~ MESSAGE ~ You maybe full of joy during this day of celebration for the feast of Mama Mary who bore Jesus the Son of the living God who, while writhing in greatest pain, fought valiantly and shed His blood to the last drop on the cross to snatch us out from the bondage of sin. Beware! Don't be carried away by all these pompous activities of the event for you are locked right in the midst of an end-time - the most dangerous time in the history of the world where all imaginable abhorrent acts of man continue to stalk and destroy all things. Reform! For nothing can save you from this impending cataclysmic disaster as envisioned by John in the last book of the New Testament. Forget all things about the world and find a way to cling onto the cloak of Jesus. We urge and plead to all Christians and non- Christians alike to endure the test of time by renouncing all evil habits but rejoice in sharing, at least, a little of good work to enlighten the load set upon the shoulder of Jesus so you may live. Have a Blessed Fiesta Day. The Cabuco Fiesta Committee

A brief history of the Fluvial Procession (CARACOL) extended from Ca単acao Bay in Cavite Puerto to the shores of San Nicolas (Cabuco) in Caridad, Cavite City From the recollection of Jose H. dela Cruz The Fluvial Procession or Caracol in honor of the Ntra. Sra. de la Soledad de Porta Vaga during yesteryears started from the Ermita Church in Cavite Puerto and taken to a small earth landing a few meters away to the Yangco wharf. The image of the Soledad was then taken from the carrosa and placed in a big flat-bottomed banca called pamandawan where a decorated mini altar bedecked with flowers was provided. This banca was then paddled out into Ca単acao Bay with some small bancas going round and round the main banca where the Soledad was placed. After a few rounds in Ca単acao Bay, the Caracol then returned to the same landing whence it started and the image of the Soledad was again taken from the pamandawan to the waiting carrosa then continued the procession back to the Ermita Church, the sanctuary of the Virgen de la Soledad in Cavite Puerto. This was the Caracol being held yearly in the Municipality of Cavite up to the year 1932. One day in October 1932, Mr. Jose H. Dela Cruz was approached in the office of the Provincial Governor of Cavite by Alfonso Ramos, the perennial chairman of the Committee on Caracol during the fiesta of Cavite, and was asked if he would be willing to accept and receive the landing of the fluvial procession at the shores of Cabuco, then called San Nicolas, from Cavite Puerto. To which he replied he would be very willing to accommodate the said landing, knowing very well that the devotees of the Soledad in Cabuco would also be willing to receive and accept the Caracol. That same year, Alfonso Ramos also made him a member of the committee on Caracol in preparation for the eventual transfer of the fluvial procession from Cavite Puerto to the shores of Cabuco. When the day came on that sunny afternoon in November, the eve of the Cavite Fiesta, the disembarkation of the Caracol arrived at the shores of Cabuco with the devotees of the Soledad waiting there to receive her image with reverence and enthusiasm accompanied by music from a band. The image of the Soledad was then taken from the pamandawan and placed in a carrosa, pulled by the devotees infront of the veranda of the dela Cruz residence where the salve was sang. After the salve, the band of music folowed the procession back to the Ermita Church passing thru Cabuco, then turn to P. Burgos Avenue up to the istmus of Rosario going to the Porta Vaga wall entering Cavite Puerto and finally into the Ermita Church. The fiesta celebration was interrupted during the Japanese occupation of 1941. But after the liberation of 1945, the Cavite単os again celebrated the fiesta of the Soledad and the Caracol resumed. However, the celebration was transferred at San Roque Church, where the image of the Soledad was enthroned, after the Ermita Church, as the original shrine of
