unique about a local telecom provider.”

St. John's Physical Rehabilitation

The Adventure West

625 E. Broadway, Jackson | 307-739-4917 stjohns.health/irf

hello@theadventurewest.com theadventurewest.com

St. John’s Health recently opened the doors to St. John’s Health Physical Rehabilitation, the first Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) in northwest Wyoming. The new program fills an important gap in care, providing 24-hour nursing support and intensive functional therapies for patients who have experienced a traumatic injury, significant surgery or illness, or serious medical event such as a stroke. Until now patients requiring inpatient functional rehabilitation have had to travel long distances for care. “This is a great benefit to our community,” Marsha Sensat, Chief Nursing Officer at St. John’s Health said. Sensat said the ability to receive rehabilitative services close to home “where families members can come visit, is very beneficial to our patient’s outcomes and recovery process.” St. John’s Health Physical Rehabilitation helps patients address a wide range of conditions, including strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, hip fractures, femur fractures, amputations and neurological disorders. Patients participate in daily therapy based on their specific needs. These therapies include physical, occupational and speech therapy. In

conjunction with their intensive therapy program, patients receive top-notch medical care from a team of specially trained nurses and rehabilitation physicians. Additional services offered include dietary and social services support to help patients achieve optimum wellness. Patients will receive a minimum of three hours of therapy a day, five days per week, at the 16-bed facility overlooking the National Elk Refuge. The new center boasts a dedicated gym with state-ofthe-art rehabilitation equipment. Patients often enter under traumatic circumstances. Because of this, it will be rewarding to see them recover for Jennifer Chiappa, St. John’s director of medical, surgical and rehabilitation services. “During their short stay with us, typically around 13 days, you can see our patients make an extensive amount of progress,” she said. “You’ll have folks who come in, possibly in a wheelchair or really struggling to find words to express themselves, and when they leave, they’re able to walk out on their own two feet and say, ‘Thank you so much.’ ”

Got chores? Get help. Devin Dwyer is helping people maximize time outdoors and with friends and family. She started the company Adventure West so locals and visitors alike can skip chores and spend more time on the things they love. The company, which started at the end of 2019, is focused on door-to-door grocery delivery. That service picked up speed as the world shut down last year. “We really filled a niche for locals who wanted help during the pandemic, and then people started realizing they could get weekly help without it costing an arm and a leg,” she said. “People have really responded to us because we can help make life easier.” One area that sets Adventure West apart from other grocery delivery services is its commitment to the local flavor of the area, both literally and figuratively.

The company shops at the Teton Valley Farmers Market to support regional growers — a unique service since that market is only open at certain times each week. She also is committed to helping visitors gain a better understanding of and appreciation for the area by including a “Helpful Tips” newsletter to her deliveries. “It’s just a friendly reminder to respect wildlife, keep the area clean, drive slower and respect the great qualities that brought us all out here,” she said. “I just want to do my part to help educate people in the most respectful and well-intended kind of way.” While the company has added a property management component to the mix, the owner is selective about clients she will take on. “The housing crisis here is real and I want to make sure people are sensitive to that and we aren’t adding to the problem,” she said. “Adventure West’s mission is to make life easier for people while respecting and valuing the spirit of the area.”

Rendering of Outpost at Mountainside Village’s Units

The Team at Spring Creek Animal Hospital

The Outpost AT Mountainside Village VCA Spring Creek Animal Hospital tom@ahjacksonhole.com | 307-690-2495 theoutpostmsv.com Since its inception in the early 2000s, Mountainside Village in Victor, Idaho, continues to challenge the standard of modern, environmentally conscience living in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Region. And with the addition of The Outpost, developer Tom Hedges, owner of Akin & Hedges Realty in Jackson, looks to carry on the traditional concepts that define this neighborhood community, all while maintaining the highest standard of sustainable living practices. “What sets us apart is a high drive to create sustainable, eco-friendly services,” Hedges said. “From our construction of houses to the marketing and selling, we are constantly looking to do it in a 21st century way.” Hedges has announced the construction of 39 homes, dubbed “Mountain Modern Farmhouses”, coming soon to the Mountainside Village development that sits along Old Jackson Highway connecting Teton Pass and the growing town of Victor, Idaho.

1035 W Broadway, Jackson | 307-733-1606 vcahospitals.com/spring-creek

Pricing for these homes will begin at $700,000, with each lot allowing for a guest house, or an “Accessory Residential Unit.” The space offers intentionally placed and maintained open spaces, parks and activity areas, including a swimming pond with white sand beaches. The local bike path connects residents immediately to some of the finer amenities Victor has to offer including the Kotler Ice Arena, Grand Teton Brewery, a public horse arena and a new Victor Elementary School. The properties sit near the rounded foothills of the west side of the Teton mountains and offer sweeping views of the Snake River, Big Hole and Teton ranges, and the best views of Taylor Mountain. There is quick access mountain biking, hiking, snowmachining and skiing. Infrastructure has started, home construction will begin in August for reserved homes, and people will start to move in as early as December. “The fact that we are able to develop this area from scratch means we can craft it in the most modern and sustainable way,” Hedges said. “We are so proud of this neighborhood.”

The team at VCA Spring Creek Animal Hospital is excited to announce three doctors joining the practice whose experience, expertise and veterinarian skills are synonymous with Jackson’s premier clinic. The new doctors will allow the busy clinic to see more patients, to get several sets of “eyes” on any veterinary case, and to enhance the life of the vets currently working there. Now serving as the new medical director is Robert Dyke, DVM, DABVP. He is board certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, specializing in small animal care, specifically cat and dog care. Eva Denka, DVM, has also joined the Spring Creek family, having established a reputation in Jackson for her passion around preventive medicines and her emphasis on healthy lifestyle choices for her patients. And finally Stephanie Ninnemann, DVM, comes to the animal hospital as a Jackson native, excited to come home to practice. If she sounds familiar to you, you are correct. Ninnemann is the voice of Vet Chat with Dr. Stephanie Ninnemann on Jackson Hole Radio.

Hospital manager and Registered Veterinary Technician Sumayah Holden reported that Montana-based Bridger Veterinary Specialists will be sending one of two board-certified surgeons to the animal hospital on a regular basis for orthopedic surgeries and soft tissue services. “They are amazing and we are so lucky to have them,” she said. For the Spring Creek team, providing comprehensive and high-quality veterinary care coupled with exceptional client services can only work when the company provides a great place to work and practice. “The life of a veterinarian has at times taken its toll on the vet community,” Holden said. “There has been a massive shift in vet medicine to provide a work-life balance. At Spring Creek, we are making sure that while we are taking care of the entire community, we are also taking care of ourselves. When we don’t take the time to give back to ourselves, we can’t pour ourselves into our patients. We are committed to wholeness and that will reflect back on clients.”
